camera revealing heart pounding few minutes for workers that the mexican grill in the jenkintown section of the ago ton township. man and woman forced three workers in to a back room and terrorized them. >> male suspect was armed with a glove we're describing it as a freddie kruger wolverine type glove. >> reporter: police say woman robber was also armed. >> female had a very large butcher knife, also used in a very threatening matter. >> reporter: they play out around 10:00 is a saturday. restaurant close sad minutes earlier. for some reason employees never locked the door and then in came man with the triple bladed hand along with this butcher knife wielding accomplice. >> witnesses say he was proficient. you can see he hold it right up to the victim's throat and menacing manner. >> reporter: now side from those weapons police also say that the robbers were wearing hoodies, so the workers were

times, declared dead and shot 2 miles from where i'm standing near walnut lane near bellfield and third man a 23 year-old was shot on moreland street also near wayne avenue. both of those men survived, they are also, in critical condition, and the one homicide at this area where i'm standing is part of the broader trend of more murders this year, and according to philadelphia police there has been 156 so far, that is 24 more than this same time last year. >> it is shocking, it is very shocking, this is pretty good neighborhood, and just to have people get shot like that, it is ridiculous, really. >> there is a public safety meeting planned in germantown tomorrow night, as state representative stephen kins i is hosting that with philadelphia police, it was already on the books but there is added urgency to that, after the overnight shootings. coming up at 6:00 o'clock tonight we will pinpoint most violent, hard hit areas by

fire works show, in hershey did not go exactly as planned last night as pyrotechnics show ignited this brush fire. the fire started about 15 minutes in, to the show, at hershey park when fire works em berrying nighted dry grass. fire fighters quickly got the flames under control but rest of the fire works display was cancelled just to be safe. special ceremony today recognized a group of philadelphia residents looking for a second chance at a better life. uplift work force solutions, hosted a graduation celebration at enan tabernacle baptist church in stenton this afternoon. non-profit says 25 men and women with criminal record recently completed its six week job training program. >> people stepped up to the plate, because they recognize the opportunity in front of them today. >> each graduate was also offered a position with one of the non-profits partner co. coming up on "eyewitness

noxamixon. she was standing in that very spot just moments before. of course you know the drill if you see the bear do not approach it and cat pennsylvania gaming commission , right away. the summer season is in high gear and there is a high tech way to monitor effects of all that time in the sun. cbs news correspondent danielle nottingham has more now from los angeles. >> reporter: as junior life guard in training, tatiana cruz spend a lot of time in the sun. >> i use a lot of sun screen and reload sun screen on every two hours. >> reporter: sixteen year-old said she's worried about getting skin cancer so she's trying to high tech wearable called my uv patch to help monitor her sun exposure it contains photo sensitive dyes that exposes colors. users scan patch with the smart phone app and received some sun safety tips based on the results. >> this is a way to tell them when to reapply, to tell them there is sun damage that is

going on. >> reporter: dermatologist doctor gene rubinstein say sun damage is cumulative so whether you use the patch or other app connected wearable is awareness can help prevent skin cancer. >> wearables have a potential to engage someone like a teenager or a child to where they can understand, there is a link between how much sun screen and how much time they stay outside and the sun exposure that they get. >> reporter: doctor rubinstein add people should not rely solely on technology when it comes took sun smart, be sure to use sun screen that provides uv a and b protection and reapply every two hours. after 20 minutes, wearing the patch, cruz got a red alert. >> very surprised. i was in the sun a little bit. >> reporter: she said her experience will encourage her to wear even more sun screen in the future. danielle nottingham for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". doctor danoff, no matter what your skin type wear your sun screen all the time.

day after a extended holiday, there a lot of people on the boarden joying that sunshine. we have more sun along the coast but more cloud cover in the city and points west ward in close proximity to the shower and thunderstorm activity off to the south and west. we dealt with that with very slow moving cells all of this forming along a stationary boundary that will start to lift its way north ward as a warm front and that will provide a rain chance as we head into the day tomorrow but tonight, still quiet, partly to mostly cloudy, brief passing shower, low of 68 degrees and pack that umbrella for tomorrow period of rain, thunder especially for second half of the day a high temperature of 80 degrees in the morning we could still see rain, scattered showers and rainfall isn't going to be more widespread and more intense as we head in the afternoon hours. that rain could be heavier at times and we could see stronger thunderstorms embedded in this rainfall. future weather will show us as we head in the evening and

overnight a couple stray showers starting to work in, in the morning hours, your commute, not too bad but into lunchtime we will get heating of the day we will see areas of rain breaking out across the area. embedded area of heavier rain west of the city at first and then spreading its waye as we head in the second half of the day and even in the late evening we could still see rain coming down with the possibility of stronger storms we have severe weather threat marginal and proportions of delaware and cape may county. parts of the new jersey. do keep yourself aware of the changing weather situation tomorrow for that potential of an isolated severe storm. future rainfall amounts telling us it is a wet go into the day tomorrow, first half of friday what it looks like right now, rainfall on the order of one to 2 inches but we certainly locally could see much more than that so do watch out for ponding on the roadways and localized flooding, again this will be mainly on thursday and thursday evening but we will deal with scattered storms in
