>> ♪ >> live from the cbs broadcast center in philadelphia, this is cbs3 "eyewitness news." >> developing now at noon authorities are making moral progress in the search for four missing men. investigators have identified the body of one victim found in a grave on a bucks county farm along with other human remains. and this is the view from chopper three live over that scene in solebury township as authorities continue to dig for more clues in this bizarre case. and despite all of the progress, police say a lot of work still needs to be done. good afternoon, i'm rahel solomon. >> and i'm jim donovan. we have live team coverage of this developing story. we begin whip "eyewitness news" reporter trang do.

she's live in solebury township where officials just wrapped up a news conference within the hour. good afternoon, trang. >> reporter: well, good afternoon, jim and rahel. at this point bucks county d.a. matt weintraub still not able to identify those other human remains found in that common grave just down the road from here on that property and they continue to search that property but they're not able to identify those additional remains but what we know at this point is that 19-year-old dean finocchiaro seen in this photo has been identified after being recovered from a 12 and a half foot grave on the solebury property owned by the family of cosmo dinardo. the d.a. is still not calling dinardo a suspect but rather a person of interest. investigators continue to search the site identified by the cadaver dog. the other three persons are still considered missing though the d.a. has said

finocchiaro's death is considered a homicide. investigators are working extremely hard but have not yet identified the other remains found in this very deep grave. >> they're combing through vast fields and buildings. they're down 12 feet deep in a hole that's getting deeper by the minute. they're tenderly, painstaking ly referentially recovering the remains of people that they do not even know, that they never even met. >> reporter: and meanwhile jimi patrick's grandparents who he lived with he's one of the missing men they released a statement to the media. they identified him as a rising soft more at loyola university in baltimore. they said he graduated from holy ghost in bensalem wasn't a skilled baseball player. meanwhile the d.a. also releasing a new tip line to the public and encouraging the

public to continue to call in with information. that tip line is one-800- one-800-call-fbi. rahel and jim back to you. >> thank thank you. now let's tow to -- to jan carabeo. good afternoon, jan. >> reporter: rahel as you know there is just so many secrecy that surrounds any grand jury but here's what we know right now. we know that both of cosmo dinardo's parents were subpoenaed to appear before a grand jury at the bucks county courthouse earlier this morning. other than that that everyone here has remained tight lipped about what's happening inside and the specific questions that will be asked. take a look at the video. "eyewitness news" spotted high profile attorney perry representing cos dinardo's

parents. yesterday the prosecution wouldn't say if they were assisting police in this investigation but perry released a statement saying the dinardos were cooperating. that statement reads as and parents mr. and mrs. dinardo sympathize with the parents and the families of the missing young men and they are cooperating in every way possible with the investigation being conducted by law enforcement. meantime the search at their 90-acre property in solebury township is intensifying overnight as you heard investigators found human remains there in a common grave. no comment about that here this morning. so, again, cosmo dinardo's parents have been subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury here. as we know it's the role of any grand jury to determine whether there's enough evidence for criminal charges to be brought. the d.a. has called this a case of homicide now. they're still determining how many homicides they're dealing with and cosmo dinardo is still called a person of interest at this point. we are hoping to farve up --

catch up with layer perri. jim and rahel back to you. >> jan thank you. be sure to stay with "eyewitness news" as the search for the missing men continues to unfold as soon as there are new developments we'll have them on tv and of course on line at cbsphilly.com. >> ly in other news i think we're officially in the dog days of summer. an excessive heat warning in effect until 8 o'clock tonight. we saw lots of people braving the heat to go for a run. dogs were keeping cool with a dip in the pool. cbs3 meteorologist kate fehlinger joins us live with a look at the temperatures. it's another scorcher. >> indeed. you said it an excessive heat warning in effect. it start as of 11:00 a.m. and we have a heat advisory to till about so it kind of depends where you are which one you've got. in the lehigh valley and the poconos you don't have any advisories or alerts but it's

hot everywhere and you'll see that reflected in the thermometer readings in a second but here's the deal. you can't really go by the thermometer readings on day like this. you have to factor in the humidity. it will feel as hot as the lower triple digits and we're finding that reported in the feels like temperatures. here you go. dover, oh, my goodness, it feels like 107 degrees down that way. more like 98 at philadelphia international airport. more like the upper 90's up and down i-95 in general and in through south jersey it feels more like the triple digits as well so very, very steamy conditions out here and there are a lot of people that have to go out in this for whatever reason. so, if you're one of them, you really need to just be paying close attention to your body, packing extra water in the cooler before you head off to work and also of course just making sure you're taking frequent breaks, that kind of thing. all common sense but this is one of those days you got to really pay attention to that. at the moment on storm scan3 not much to report. however there's a high likelihood that a severe thunderstorm watch is going to be issued later on this

afternoon and we are expecting some rounds of showers and storms to rumble through here. they could be locally strong and that does mean some heavy downpours maybe some other impact which we'll discuss a little later in the show but in the meantime for now, to the big story, of course, is that heat and that humidity. officially we're shooting for a daytime high of 96 degrees but once more, that heat index is the number you really want to pay attention to. guys, back in to you. >> thank you, katie. authorities in east goshen warning residents to lock their doors as they hunt for two suspects connected to a string of home burglaries. police say two women used stolen credit cards at various stores along woodland avenue in southwest philadelphia. investigators determined those credit cards were stolen from a home in westtown township last saturday. that same night police say a black jeep was stolen from a drive way less than a mile away on west hill top road and two weeks before that a home on gates wood drive in east goshen was ransacked and a car was stolen there. that car was later found

abandoned in southwest philadelphia. >> atlantic city casinos appear to be benefiting from online gambling. ac's seven casinos made almost exactly much in their physical buildings last month as they did in 2016 but an increase of more than 23 percent in online gambling gave the city a total monthly increase of 1.8 percent. the golden nugget had the largest increase and only caesar's posted a loss. your ride on the new jersey transit system may get more comfortable. the agency plans to replace the state's oldest rail cars with more than 100 self propelled multilevel electric rail cars. the new cars reportedly havely roomier two person seats. new buses will be added to the fleet. the upgrades are part of a spending plan that the agency says will keep fares stable. >> new this noon the senate judiciary committee chairman says he's asking donald trump to testify over his meeting with a russian lawyer months before the election last year.

meantime president trump is standing by his eldest son. we have the latest from the white house. >> reporter: president trump is defending his son's decision to meet with a russian lawyer who promised to deliver dirt on hillary clinton. the president told reuters news agency i think many people would have held that meeting. donald trump jr. released an e-mail exchange with a music publicist who coordinated the meeting. the supposed compromising material on clinton came directly from the russian government to help his father win the election. president trump insists russia wanted clinton, not him to win. but cbs news has confirmed intelligence sources intercepted russian officials talking about how to influence the election as far back as 2015. then last spring they began discussing how to help trump win. special counsel robert muller as well as the intelligence committees in both the house and senate are investigating whether the trump campaign's digital operation coordinated with the russians to target voters with fake news stories

on facebook and twitter. >> if there was any kind of coordination on on the timing of the pushing of either negative stories or false stories by russian social media trolls, that's something we need to know. >> reporter: mr. kushner oversaw the trump campaign's digital team. cbs3 "eyewitness news." >> meantime president trump is in france today meeting with the country's new leader. the president and first lady visited a military museum and the tomb of nap pole len earlier. president trump and president emmanuel macron are expected to hold a joint press conference shortly. stay tuned. we're standing by for a special report and we'll bring you that press conference live right here on cbs3. >> winning many ucla students are back in their dorms today after being evacuated when someone called in a bomb threat to the university's rec center. some students were sent to a campus stadium while others were told to shelter-in-place. police swept the campus for explosives for about two hours. they let everyone go home when it was determined the searched areas were safe.

>> welcome back. dashcam footage from that southern china shows the moment a mudslide hit a busy road full of cars. the cars start out inching along until they're swept away in a massive wave of earth. eight people were buried. it's not clear if anyone was seriously hurt. >> a rescue mission of sorts is under way at new york's j.f.k. airport. these diamondback turtles have been spotted on the run with recently feet from where they should be in nearby jamaica bay. wildlife officials say the turtles are looking for a place to lay their eggs. fencing and tubing put up to keep the reptiles out of harm's way but some still manage to get through. once caught they're tagged and immediately released back into their natural habitat. >> a florida man facing drug trafficking charges after

you're likely to see at least the possibility of a shower very heavy thunderstorm. already some really strong storms have been rumbling through upstate new york. there's a flash that you see on this, it's just a weird thing going on with the radar animation but we may see some of our own natural flashes with the lightning strikes that come with the thunderstorms rumbling in and that does mean that we sit in the possibility here for some severe weather later today. actually this is an update for you since we came on the air a the colors may be off here. your green shaded areas is for marginal risk but now a slight risk has been issued for the rest of the region here in the shade of yellow. in other words, now we up the ante. the possibility is even a little stronger that we end up with storms producing heavy downpours gusty winds and as well as small hail. let's jump it forward here. i think we still probably have about an hour or two before things start to get closer to us but come 3:00 p.m. or so, according to future weather anyway some of these storm cells begin to ignite and they'll be brief but very

heavy downpours that rumble in here and possibly in time for some of you to be headed home from work. so do keep it in mind. again it will be scattered, that's the key word out of this but until that rumbles through will be locally heavy. now, tomorrow pretty much any time is fair game but second half of the day these storms would mean business and if it comes through in time for 5:00 p.m. and it's over phoenixville, i know that the guys up in the news room are planning a backup plan for blobfest and everything else so i wouldn't say necessarily don't say come out and say hi to the gang but bring a umbrella. there's a serious clash that will take place in the atmosphere if we'll wipe the storm from the heat and humidity and that's where the storms come in. air quality if you fall into the sensitive category, kids elderly respiratory problems u.v. index of course it's very high and the heat index you have to put the word dangerous on there. make sure you're taking care of yourself. in the meantime outside
