wet weather on the way would i recommend walking outside with an umbrella. you will notice most of the region is still dry. we may eke out a relatively okay morning commute, but, you know, there is heavy rain just waiting nearby if you look closely, lower left-hand corner of your screen, soaking rain moving into the nation's capitol and that is essentially going to be moving up i-95 heading our way. we are finding light showers across new castle county, southern west most portion of the region here through lancaster and chester counties as well. we are off to a mild start. they will in the rebound that much. at best another 10 degrees out of the current temperatures in most locations. sixty-six for doyletown, quakertown, willow grove and 67 is the value in mount holly where national weather service regional headquarters is located. pool side, well, not the best day. i think that if you are desperate to get your lapness you can work around it and i would do it now but as day

"eyewitness news" reporter trang do is live in germantown where a meeting is scheduled to address this gun violence, good morning trang do. >> reporter: good morning, rahel and jim. this community meeting was planned ahead of this recent wave of violence in germantown and just last night, police responded to yet another shooting add to go this disturbing trend. four shootingness two days and an alarming pattern of gun violence in the cities

germantown section. latest shooting happened just after 12:30 on thursday morning on the 5,000 block of germantown avenue. after several 911 calls, police arrived to find a 30 year-old man with gunshot wound to his neck, chest, torso and groin. officers rush him to temple university hospital where doctors are now fighting to save his life. >> it appears that the shooter walked up on this individual, fired multiple shots, striking the victim multiple times, due to the fact that he was hit so many times, it appears that he was in fact the intended target. >> reporter: this shooting comes on the heels of the three in germantown on wednesday, one fatal. >> when you think of public safety it is urgent. >> reporter: stephen kensey whose district includes germantown is hosting a public safety meeting which community members called after several armed robberies in the area. >> we decided to jointly work with the neighborhood association to bring police, security, folks together as well as town watch to have a conversation about what neighbors can do to protect

virginia is back in the intensive care unit of the washington d.c. hospital. doctors say louisiana republican steve scalise has an infection and listed in serious condition. officials at med star washington hospital said they will provide an update later today. scalise was hit by gunfire at a practice before congressional baseball exhibition, gunman was shot and killed by law enforcement. new york city police department is america tragic looks of one of their own. authorities say the officer was in a park mobile command unit in the bronx when 34 year-old alexander bonds walk up and shot her in the head. bonds was shot and killed by police a block away. officer leaves behind three children n a letter james o'neill urged his fellow officers to protect each other and remain safe. similar ambush style shooting played out right here in philadelphia just last year , edward archer shot gist heart note multiple times as he sat in his patrol car in west philadelphia hartnett returned fire shooting archer.

okay. so we have wet weather out there at the moment. most widespread and heaviest, anywhere from, washington all the way down toward norfolk virginia area and chesapeake bay but this is all headed our way and we will be dealing with off and on rounds of rain and or thunderstorms, some of which could be locally gusty in the southern half of the region but at this point anytime it is fair game but especially into the mid to late day, we will see what looks like steady chance for showers, thunderstorms, firing up out there and then additional wet weather, into the first half of the day. here's my advice, keep the umbrella nearby right through tomorrow at least first half and you will be okay. don't want to get stuck. it could be locally dousing. ample moisture. keep that in mind. today also not the best opportunity, to hit the beach, we are not going to see this bright, blue sky as a backdrop but we will see showers, storms, overcast skies otherwise along jersey shore

sleep. scientists found a possible link between sleeping problems and increased risk for alzheimer's disease. researchers from the university of wisconsin found people who reported worse sleep quality and more daytime sleepiness had more biological markers for always highamers in their spinal fluid. also, new research reveals more millennials are having strokes according to an analysis by scientific american. the studies show a 32 percent spike in strokes among women age 18 to 34, and that 15 percent jump in males of the same age. doctors say this recent surge is preventable. >> almost a perfect storm of problems, so you've beesty, eating too much, exercise to go little, gaining weight, not being active, all of these factors can combine to this situation where the body just can't deal with that. >> the research mentioned that drug use may also be a factor in the increased number of strokes that have been recorded among millennials.

i'll sure with their being a two million-dollar pry. it is pretty good. >> it is great competition. guys are competing, playing hard, trying to win that two million-dollar but it is good competition for us during you the summer and we are looking forward to it. >> mike, those that don't know a lot about the tournament, what sit, who can they sianni what can they see when they come out on saturday. >> just former great college players, guys who may be overseas playing, guys who were in the d league and i mean with our team just a bunch of former villanova greats. we are just looking forward having to a chance obviously winning such a, you know, a large amount of money,. >> sure. >> it will be a great tournament. we have to win six games to get to 2 million. >> just like ncaa tournament. >> that is right. >> and then you have 2mil. >> lets go back tour playing days, 2006 through 2010. is what your fondes memory of being a wild contacted.

>> for sure our final four run in 2009, it is something i will always remember but still when the team won a championship a couple years ago it brought back the memories and that was a great year for us. that is my most fond memories you are in germany now playing this pennsylvania season i was in germany playing in munich. it was cool. germany is a cool country, good city good league. we had a pretty good year. germany is a good country i like it over there you played as well at nova. you have gotten a chance to be an assistant with jay wright working, playing under him, what sit like being part of it >> coach wright is a great guy he is legitimate. he does it the right way and just give meehan opportunity to come back to my alma matter and being part of that campus and that community, and he is always looking to stay in contact with our former players and just help them in
