right now at 11:00, get ready for sweltering heat. when it could feel like triple digits. >> pipeline fight. how one community is trying to stop work on the controversial project from continuing. >> but first, searching for clues. authorities comb a bucks county property as they investigate the disappearance of four men. this as police arrest a man who may be connected to the case.

that man is behind bars tonight on unrelated charges. good evening, everyone. i'm ukee washington. >> and i'm jessica dean. eyewitness news reporter greg argos is live with the latest on this investigation. greg? >> reporter: and jessica, officials are calling this a criminal investigation. they're trying to figure out exactly what happened to those four young men who went missing last week and they do say foul play is suspected in their appearance. >> investigators in bucks county are not calling him a suspect in the disappearance, but sources say he may be connected. this afternoon police arresting dinardo on unrelated weapons charges. chopper 3 showing officers escorting him into the bucks county correctional facility $1 million bond. >> this investigation the leads are incredibly hot, they're very fruit al. we're making great progress but

there is so much more work do. >> we've been treating this as a criminal investigation. >> reporter: each went missing within days of each other and for most of monday the center of attention has been in this property owned by the dinardo family. >> we dedicated a ton of resources there. >> investigators recovering evidence from another dinardo property. >> i know them very well. a neighbor says he's surprised at the attention and believes there is some sort of mix-up. >> cosmo was always a great kid. helps me out. >> investigators believe these two properties may contain the evidence which will lead them to the four missing men and it could be some time before the

evidence is recovered. >> i have a feeling, i wish i didn't, but i have a feeling we're going to be meeting like this for quite a few days. so i'm continuing to ask for your patience and your prayers for these young men. >> still many unanswered questions. tonight ukee and jessica the district attorney here in bucks county expected to hold a press conference here tomorrow to update us on the latest on this investigation. for now we're live here in bucks county, i'm greg argos. >> we now know the identity of a man stabbed to death during a barring larry yesterday. 26-year-old james r.doyle was stabbed by a resident allegedly after breaking into a home. police say the resident stabbed another suspect as well. authorities are now trying to determine if a man treated for stab wounds in a hospital in willing borrow is connected to that incident. >> two boys have confessed to being involved in this attack.

the boys admitted they were part of the assault on mark smith back in may. video of the attack went viral after it was posted on social media. the boys were charge as juveniles. they will learn their punishment next month. members of the newcastle, delaware community will honor a woman killed in a crash. the woman died after her vehicle plowed into an aspca. tonight her mother thanked the first responders for their efforts. >> we thank you all so much. i lost my voice from crying so much. my daughter was my friend. now i have to take on her five kids. god going to give me the strength to do it and i'm going to do it. >> the spca announced a room will be named after cooper when it is rebuilt.

>> a pennsylvania judge will soon decide if there's enough evidence to send 16 former members of a penn state former fraternity to trial. there was a continuation of their preliminary hearing. the former members are facing various charges in connection with the death of timothy piazza. the 19-year-old died in february after a night of drinking during an alleged hazing ritual. attorneys for the piazza family and defendant joseph enz spoke outside court today. >> jim piazza told me from the courthouse to the car that there wasn't a moment today that he couldn't stop thinking about his son tim. this is a terrible tragedy. the enz family feels absolutely compassionate and deeply sorry about the loss of this young man. but we can't equate tragedy with criminality. >> the hearing will continue tomorrow. >> the fight is continuing

against sunoco's natural gas liquid's pipeline where city officials are trying to put a stop to the work. eyewitness news reporter is in west goshen tonight with the effort to end the project. >> reporter: this is just the latest controversy for this natural gas liquids pipeline that sunoco is building right now west goshen says all of the activity, all the machinery you see behind me, it shouldn't be here and they're trying to stop this project. the heavy equipment is ready to go but west goshen township says sunoco should not be building this. >> there wasn't going to be any above-ground facilities except at their existing station and we're trying to stop putting anything on this particular piece of property. >> reporter: attorney for the township filed an emergency injunction with the pennsylvania public utilities commission to stop sunoco from doing any more work and that's a relief to residents. >> i think they should at least

make sure that the pipeline is headed in the right direction and is safe for all people are going to be around. >> reporter: sunoco has clashed with local communities off and on since the planning for the pipe. >> reporter: just last week neighbors blamed the company for brown water and in some cases no water flowing into their homes. they also say sunoco did not tell people about the problems in a timely manner. >> they should have contacted us a week and a half or two weeks ago when they know they poked a hole in the well. >> reporter: all the issues have called lawmakers to call for a complete shutdown until there's more oversight. an additional concern is that construction workers have blocked goshen firefighters from easily accessing their garage though we found out that's been somewhat resolved. >> that's been worked out. they haven't been parking here and the other part of that is they also know that at all times they need to be out of the way if we have calls and so forth.

>> reporter: a spokesman for sunoco tells me in a brief statement the company is in compliance with all of its agreements. we're expecting the utilities commission to make some sort of preliminary ruling tomorrow. >> henry, thank you. new tonight an active duty u.s. army soldier in hawaii has been arrested by the fbi on terrorism charges. a law enforcement official says the soldier was arrested because of his connections to isis. he has served in iraq and afghanistan. >> calls are growing on capitol hill for the president's oldest son, donald trump jr. to testify before a senate panel. this after he admitted to meeting last year with a russian layer to claimed to have damaging information on hillary clinton. >> reporter: members of the senate intelligence committee want to question donald trump jr. about his meeting with a

russian lawyer during last year's presidential election. >> it's remarkable that this meeting, one, was not reported beforehand. >> reporter: the meeting which occurred on june 9th at trump tower involved a russian lawyer, donald trump jr., his brother-in-law and then-campaign chairman. donald trump jr. admitted the attorney was offering potentially damaging details about hillary clinton, but she had no meaningful information to provide. >> the intelligence committee clearly should interview donald trump, jr. as well as everyone who was present at that meeting. that's the only way that we will fully understand what happened. >> reporter: after criticizing the media for covering the story, donald trump jr. tweeted he would be happy to work with the committee to pass on what i know. the white house maintains there was nothing inappropriate about what occurred. >> there was simply know collusion that they keep trying

to create there was. >> in terms of direct contact wen the russians and the trump campaign, it's a fact. >> reporter: donald trump jr. has hired a criminal attorney. >> the controversial meeting was arranged by a music publicist who represents a russian pop star. that pop star's father is a russian billionaire connected to putin. >> tom wolfe has let an unbalanced budget bill become law without his signature. he had until midnight to decide what to do after a stalemate. they were unable to close a $2 billion hole in the budget. there are questions about the constitutionality about the budget bill becoming law without a plan in place to pay for it. in new jersey governor chris christie's approval rating continues to plummet.

a poll puts his approval rating at 15%. the governor is already looking for work after he leaves office next year. he is auditioning as a host on wfan a sports radio station in new york city. today he was filling in and is scheduled to fill in again on the show tomorrow. straight ahead tonight, a large brush fire burns near a popular tourist attraction in florida. >> plus a refly traveled stretch of road about to get some much-needed improvements. what's being done to make it safer for drivers and pedestrians. >> also that cup of coffee may not just help you wake up in the morning. why research suggests the beverage will help you live longer. >> high temperatures topped right around average today as we head into this week heat and humidity soar as well as a chance for storms each day and i'll let you know what to expect

more than 6,000 firefighters are battling more than a dozen large wild fires across california. the flames quickly spread forcing hundreds of people to evacuate campgrounds. another fire only 36 miles away has burned at least 24,000 acres. >> it's a very manageable fire right now. what we have here is a backing fire that is burning down very low intensity. >> firefighters are also battling large fires in arizona, colorado and nevada. firefighters in florida battled a large brush fire burning close to kennedy space center. you see that thick cloud of

smoke over the nasa facility. it started burning saturday near the space center's visitor complex but no buildings have been damaged. >> a section of route 1 in delaware county is getting work done. >> you can see a bird's eye view of some of the stretch of township line road. penn dot will add a fifth center turn lane from the quarry shopping center all the way down to state road. speed radar signs will be added and anti-skid asphalt will be installed. >> this is going to narrow the travel lanes. it will slow cars down and put that center turn lane in there therefore cars traveling north or south won't have to jockey around. >> most of the work will go on at night. it's expected to be completed in a month. septa conductors are checking tickets again.

the change affects riders at temple, jefferson, suburban, 30 street and university city stations weekdays between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. conductors stopped checking tickets last summer. travelers also have to get their tickets inspected and punched. >> a new iphone is expected to be unveiled this fall and some tech buffs are estimating the gadget may cost $1200 for more. they believe apple is facing supply constraints due to the new technology and that's what will lead to the higher price tag. developers have reportedly created mock-ups of the phone's touch screen taking up the entire front side of the phone, a trend consistent with competing phones. >> on the health watch, coffee lovers rejoice after years of conflicting information about whether drinking coffee is good for you or not, two big studies released today say drinking more coffee can help you live longer and according to those studies

it doesn't matter whether it's regular or decalf. the studies show anti oxidants can have an effect on the body. >> i love coffee. before today i was thinking about cutting back but that's not going to be the case anymore. >> reporter: in one study researchers found people who drink one cup of coffee a day are 12% less likely to die than noncoffee drinkers. people consuming 2-3 cups per day reduce their chances by 18%. it's important to remember though that caffeinated coffee is a stimulant. >> authorities rescued a bear cub after it got its head stuck in a jug. you can see the bear cub struggling. got the jug off and once that happened physical therapy cub darted away. the bear seemed to be just fine. >> nice job.

>> going to be okay. >> lauren has got your forecast. going to be steaming up soon. >> getting steamy. been pleasant certainly by july standards but get ready for some dog days of summer hanging around over the next several days as the heat and humidity will be in full effect but it's a pleasant evening this monday. nice and quiet, 79 degrees bit of a breeze in the south and feeling like 81 degrees when you factor in that touch of humidity but it certainly will be more than a touch of humidity as we head through mid week. this week a front stalls just to our north will keep us locked into hot and humid air mass. spawning thunderstorms each day not widespread but storms that do develop will be heavy intensity rainfall and also the potential for gusty winds especially through the day tomorrow. temperatures right now not feeling too bad. middle 70s along the coast, mid 70s in the lehigh valley, 60s in the poconos, 79 degrees in

wilmington. dew points tell us how humid it feels when you step outside. dew points are a better measure than relative humidity of how sticky it feels because relative humidity changes dependent upon the air temperature, dew point does not it remains constant. that sticky factor is increasing and that's going to be the trend over the next couple of days. oppressive humidity tomorrow. same case on wednesday and unsufferable humidity levels as we head into thursday. we're going to combine that with near-record heat on thursday. our feels-like temperatures will be in the 100-degree range. 96 on thursday. the record in philadelphia 98 degrees setback in 1994. overnight tonight probably need that ac, partly cloudy with a clans of an isolated shower west of the city and for our tuesday, hot and humid with spotty

thunderstorms, high temperature soaring up to 94 degrees. we have a bit of a breeze, it will be a hot breeze with winds out of the southwest at 15. storm scan shower activity trying to move in but not doing a very successful job of that. a couple of drip drops in and around mount pocono. we had an area of shower storm activity dramatically weakening over the next several hours. that trend will continue so i don't think those showers will make its way toward the i-95 corridor. could see a few showers up towards allentown, the poconos over the next several hours. quiet tuesday morning commute but as we head into the afternoon hours well start to see those cells firing off but check out the red em bedded within these cells. these cells will have heavy or potentially torrential rainfall with it but it could be impactful locally. a few spotty storms lingering as we wind down into the second half of the evening.

down the shore mostly sunny, hot on the sand potentially in the low 90s. a little windy as well. rip current risk will be moderate so be aware of that and make sure to swim in front of a lifeguard. wednesday 92 degrees. hit or miss thunderstorms, still quite steamy and we're up to 96 on thursday. storm chance on friday but that's when we start to feel a little bit more comfortable. lower humidity and high temperatures in the middle 80s, as opposed to middle 90s. >> leslie's up next with sports. >> the mlb all-star game, everyone waiting to see the power display aaron judge would put on, but sixers fans
