well. >> outside right now, it is calm. we have cloud cover across the city, watching for warm temperatures, little muggy out there, temperature right now in philly, 78 degrees, south wind. coming in at 9 miles an hour, and we actually are registering a heat index, because our humidity is so high that it feels like zero eight, even though now it is 78. talking dew point, in the 60s and 70s. so early in the morning, like this, a little bit uncommon, and it definitely is what you will notice when you step out the door, again, that 78 is warm. but what you will feel, walking outside, like you're walking into a sauna, 72 for the dew point, wilmington, even as high as 74, dew point in dover, 76 degrees, to kick off this saturday. day planner 08 degrees by 9:00 o the day for us, going to start to see some showers, maybe around lunchtime or so, as we get later on in the afternoon,

budget. even though they're not sure how they're going to pay for some of it just yet. 32 billion-dollar spending plan provides more money schools, reduce spending for unspecified medicaid services, governor tom wolf backs the budget he will but has yet to say if he'll sign it that is if lawmakers can't cover the shortfall in the coming days. >> well, your next septa ride will cost you more, starting today electronic card or token fares are going from a dollar 80 to $2 cash fares jump to 2.50, and weekly transpass increases to 25.50. septa says the across the board fare increases are expected to bring in an additional $25 million in operating revenue for the new fiscal year. >> new this morning, flames have damage add camden county home. firefighter got this call right around 12:30 this morning, to this home on the 3200 block of horter avenue in

pennsauken. no one was hurt, the fire under control in about 20 minute. so far no word on how this fire started. >> loved ones gathered in memory of high school honors graduate who was murdered in apparent road rage attack. meantime, police in chester county community release this sketch of the man who allegedly shot her. "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff is in west gosh tone bring us up to date on this investigation. took a beautiful young lady of 18 years old in the prime of her life. >> hours after police offered up this sketch of the armed suspect. >> we ask for your comfort, your strength, this evening. >> a crowd of friends and family paid tribute to 18 year old bianca roberson in the backyard of her west chester home. >> i just have to have some comfort knowing she is in a better place. >> roberson driving south on route 100, near the 202 intersection, around 5:30 p.m. wednesday. two lanes turned into one. that's when police say that a man in a red pick-up truck struggling to merge took out a

>> her brother died of ms4 years ago. now the suspect is armed, and considered extremely dangerous, anyone with any information should contact the west goshen township police immediately. there is a $5,000 reward. reporting in chester county, alexandria hoff, cbs-3, "eyewitness news." chaos at new york city hospital after a doctor who had formerly worked there returned with a gun. at least seven people were shot and the gunman is dead. meg oliver reports from the bronx, new york. >> police say gunman entered the bronx hospital, armed with assault rifle and began shooting. >> unit, be confirmed, shot fired. >> one doctor is dead. and there are several doctors who are fighting for their lives right now.

police say the doctor, former employee, hid the assault rifle in his lab coat before opening fire on the hospital's 16th and 17th floors, just before 3:00 p.m. was working on the 12th floor. >> all i heard was a doctor sagan help, help, and then, that's when i saw police came, and everybody, everybody just went to the room. i just went to a room and i lock myself in the room. >> this man said his fiancee called him while the shooter was active. >> first thing i told her just get off the phone, don't talk too loud, stay low, and stay where you're at. >> officers immediately put the hospital on lockdown while they searched for the gunman floor by floor. the whole episode was over in less than an hour. >> during the incident, the hospital's fire alarm system activated. apparently due to the suspect's attempt to set himself on fire. >> police say bellow described as family medicine physician then shot himself to death. the 1,000 bed hospital has one of the busiest emergency rooms

activity mixed together, too, he is saying it is muggy out, there good day for the pool or the air-conditioning. coy not agree more. and let's hear one more, out to tabernacle, 73 degrees at john's house, he's got some cloudy skies, and he actually said he got a little bit wet this morning when he was walking the dog. no sunshine or wind for him. and this just coming in, about five minute ago, his report. so again, a bit of a muggy and wet start to the day for some folks. now we don't see too much in the way of precipitation across the region just yet on storm scan three but we will be watching for it, later on in the afternoon. >> hire in philly it is cloudy, maybe, a little bit of more clearer skies, we call it, as you head up to the lehigh valley towards the poconos, overall partly cloudy morning giving way to mostly cloudy afternoon. cold front out to the west, see showers around erie, north central new york, in front of the front we have the

southwest winds, warm and humid air being brought in, what we see as the cold front moves into this area where we see all of the warm and humid air over top of the delaware vale, shower, thunderstorm activity could be potentially firing up, and that means, we have a threat for severe weather today, everywhere in the yellow shading that's our slight risk to see lancaster, reading, allentown, philadelphia split between the green and the yellow, so everywhere that's in the green area, trenton, toms river back toward millville, as well, our marginal risk, little bit of not quite risk for severe weather in the green, as you get in the yellow. still overall thunderstorm activities comes through later today. could be on the stronger side, could look for strong gusty wind, and potential for small hail to develop as well. future weather, time out the showers, thunderstorms, 10:00. maybe few spotty showers out there to start the day out for the most part, probably going to be dry morning, for us, just mostly cloudy morning, by

the time we get to four, 5:00. here comes the cold front, thunderstorm activity out toward lancaster, reading back to the poconos, get little later on past that, by 7:00, 8:00 we start to see the thunderstorm in fill at this self, trends seeing thunderstorm activity back southwestern new jersey, millville, too. cold front in at 8:00. then once we get toward 10:00, 11:00 midnight or so into monday morning, we actually start to see cloud cover decrease, that front at that point well off the coastline, most of the precipitation ending as we go through the nighttime hours tonight. going to be good day for the pool, could be stormy later in the day, but out there early on, 89 degrees, mostly cloudy skies, even with not a ton of sunshine, uv index still hi, at ten, so still need to put the sunscreen on even if you don't see the sun you still can get a sunburn, still protect yourself from the dangerous rays. 89 degrees, for our high temperature today, going with 92, on sunday afternoon, and

holiday plans? meteorologist, matt peterson, liver out there on the cbs-3 skydeck this morning with eyewitness weather. hi, matt. >> good morning, jan, like you said, high heat, high humidity, that is our big story for the morning on our saturday here today. the first thing you'll notice when you walk outside, i noticed it when came out here on the skydeck, not just the cloud cover that you see behind me, but, you're walking into just wall of humidity, it is a steamy, soupy, very, very muggy start to the day here, across the delaware vale. starting out taking a look at those dew point, again, it will be the first thing you notice when you walk outside. it is just walking into a wall, it feels like, again, of humidity. 71 degrees for our dew point in philly. looking at 71 degrees in trenton, 76, for dew point right now, in dover. we are well up into that almost oppressive, almost unsufferable range every high humidity, and high dew point. temperatures for us, they're also on the warm side to begin the day. it is 78 right now in philly.

anita oh, liver in the news center this morning with how the shutdown is now affecting the garden state. anita? >> good morning, jan, last night's session hasn't officially recessed asking law makers to meet again at 11:00 this morning. if they can't work out a deal, thousands of state workers could be furloughed, non-essential services like renewing your drivers license at the dmv, will be put on hold. and this would also affect those heading through the garden state for the holiday weekend, historic sites and some rest stops will be closed. so many an at risk due to some of the worse politics that we've evergreen that risk of government shutdown in new jersey turned to reality as the clock struck midnight, due to gridlock between governor chris christie and the state legislature. while essential government services like state police, state hospitals, and new jersey transit, will continue to operate, state beaches and parks will be closed, and all event planned within them

canceled. >> was not going to result in this casino and degree of damage. >> despite pleas for more than 100 people with labor unions and grass roots organizations at the state house, the battle mainly boiles down to just two lawmakers, the governor, and general assembly speaker vincent. >> it needs to be vetted. that's not been a line in the sand. that's cement in the sand for me. >> he's talking about the governor's controversial horizon bill. that would add provision to the state's billion dollars budget, requiring horizon blue cross-blue shield to funds public health initiatives like addiction treatment. while proette owe fears the provision would lead to grass i can insurance hikes, christie threatened, unless the pro significance is

prices in our region, in delaware, at 2.14 per gallon. >> there is now a sketch of the suspect in apparent road rage murder chester county. take a look at this, west goshen police say a man fitting this description shot a high school student graduate to death, also $5,000 reward for information leading to the suspect's capture. bianca roberson was southbound route 100 on route 202 wednesday, investigators say she and the driver of a red pick-up truck were trying to merge into a single lane at the same time. police say the pick-up truck driver shot her in the head. >> this homicide was completely zest less, brutal, tragic. he took a beautiful young lady of 18 years of age in the prime of her life getting ready to go off to college. >> last night, family and friends gathered to remember roberson, few weeks ago she graduated with honors, from the high school. she planned attend jacksonville university this fall.

fest we found hidden gems. our own jessica dean set out to learn the history behind all of the different names that apply to the different neighborhoods in the city. >> and from independence hall, to the steps of the art museum, there are so many iconic spots around town, but there are also some hidden gems. let's take a look. >> sixth street, opposite washington square, a drome garden. not made of traditional leaves and flowers, but 100,000 pieces of glass. the hidden treasure, a lot of people come to visit regularly. >> crowds have been coming here for more than a century now, at 15th feet tall, 49 feet wide. this mosaic took whole year to build. twenty-four panels were created in new york, then re assemble it philly. this masterpiece a partnership brought to life by tiffany studio, based on painting by philly native maxwell parish. >> based on his guard never

new hampshire. >> this is so pack glass, called fabio glass, has a lot of sparkle to it. >> restoration get underway this summer, to be complete by the end of the year. >> once it is cleaned and repaired, it is probably going to look nearly as fabulous as it did 100 yearsing. >> from inside the curtis, to out here on south street now, this is philadelphia's magic garden. spanning half block, it has colorful glass bottles, tiles, thousands of more ores, and more. >> we really describe it as walking into someone's diary, full of anxiety, love, and strange stories,. >> he actually squatted on these blocks, then slowly was working secretly, and it became this amazing magestic installation over time. >> the garden opened in 2008, roughly 136,000 people, visited last year alone. eyewitnesses, to this spot's

charm. >> got big old worm. oh, i love it so much. >> place to find something new around each corner, during every visit. >> you can actually go under the grounds, and there are all every thee tunnel, hallways, mostly hidden from the street. people don't know what is really inside. like the mosaic is talking to you, you can only get that once you come inside. >> another hidden gem, this one, traditional garden in un traditional place, talking about the peco green roof in center city, installed in 2009, at peco headquarters at 23rd and market streets, the 45,000 square foot garden is one of philly's first green roofs. the roof captured an estimated 1.6 million gallons every rain water a year, i was up there, and it is just gorgeous. >> well, crayola needs help naming its newest color, the easton based company asks fans to come up with a name for

most part. we're going to be seeing few shower and thunderstorms that roll through later this afternoon, but, again, in general, it is going to be a very nice holiday weekend. our eyewitness weather watchers, they're up this morning, it is warm and muggy. temperatures right now in levittown, 80 degrees, william's house you see 77 in philly. phils house, one of the warm spots, there, 84, willingboro, more 80s in cherry hill. for lynn, and then also 78 at jenny's house so again just little bit of a warm start to the day to say the least, poconos, not too bad. looking at burn ville here this morning, 078 degrees, again, little bit of cloud cover out there. don't spec to see a ton of sunshine for the first half of the day. really looks like it will be a better at least more sunny day for us tomorrow. but again overall right now

the cloud are out there, little fog, getting some report, areas up in the poconos actually seeing some more dense fog. careful driving around in the lehigh valley and the poconos here this morning, your pocono forecast, 08 degrees for our saturday afternoon, shower, thunderstorm, likely, as i said much better for sunday, 81, sunshine for us there, then another spotty shower chance as we head into our call it work week, spotty shower chance to go along with sunshine and cloud cover mixing together. storm scan3, not whole lot happening few sprinkles, we look out to the west, showers and thunderstorms firing up along the cold front, right now in western pa. southed west wind bringing in warm and humid air over top of us here in the delaware valley, south jersey back up to the poconos see the cold front tracking eastward going throughout the afternoon. we have the southwesterly wind, in front of the front,

we get northwest flow on the back side also, all of the hot and humid air sitting over top of us. that's the perfect set up for the chance of some severe weather, exactly what we have, slight risk everywhere in this yellow including part of philadelphia, wilmington, reading, allentown back to the poconos, slight risk for severe weather, gusty winds, potential for small hail to develop. then of course, as our thunderstorms con on through, do locally heavy rainfall to go along with that chance for gusty winds and small hail. >> by 10:00, 11:00, seeing shower activity around the philadelphia area, this is well below the severe range. >> start to watch as the cold front inch. closer and closer, could see thunderstorm activity as early as 4:00, 5:00, in areas in western last candor county, part of berks county up into the poconos, you see, by 6:00 reading, allentown, then parts of northern montgomery,

northern bucks county, start to get in on little bit of the action. as we head toward 7:00, 8:00. fillly get some shower and thunderstorm activity, also trenton, you can see, back down to dover. good news by the time we get to 10:00, 11:00 and then midnight specially front off the coastline takes with it all of the precipitation, start to clear things out as we go through the nighttime hours. >> 89 degrees, even without a ton of sunshine, still get very warm, going to be humid, then tomorrow you see on the back side of the front. but our temperatures really not actually going to change, actually going up in temperature on the back side of the coal front. the reason for this dry air settles in. so much lower humidity on sunday, plenty of sunshine, allows the temperatures to get warmer, so 92 sunday afternoon, 94 maybe spotty shower late in the day really not looking at too much after threat for that. same for tuesday. fourth every july, 87, mostly sunny, slim chance for spotty shower in the afternoon. better chance for more thunderstorms the second half
