donovan. >> alicia out on the parkway to start things off with katie fehlinger with a check on the holiday forecast, katie, looks good full out there. >> really is nice, joe. yes, thanks, guys, looks as though daytime highs will be very much where they should be, the forecast overall is a very classic philadelphia forecast for the fourth of july. all-in-all, we have great weather to enjoy, critical part of our festive tis, because, so many of them take place outdoors. so let's go to it, show you what's up. i mentioned if you were with us, possibility of storms, at the moment, though, nothing showing up on storm scan3. so that's good. but, just within the few hours i think we'll find spotty shower or thunderstorm firing up at some point, especially true for the southern half of our area. but here's where we currently stand, you're in the mid 80s from philly, down to wilmington, mid 80s as well from dover, across the bay into millville. it is just a really nice start to the day. if you are one of the lucky folks that's at the shore points, you have got some pretty nice air as well, with highs current temperatures mid 80s, and eventually you will

get into the mid 80s there, as well, in place like barnegat light or ocean city. ocean water at this particular buoy little on the cool side. finding some spots, places like cape may, for example, that is the water temperature, even 10 degrees miler than. that will so, depends who you are and where you are, whether you will go in for dip here. but the warmth certainly something that uma enjoy, no matter what your plans are, including here this afternoon. just watch for spotty shower, thunderstorm, with the frontal boundery kind of stuck nearby, but all-in-all looks like beautiful afternoon for the barbeques, for the parades, and for everything else that weaver going on, little later on in the show, though, we have new system that we will be tracking later in the week. i'll let you below it gets here and the pact it will bring. >> katie, see you then, thank you. independence day celebration kicks off with patriotic ceremony, special reading of the declaration every independence, by boyz ii men. >> that all men, all men, are created equal. >> philly pops big bands also

performed patriotic tunes, mayor jim kenney says today is truely the day for americans to celebrate our freedom. >> this country belongs to everyone. it belong to men, and women, black, white, brown, immigrants, lgbtq, everyone. >> and this celebration of freedom ceremony concluded with the indeed pen days day parade, more than 4,000 people paraded through historic philadelphia. the annual fourth of july party on the parkway start right now in center city. it is promising to be a fun day for all ages. alicia is live on the ben franklin parkway with a look at the day's events, hello, alicia. >> hey, rahel, all about patriotic partying today. you're correct, the party started here on the parkway just few minutes ago, vendors all set up, and quite a bit of people have already packed this place. now there is parkway is block off all day long, from the art museum, to 18th street, and tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people will pack this place throughout the day for our big

fourth of july celebration. and what's the big hoopla? well, it is five blocks every fun all day long, fun filled with food, food and more of the hard to resist traditional festival feast, now to work that, there are plenty of activities to do from zip lining, kids area, with obstacle course, place for pet, as well, not to mention, a lot of dancing that could be done. there will be several musical performances all day long, one of the big act tonight will be a performance from marry j blige. then at the ends of the night, it is a traditional fireworks, so the thing that mezmerize z us every year, and i'm particularly looking forwards to that. it is my first fourth of july here in philly. i actually met a family her already who comes ever year, and they got me real excited as they describe what i and so many people have to look forward to tonight. >> at the end of the day everybody waits for it, after the performance, and the songs, and everybody dancing and enjoying themselves, it will not and fourth of july without the fireworks,

morning, how about this? people paraded down chester pike for their annual fourth of july parade. it is decorated bikes with balloons, area fire companies have their firetrucks through the parade route. beautiful. also looking beautiful on the beach today. this is the scene from the beaches of ocean city new jersey, certainly was a good day. soak up the sun. and there is of course plenty of fun to be had on this fourth of july. all across the region. for complete list of all of the celebrations, happening in the city, and the suburbs, head over to our website cbsphilly.com. >> philadelphia police are expected to use cadaver dogs in their search for clues after an infant casket found on a north philadelphia sidewalk. man walking along the streets found the cast death overnight near mount vernon cemetery, and then alerted police. inside the casket investigators say they found what is believed to be a bag of human organs, but, no bodies. so far police have no clue how it ended up there.

>> we didn't want to open t we didn't know what was inside. we didn't know, toxic waste could be in there, anything. >> the lid to the coffin appear to have been pryed open, the excuse appear to be loose ends. >> the medical examiners office now has the casket, and the organs, for further investigation, police are also checking with local funeral homes. >> to delaware county, century old home goes up in flames, tore through the home in aldan, just before 2:00 this morning. neighbors tell cbs-3 the home has been vacant for some time. the fire also damaged the neighboring home and residence had to spends the night elsewhere. there were no injuries reported. and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. state beaches and parks in new jersey are open this fourth of july. after lawmakers reach a state budget deal, and end the garden state's government shutdown. new jersey's $34.7 billion spending plan was announced last night, three days after state legislature there failed to pass a budget by the

is just beautiful. anywhere from philly up toward the poconos here, but you have dew points in the 70s here, millville, wildwood, and dover, quite steamy, so kind of cutting the difference here between what's steamy than oppressive in terms of the comfort index. bottom line the further south you go, the steamier it will feel, the more likely you'll even see shower or thunderstorm before the day is done. know this attraction, joe? >> oh, that's my gosh, poconos? >> no pressure. well, it is the poconos, you're close. it is the beach, the specific beach, sparrow's, camel beach. yes, look. i would be out there, with a giant bucket of water over your head? who doesn't like. that will but the beach were you talking about, un bream asomugha far as the eye can literally see, yes. so, so nice outside right now though, whether it is steamy or not, still got the warmth everywhere, and it is still perfect weather, to head outside, all-in-all, enjoy the
