up. of course today is the fourth of july, good morning, i'm rahel solomon. jim donovan is off. katie and meisha are keeping an eye on things on this holiday morning. >> happy fourth every july, the roadways, i'm sure everyone can imagine are very, very slow. closures we will talk about because of the festivities going on, but enjoy the open load ways. all looking pretty good, while we could see spotty shower or thunderstorm along the way, things very quiet right now, little vale of cloud cover here and there, going to keep the temperatures warm when that is the case. heat can't get lost in the atmosphere, trapped under literal blanket of cloud cover. shot from central library camera, see off in the distance here, logan square, beautiful beginning to the day, and yes, meisha, said it, things really really quiet right now. i see couple of looks like that is from actually just the walkway. so, all-in-all, not too much going on out there.

storm scan reflect that. now, we have seen few little speckles of green firing up on the area radar, north of the city through berks, or rather bucks and montgomery counties. that will be sort of the theme of the day. not everyone is getting hit at one given time. but there is still a front that's nearby helping to trigger some of the showers that you're finding just south of that storm scan wording there. here are our area temperatures, at 77, even in the last half hour, dropping off little bit before the sun comes up. >> out of the north northeast today because of the passage of the front from yesterday. hasn't completely cleared, so still really steamy, in a place even like philly where your dew point is still at 69 degrees. , all-in-all i project pretty great weather it he beach, if you're going to the lake, just hang out, barbeque with the family at home. watch for spotty shower or storm, seasonably warm, 87 degrees this afternoon.

>> good morning, still early, nice dry roadways, overall things looking pretty good. near mid-county what you are going to be looking at basically anywhere on the blue route, also, 95, basically anywhere that we are looking on 95, as well, looking very quiet at the betsy ross. see if things heat up at allment probably more than likely not until the 7:00 hour would we see any real signs of movement. ben franklin bridge, westbound direction, looking great. more to come when we come back in a little bit. rahel, over to you. >> meisha, thank you. philadelphia police are left with a bizarre mystery this morning, overnight, they found an infant's casket. >> content of the casket only leading to more questions, she is live with the latest on this, trang. >> no body inside the casket but police did finds bag of human organs, even more disturbing, this all happened directly across the street from the cemetery. >> i was pretty shocked, looked like something straight

out -- >> chris james couldn't believe his eyes when he saw the small white casket lying along the 3100 block of west deerfield street, just after 9:00 p.m. monday. >> we didn't want to open t we didn't know what was inside. we didn't know, toxic ways could be in there, anything, to be honest, even a animal. >> officers arrived and fawn even more gruesome discovery when they opened the cough town finds bag of organs inside. >> according to the medical examiner, were, in fact, human organs, they believed they belonged to an infant or a child. what's unusual is inside the coffin other than the bag of organs there was no body. >> chief inspect store scott small described the coffin as fresh, and recently pried open. looking into whether it was stolen from area funeral home or dug up from cemetery including one across the street p where the coffin was found. >> there have been cases where people take remains, or human

bodies, for whatever unusual reasons, they decide, but we will look into that. >> and the medical examiners office now has the casket and bag of organs for further inspection, meanwhile police checking with area funeral holes to see if they are missing a casket, and they also plan to bring in kad calfer dogs to mount vernon, another nearby cemetery to look up any freshly drug graves. live in north philadelphia, trang do, cbs 3, "eyewitness news," rahel, joe, back to you. >> hopefully they can get some answers soon, trang, thank you. >> new this morning, huge flames destroy 100 year old home in delaware county, firefighters battle in olden just before 2:00. it is not clear how the fire started. >> unoccupied for awhile. the flames also forced the neighboring family out of their home, fortunately, no injuries, and the cause reese mains under investigation.

>> governor chris christie ordered state parks and beaches to be reopened just in time for the fourth of july holiday. here is hena daniels with more on new jersey's new budget. >> the vp has been ordered by me to have allstate parks ope open. >> declared open foreign dependence day, homes after he and democratic lawmakers finally came to an agreement on a new state budget. governor tweeted this photo of himself signing the deal overnight, add that he delivered two full terms every unprecedented pension stability, fiscal responsibility, and tax relief. >> they took great things for the resident of the state of new jersey. >> i wish we had done this friday. best budget we had seen in ten years. >> led to partial three day government shutdown, shutting all non-essential services including government offices and beaches. lawmakers say the new $34.7 billion budget includes

feet from where it all began. 65 feet philadelphia pops performed in front of thousands, right in front of independence hall. broadway philadelphia sang music from phantom of the opera, guests from all across the country came out to celebrate our nation's birthday. >> very emotional, very touching, to be part of it, to think about what happened. back in those times. >> and there are plenty more festive tis planned throughout the city today. free concert, staring marry jay blige, phillies own boyz ii men, and fireworks shows set for 9:30 tonight on the parkway, and the delaware river waterfront. >> and take a look at these fireworks, in new jersey's haddon township. chopper three, high above the show last night, this was for the happy birthday america event kick off live music on the haddon township football field. kings highway, chestnut street this morning at 10:00.

>> while watching them, light up the sky can be fun, they can also be dangerous. expert from triple a say when using fireworks, make sure they're legal in your community. they say you should detonate none aerial fireworks, flat surface, far from homes, cars, bushes and trees. >> once that fire work is detonated, you want to make sure that you wait at least 20 minutes. >> and then, any pieces that are left, you want to soak in a bucket of water. >> triple a says more fires are reported in the u.s. on the fourth of july than any other day, and fireworks account for more than half of those fires. >> and, a reminder, all philadelphia city offices and most services are closed today. today track collection day, then the sit i would collect tomorrow. trash and recycling will be a day behind for the rest of the week. >> and, there is no better place to celebrate america's

them not to do so. president trump responding in a tweet, quote, hard to believe that south korea and japan will put up with this much longer. in another tweet, he urged china to put heavy move on north korea and ends this nonsense once and for all. however, north korea officials are claiming the missile was long-range. >> police in boston have not filed charges against the taxi driver after his cab jumped the curb and boston's logan international airport, strook g several other cab drivers. at this point, police say, there is no information to suggest the crash was intentional, but they continue their investigation. viral video, pick-up truck getting little too close to the surround in brigantine. the city posted to facebook yesterday, shows the scene, on the north ends of the island. people on the beach tell us the driver was launching a wave runner, when he backed in little too far. >> oops. >> eventually tow truck came along, and yank philadelphia out. definitely not your every day

today, probably what you're dealing with. looking really good. then down the shore, hazy shot here. garden state parkway, near cape may toll plaza, looking at this yesterday, and it looked just like this. so, big thumbs-up around there, obviously, schuylkill at the boulevard, this is what we are looking at, there kind of birdseye shot for you. actually moving in the westbound direction, it looks like we do have some movement. little bit on the eastbound side, as well, as you travel toward center city. overall what our drive will be like today. so we're in really really good hands, so speaking of fourth every july festivities, wawa welcome america, concert and fireworks, ben franklin parkway, it is closed through wednesday, a.m. so again, wednesday morning, this is when all of this should start to open up, alleve ate anything that comes up in terms of tension around the area because of the festivities. just heads up on this. and also take a look at another one, that my producer tim made. independence mall there is map showing you the celebration of freedom ceremony, independent days parade, also heads up, because of this, we've got closures on chestnut, it, take
