north and western suburbs, get to that in a second. start by taking you back in time, looking at hands full every rain ability that came in. look at this. yep, not a typo. middletown, delaware, pick up 5.2 inches of rain, just in the last 24 hours, there is a flood warning, that just expired there. but you will still be running into receding rather -- watt near lot of spots around the area, northwestern kent county, smyrna delaware pick up over 4 inches every rain, the list goes on, meanwhile, just for perspective sake, in the just shy of only .3 of an inch. of the entire day in philadelphia. so it was highly localized, that rain, and still is, again, northwestern half of the region bearing the brunt right now. anyone still fair game for a shower or under this earl storm, really at any time, the rest of the morning, and even into the afternoon and evening, we will still see scattered shower or storm here and there. but it is starting to dry out. so that's at least better news. i don't think we're completely out of the woods until tomorrow, specifically, but at least it will be getting

better, the morning really again the worst in terms of the rain that we have to deal with, again shall specially true to the north and west, but for now at least we can promise you this, things will warm up nicely by comparison, yesterday we couldn't break out of the 70s, today, we do just that, and actually hit pretty typical 87 degrees hi, later this afternoon, with even some breaks of sunshine, won't that be a nice change every pace, meisha? >> yes, it will be very nice to see this sunday. just got to get through the gloom this morning. outside, things looking okay, visible issues, fog we're dealing with out there. so looking at the schuylkill, just looking at the schuylkill at city avenue push in the westbound direction, and i would say for very early friday morning, in the 5:00 hour, we are seeing levels heat up little bit quicker than what we typically do, probably because you're hearing visible, maybe seeing some rain little later, hopefully not during our main bulk of the morning rush. we will see what happens. blue route, ridge pike, taillights southbound direction, what we are looking at there overall, same sorry as the schuylkill. and we do have vehicle fire out there. so this vehicle fire, 59 north, route 141, two right

attacks. a philadelphia father is charged after his nine month old baby had to be revived with a opioid reversing drug in manayunk. police returned to this home on the 200 block evergreen lane around 6:30, wednesday night. there they found 35 year old steven welch's daughter unresponsive with a needle in her leg. paramedics revived the babe way dose of narcan. that's treatment used to reverse the effect every opioid overdose. residents say the opioid epidemic has become a common crisis. >> not surprising at all that there are heroin addict all over the place, i know a few off the top of my head. >> he said he put the needles on his bed while cleaning his room, and put his daughter down while making his bed. he's now charged. >> a lot of people are cherishing their personal piece of atlantic city casino history this morning. we told you yesterday, about the former trump taj mahal liquidation sale and hundreds turned out. everything must go over the next 60 days, president trump

actually less this past year than it was six years ago when there were only nine casinos. >> in other news this morning, vigil is being held for philando castile, the man shot and killed by police officer in minnesota on this anniversary of his death. family and friends gathered for philando's celebration of life last night. this was the one year anniversary of 32 year old's death during a traffic stop. officer pulled the trigger fatally shooting castile, second after castile told the officer he had a gun. last month a jury found him not guilty of manslaughter. >> and today also marks the one year anniversary of the deadly police shooting in downtown dallas. memorial cast dedicated to the five members of law enforcement who made the ultimate sacrifice, correspondent don champion has more from dallas. >> dallas is still grieving. but there are signs of healing, a year after the worse attack on law enforcement since 9/11. a weekends of honor is

anything that sounds like a planned speech. i want it to just be my thoughts, coming out, from me to them. >> the department is also struggling to recruit new officers, after losing more than 400 in the last year due to retirement, and issues with pensions. don champion, cbs-3, "eyewitness news." meantime, septa police officer risk his own life pulling an injured driver from a burning car, and the heroic efforts, all caught on camera. last friday after 1:00 a.m. authorities ceasar gent mark pass did a role an on patrol when he came upon the burning car that slammed into the back after trash truck. just stoked spare, he and passerby, doctor, raised to get the unconscious driver out of the lock car. >> i kept slipping on the engine oil, actually really concerned me, because the front of the car is on fire, i'm worried about the engine, that catching fire, and then engulfing me and the passerby. >> and that officer and the

good samaritan were able to pull the driver to safety. that driver was hospital in the serious condition. >> we are seeing new video of american airlines jet that caught fire in chicago's o'hare airport last october. the ntsb released this video, part of their preliminary report on the fire. as they try and determine what caused the plane's right engine to burst into flames. the report describes chaos on board the plane, as passengers moved to the left side, and pleaded when flight attendant to evacuate the cabin. the ntsb investigation is expected to take several months. >> up next: i'll tell you big names headlining a music festival ahead of the g20 summit. plus this. >> i'm nancy odel, coming up: just your average kid trying to balance school, family, being superhero. and spiderman, homecoming. >> then, meet two police officers, who are getting recognized for their act every kindness to a disable veteran. they mode his front lawn for him. we will be right back.

overlooking moravian college. you can at least make out the mountain in the distance, but very skewed shot, a lot of cloud cover, certainly have seen worse visibility in other locations south of this, so keep in mind, that visibility may slow you down, but certainly, specially north, you'll see that reflect dollars in the radar in a second, rain also a concern. and there are places like bethlehem that may end one some flooding out of this this morning, as well, flood advisory will remain in effect toward evening for that zone, so our eyewitness weather watchers critical on days like there is because they give us sense what's going on. i think the folks in delaware are either sleeping in or cleaning up from flooding, right around this section, southwestern new castle, northwestern kent county very serious flooding take place with at least 5 inches of rain in some of the spots from yesterday. now, fran the closest observation we had to the zone. but he actually only pick up just over half inch of rain over the course of time, so far anyway. but he is still reporting some fog, as we mention tax will be issue for some you throughout the course of the day. far to the north, though, keith is up.

he's reporting the rain coming down in full force right now, mention the flooding on some of the roadways up had it way, so drive carefully, again we go to the raider, see this, i want to show you handful of just different damage reports that came in over the course of yesterday. townsend was hot spot. day trip flooded, vehicles stranded in the flood waters, low-lying fields flooded out in townsend, then in vandike, new castle county shall washed out roadway. this is just sampling of some of the issues that had gone on down that way from the heavy rain, now has been transported, up this way, s so i78, part of 81, northeast extension, route 22, you're the folks that will have to deal with flooded roadways trying to travel to and from work, just headed up that way for maybe pocono get away. keep it in minds. here's how the weekend does look, if you are headed up that way not all bad. only get better from here. perhaps left over shower early tomorrow. skies gradually clearment up in the mountains, it is gorgeous, sunday, highs mid 70s, geosphere fiction, nice and crisp air, i think the

eastbound 422 your best bet, heads up. just congestion levels building around the area as well, vehicle fire happened earlier, clean up still in the process, 95 northbound route 141, two right lanes still blocked there, jim, back over to you. >> thank you shall meisha. well woman at florida gas station fight back against a brazen purse snatch earn. take a look, police say the suspect snatched the woman's purse, as she was pumping her gas. as the suspect jumped back into his get-away car, the woman, well, she jumped in, too, and tried to wrestle her purse away. that's when the suspect hit the gas, and hits another car. the woman was able to save her purse, but the suspect did get away with her wallet. >> two police officers in texas meanwhile are helping inspire other. >> the pair spotted disable man struggling to mow his lawn, so they did it for him. navy veteran robert upshaw mowing his lawn tuesday. he lost both of his legs after serving due to medical conditions. he said it could take his days
