much of the area under excessive heat warning until 8:00 tonight. more details on that. >> yes, happy friday, everyone, yes, really the heat. in the world of travel, some construction we're waiting on, also one minor accident. but oh, the heat for a lot of people. >> one thing i am glad about, have to deal with construction, at least we know the guys and gals in the hard hat are doing it now before the sun starts to take. a lot of people that have to be out in this, so we really want you to take care for yet another day. as you guys mention, he can he is i have heat warning still in effect for philly and basically the surrounding vicinity. out to storm scan, you won't find a heck of a lot. all pretty quiet out there at this hour, little speckles of green not verifying as actual precipitation out there. we do have few clouds here and there, at the moment, though, already feels like it is 87 degrees. now, sometimes the dover observation can be a little skewed. the point is, though, you walk out the door, and it might as well be daytime high in july. how much it, will certainly spike a lot higher than this with the sun not even up yet.

road, flashing lights here, so just pull that to your tai attention. one of the areas that certainly can start to slow you down as we push little deeper into the 5:00 hour. looking outside, accident here in east norriton, still out there, swede road, evergreen avenue, knawl to your attention, if that's your neighborhood. then down the shore, downed wires from earlier accident route nine closed at route 83, you will have to use alternate. garden state parkway going to be your best bet for now. rahel, back over to you. >> meisha, thank you. more now on our breaking news, a deadly shooting in tioga, searching for two gunmen left man in wheelchair dead, had i caretaker injured. jan carabeo live at temple university hospital. with more now on the breaking news dollars good morning, jan. >> rahel, good morning, what a scary incident overnight for this tioga household, as you mentioned, nan in wheelchair shot and killed his caretaker shot and injured, brought here to temple university hospital for, now in stable condition. all the while, as this gunfire errupted, there was family in

the upstairs bedroom of this house, a woman and four children. fortunately, they were not injured. take a look at the videoment you can see how police have been working the scene all night, early morning, this is a large scene there in tioga. one that stretches from the house down the block. this is the 3300 block of gratz street. police say it was just before midnight that they got the call about this shooting. when they arrived, they found a 51 year old man in the street, shot in the leg, that was the caretaker. they also found a 36 year old man lying next to his wheelchair, inside of this very own living room, shot in the held, and medics pronounced him dead inside every his home. that man in a wheelchair and his care take her arrived home for the evening, in fact, the care take her just helped him up the steps, and inside, when two armed men forced their way in. the man in the wheelchair, was actually struggling to keep the door closed when he was shot and killed. as the suspect started run away, they saw the caretaker and chased him down the street firing shots all along the way, hittin hit once in the leg.

meantime, upstairs, the whole time, a woman and four kids. take a listen. >> right now, we don't have a motive for the shooting. but it appears if this is a home invasion homicide. upstairs at the time were family members. there was 61 year old female, and there were four other juveniles, ages 15, two-seven jerold twins, and four year old. >> again, fortunately, they were not injured. in the meantime there is morning, police are looking for two gunmen, that caretaker in stable condition. reporting live in north philadelphia, jan carabeo, cbs-3 "eyewitness news," back into you. >> thank you. developing story this morning, at least two people are dead and more than 100 injured in a earthquake on a greek island in the mediterranian sea. shows much. damage on the islands of kos. the earthquake struck 1:30 a.m. local time, damaged strung tours, modern highrises, the possibility of after shocks forced people to

sleep outdoors. the magnitude 6.5 earthquake triggered a tsunami which flooded beachfront areas. >> the new york times is reporting president trump's lawyers are looking into the backgrounds of investigators working on the russian meddling case. the times says trump's team of lawyers are searching for possible conflicts of interest, so they can use that to discredit council robert muller's investigation, russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. washington post reports the president's lawyers are also discussing the president's authority to grant pardon to aids, family members, and even himself. happening today, u.s. attorney general, jeff sessions, comes to center city to speak out against so-called sanctuary cities like philadelphia. sanctuary cities are those that refuse to allow local police to act as immigration agents. meanwhile, zest cents is brushing off calls for his resignation after weathering criticism from president trump. the white house says the president has confidence in sessions, and despite that criticism, over session's re

crews al from the russian investigation, analysts say sessions original crime fighting agenda is being overshadowed by his relationship with the president. and an update now, the ban on laptops in the cabins every planes flying over the middle east through the us. it is over. federal officials say large airport in the region have taken other steps to increase security, including electronic scanning and increase screening. >> well, today is the funeral for one of the victims of the recent bucks county killings. police say jimi patrick from newtown was murdered july 5th by cosmo dinardo after a drug transaction gone wrong. two memorial services were held for him earlier in the week. patrick's family will receive condolence frost 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church of saint andrew in newtown, followed by funeral mass and private interment. at 7:00 tonight friends and family will hold candlelight vigil for all four of the victims at delaware valley university in doylestown township. >> and, two of the four victims were laid to rest yesterday. "eyewitness news" was at the floor funeral home in bensalem last night where family and

friends bid final farewell to 22 year old mark sturgis, earlier a funeral was held for tomes meo in the northeast. >> authorities in bucks county say the farm owned by cosmo dinardo's family still considered a crime scene. investigators search for more evidence on the farm, where the four victims bod wrist found last week, chopper three over the scene. the philadelphia police department's k9 unit assisted in the search. bucks countcounty d.a.'s offerst could release the farm back to dinardo's family. >> tragedy in south jersey after two brothers drowned in a lake in vineland. officials say 27 year old saul and 30 year old otto kneel vargus were swimming autocrime tal lake thursday. authorities believe one brother may have been trying to save the other. the lake is former sand quarry. there are signs posted nearby that say no swimming. >> septa police have released body camera footage of shooting in kensington earlier this week.

>> a frightening explosion rock the food shop in eastern china during the morning rush. take a look. this happened earlier today in the resort city of hangzhou. no word yet on what caused it. >> closer to home, fire fight remembers continuing to battle a large forest fire in south jersey. take a look, chopper three over the wharton state forest in washington township burlington county. flames have consumed about 1,000 acres, at last check the fire only 31% contained, no homes or people have been threatened. the cause of this fire is

unknown. >> a recent survey is raising some red flags, about the crab population in the chesapeake bay area. while it shows historic amounts of spawning female crans, it is also sounding alarm about future populations, correspondent weijia jiang in maryland now with more. >> at the crab house in annapolis, business is booming. bruce says his staff have seen about 70 bushels of crabs every weekend. >> we try to give everybody a full crab that bee k but the smaller crabs always seem to be fuller, little sweetner but it is not only demand that determines the supplies. it is also nature. state officials in maryland, and virginia, recently releasereleasealarming data frol dredge survey, which measures the overall crab population. it showed the bay has nearly 100 million fewer crustations than last year. water men like captain frank tuma do their part to protect future harvest, which drives this charter boat.

and then finding the meat. >> the way of life. weijia jiang, for cbs-3, "eyewitness news." so katie we should just took the words out of my mouth, nothing says summer like crabs, and nothing says summer like a heatwave, too. >> what would summer in philadelphia be without a nice dangerous heatwave, right? >> yes. >> that's the thing, i think it is important to also realize that this isn't a high def story, something we're used to seeing but worth talking about because whether it comes up we have to be, you know, a lot more cognizant, paying a lot more attention to how we feel when out in this kind of heatment and taking extra care, specially, if you must be out in this for hours at a time, extra water goes in your cooler before go to the site. light loose fitting clothing before go to the work site, freak went breaks in the shade, being factored in, better yet finds the ac for couple every minute. all of that kind of stuff is common sense type things but
