>> we had sunshine through much of the holiday inn center city philadelphia, skies have clouded over but it is helping us out in the temperature department feeling a bit cooler but these cloud are a product of showers and thunderstorms off to our south that have chased many indoors on this fourth of july holiday checking in on storm scan three you can see concentration of the shower and thunderstorm activity all south of philadelphia at this point this activity is forming along the stalled frontal boundary that is trying to slowly move its way northward and we want to get it off to the south and maintain fire works weather for most of as you cross the area but certainly watching shower activity moving through parts of the delaware. we did have a formal flood advisory that has been since cancelled as our activity is starting to diminish across the parts of the delaware. watch out for localized flooding and ponding this is sneaking its way in chester county. head up in extreme southwest chester county and gaining some strength we could see gusty wind, lightening with that cell and even small hail moving slowly off to thee/

northe at five to 10 miles an hour, so these cells have all been moving slowly so we are racking up in the rainfall department. check this out across cumberland county we have pick up 2 inches of rainfall and some areas in just 22 minutes, others in just 45 minutes, that is why we have a localized flood threat south of the city but i will keep my eye on the radar over next several hours and do have that backup plan and have umbrella just in case scout out where you would head if you do see one of these cells, in a way in center city philadelphia which i don't necessarily think it it is likely but possible as we head in the next couple hours as we head out to the fire works. we will talk more about the storm threat and what is in store as we head in the rest of the week as we head back to work in just a couple minutes. >> lauren, thanks. party on the parkway has been going on all afternoon but one of the highlights of the evening will be performances by mary j. blige and boys two men, still a couple hours away. christie signs a new state budget ending a three day governmental shut down, well, state owned beaches and parks are reopened, "eyewitness news" reporter henry rossoff found out today that the crowd s are smaller then normal >> reporter: shut down may be done but so many people had to adjust their plans that even though state parks are opened we are still seeing them very, very slow today, this fourth of july. >> didn't get out early get a little exercise in and spend time with the barbecues and family. >> reporter: mark was one of the few people by saw taking advantage of the rancocas state park this fourth of july he suspects many stayed away from the popular walking and hiking spot because until today it was closed thanks to the new jersey government shut down. >> i was appalled, no state parks should be closed down due to impasses in the state legislature, lot of grand stopping, lot of bally whoing, wasn't impressed at all. i will remember at the polls. >> reporter: has with people at par vin state park lake front. >> everybody who has plans to do something and then it just

around 9:00 last night, police say inside there wasn't a young body but there were human organs. philadelphia police worked many different scenes, but call they received monday night in north philadelphia. >> i was pretty shocked like it looked like something straight out of the movie. >> reporter: seems like a scene from the horror movie. >> just after 9:00 p.m. 39th district police responded to a report of the child's coffin on the sidewalk along the 3,000 block of west clearfield >> reporter: this surveillance video obtained by cbs-3 from a nearby gas station shows police arriving shortly after 9:00 p.m. monday. inside that tiny casket. >> they found a plastic bag. >> inside that bag appeared to be organs, human other agains. >> reporter: investigators say there were no other remains inside the casket. >> what is unusual is inside the coffin other than the bag of organs there was no body there, was no head, arms, legs , torso no skeleton, skin

look live at ocean city on the a busy day on the the board as people decided to head to the shore to celebrate independence day. plenty of fun for all ages and another popular new jersey shore town visitors pick out their perfect spot for loung ing on the beaches of atlantic city. boardwalk had plenty of people there as well some people we talk to earlier said they cannot wait for tonight's grand finally.

>> the good news was a beautiful day to care out those family traditions. vice-president mike pence made a surprise appearance in grandville, michigan this morning. vice-president and his wife gave a boost to the cities celebrations. people who lined the parade route had their phones ready to capture that moment. in the meantime former vice-president joe biden took to twit tore day to wish americans a happy fourth of july. he said america continues to march toward tolerance, diversity and equality of opportunities that began in 1776. that is patriotism. lauren casey joins us now live as everybody does turn their eye to the sky, lauren as things start to get dark, we are looking at cloud coming in and storms. >> cloud coming in getting dark in center city philadelphia don't have any rain yet but we have cells off to the south and west in chester county and new castle county, delaware. these cells are slow moving in nature as they have been throughout the late afternoon and early evening hours.

if you see a cell that develops overhead it is going to dump on you. we have low cloud dark claude in place. after sunshine. temperature 86 degrees. feeling like 88 with a little bit of the steam factor. our image rehoboth beach looking sad, and empty just a couple people outside on the boards. this was packed a few hours ago but then we had rain, chased everyone inside and what to expect this evening slow moving downpours mainly south of the city that will pre dues prolong, heavy rainfall. we could see rainfall on the order of two to three plus inches which we have in portions of delaware, cumberland county new jersey with the cell there earlier in the afternoon. right now we are starting to see things letting up in delaware but getting closer to the city, as they are moving slowly northe and they are moving slowly on the order of the 10 to 20 miles an hour, of forward progression. southwestern chester county right now getting dumped on frome nottingham, gusty wind,

lightening embedded and possibility of some small hail as it moves off to thee northeast, had this cell popped up in the last 30 minutes over red lion and christiana, so you need to keep yourself aware of the changing situation over next couple of hours, especially south of the city in these areas we are seeing these cells, firing off improving conditions across portions of the central, southern delaware after picking up quite a bit over last several hours and seeing light rain, traversing still just southern tip there of cape may county but still people indoors bound in cape may with that light rain that continues to move through. for tonight slow moving shower or thunderstorm south of the city 71 degrees overnight tonight. heading in to our wednesday quiet day more cloud around increasing sunshinee wind takes over, and a high of 84 degrees, temperatures being cooled off by rain, cloud cover at 86 in philadelphia, down in the zero seven's in

millville. humidity levels are not too bad. we had east wind that will drive-in a little bit of dryer eras we head in the day tomorrow. seventy-two in ocean city. 75 degrees in stone harbor. dew points they are not too bad, steamy in spots but all together not too brutal. that will not be the case as we head into thursday and friday as dew points will be climbing in the 07-degree range. we will be dealing with oppressive humidity levels especially on thursday. down the shore tomorrow, more cloud around, cooler temperatures with that easterly wind on the sand looking at mid 70's, rip current risk is low tomorrow, water temperatures in the middle 60's and as we head in the next several days we will ramp up that humidity levels. thursday round of showers and thunderstorms. friday afternoon thunderstorms likely but we will clear out just in time for upcoming weekend. we have a short workweek and then to follow that with a saturday, sunday with low humidity value sunshine and low to mid 80's, not looking

down the shore is going viral this video posted on to facebook yesterday shows the scene on the north end of brigantine. people on the beach tell us that the driver was launching a wave runner when he got in a little bit too far. eventually a tow truck came along and saved the truck from being swallowed up by the sea. not something you see every day. >> no, not at all. >> add bonus. thanks for watching "eyewitness news" at 6:00. we are back at 10 on the
