area, in center city. so, that's the good news for usment taking a look, up to our northern neighbors there in the lehigh valley up near bern ville, reading, still shower activity for you folks, 68 degrees this morning. up in bernville, take a look at storm scan3, you can see, those showers moving toward the reading area, but we are relatively dry, for the time being, here in philly and across south jersey and northern delaware, as well. now, we do still have our flashflood warning, that is in effect, for part of northern delaware and chester county then also for few areas in south jersey as well. now our flashflood warning in south jersey going to expire 6:15, however, our flashflood warning for west every philly. 89 degrees, what we're looking at for high temperature this afternoon, hopefully see a

little bit of sunshine break through the cloud cover. meisha we're going to need to dry out because there are just tons and tons of water out on the roads here this morning you. >> bet there is, matt. looking at so many camera shots, so many problem areas, and a lot of which you can actually see the pooling water so, first of all, let's talk about an accident out there. schuylkill westbound, girard avenue, the left lane is compromised. and then before then the accident, you will run into disable vehicle, as well, disable vehicle westbound at montgomery drive. looks like all lanes of traffic are blocked right now. so keeping it off to the shoulder is good. because this is by the way we have people out on the roadway walking around, so just be very, very careful. this is only adding to some of the other pressures, weather-related pressures we have out there, like the flooding. so another accident, very quickly, involving a jackknife tractor-trailer looks like they might be getting this remedy for you right now. fifty-nine south at the vine, all lanes blocked. but you wouldn't even make it up that far, because of some

flooding on 95. ninety-five south at the vine, all lanes are currently block here. again, this is before where you get up where they're cleaning up the jackknife tractor-trailer being dif other dollars off the vine. fifty-nine south around the vine, leading to up it, starting to get some really good backups around that area. if you can give yourselves some time for that to clear, that's probably good. otherwise, just going to factor in extra time into your morning commute. then flooding here, 59 south, or north and south, rather, at near broad street, and electrical fire caused by downed wires in jersey, route 168 black horse pike northbound ramp through 42 northbound right now closed, more to come in the next 15 minute, jim, back over to you. >> thank you shall meisha. strong storms over night mean some people are dealing with flooding this morning. "eyewitness news" in ocean city cape may county, storm water filled a local parking lot, late last night, there was even a tornado warning for that area so far local officials haven't reported any serious damage. >> mother nature put on quite a show as storm passed through south jersey, "eyewitness news

" viewer captain mike rothman captured this incredible footage of waterspout in cumberland county happened around 4:00. you can see it moving through the clouds, thank you for sharing this video, amazing stuff there. heavy downpours have already left some local communities with a good amount of standing water caught them going through dangerous water sections, water came up to the doors on this jeans remember, even if just a little bit of water, it can still sweep your car away during a storm. red cross section in philadelphia, no injuries in the fire that broke out around midnight on the 1600 block of second street. several force from the their homes and out into the rain. it is not clear if they were grabbing any belongings before the apartments were evacuated. also, no word on the cause of the fire. >> crews have fully contained the fire in wharton state

forest burlington county. officials say the size of the fire still at 3500 acres, but is now under control. no front or lives were threatened. trails near the fire remain closed. it has been burning since thursday afternoon. they've been monitoring overnight still no word on what caused this fire. >> happening today the historic swearing in of philadelphia's new i am err i am district attorney. will take the oath of office during the noontime ceremony at city hall to become the city's first african-american female district attorney. her appointment fills the position left vacant last month whether former d.a. seth williams resigned after pleading guilty to federal corruption charge. hodges will serve until either republican bet grossman or democrat larry krasner takes over in january. >> also, today, this man, william, will be sentenced for the shooting after philadelphia police bike officer. shot and wounded officer daniel cost i can in april of 2015 near 50th and master in west philadelphia. was able to return fire and

>> crest cue crews in northern kentucky plan to re sum the search. >> eighty-two year old victim's home apparently swept away by flood waters early sunday morning in august gust that, hour north of lexington, authorities spent the daylight hours yesterday searching debris field that stretched for 2 miles, they say still too early to call the search effort a recovery mission. >> well, flashflooding makes it nearly impossible for family to escape their lake front property, in up-state new york. rushing water surrounded the home but we're told that the family had a raft. authority say the residents used the raft to get to a neighbor's house, until that water receded. look at. that will. >> well, south jersey has been specially hit hard, hard hit by storm overnight. >> "eyewitness news" reporter trang do now live in blackwood , camden county with more on the severe weather there. good morning, trang.

>> good morning, fortunately, not raining any more, but still seeing some residual effect of the crazy storms overnight, take a look, this is black pike, you can see the onramp to the a.c. expressway, still close to traffic, after a fire here, you can even see the grass still smoking on the side of the road. but here is some video of what the scene was like early this morning, downed power lines over the northbound black horse pike, sparked a very large fire on the highway, right by the route 42 overpass new, crews were able to put the fire out without any injuries. but the onramp again to the a.c. expressway remains block off. now the storms also caused lot of flooding if area, this is a live look, at seconds and mechanic street in camden where the intersection is completely covered. other part of camden also saw some pretty serious flooding overnight as well. now, one point, few thousand pse&g customers here in south jersey were without power. but now that is down to just a couple of hundred, about 700

customers without power this morning, but for now, liver in gloucester county, i'm trang do, cbs-3, "eyewitness news," jim, rahel, back to you. >> all right, trang, thank you >> big mess all over the place , matt. >> you're not kid willing, jim it has been wild morning so far. it started last night, and again, now pushed into our monday morning. now we woke up to flood advisories, pretty much across the entire area. wanted to show you this, because flood advisories for the entire delaware valley have all been canceled. that's good news for us. however, we do still have flashflood warnings that are in effect, our one, casino every southwest new jersey, that's going to expire at 6:15 so really just right around the corner, we will be watching for that one to expire. but our flashflood warning for parts of chester county new york you castle county delaware that goes until 9:00 this morning. so, going to be holding onto some of the high water in northern delaware, for the next couple of hours. storm scan3, for us, heaviest rain moving off to the east. but we will take you up to the lehigh valley still seeing more light to moderate rainfall.

you can see right around the reading area moving toward allentown as well in the next probably 45 minutes to hour or so we'll see that precipitation move in. good news for us here in philly looks like most of the heaviest rain moved out. actually should be dry hopefully for the rest of the day. as we go through the afternoon , again, mostly cloudy skies, not much in the way of precipitation, 6:00, 7:00. we start to watch rounds two of thunderstorms mover on in. and then they'll continue through the nighttime hours tonight, once we get to tuesday, it looks like it will just be mostly cloudy day tuesday, few light spotty showers a possible. not the greatest day for the shore, high of 89 down the beach. little bit on the hot side this afternoon. but again, not really the greatest day with not too much sunshine. eighty-nine agree for the high temperature in fill as well. eighty-three tomorrow, again, few light lingering showers on tuesday, we go mostly cloudy skies on wednesday, high of 82 , that's probably the pick of the week at this point. and then as we get into thursday, friday, the rain showers return, to high heat, starts to move back in, as well. we get to 86 thursday. eighty-seven by the end of the week shall meisha. but our weekend not looking

too bad there saturday and sunday. >> there is silver lining matt right there. we don't like to hear that the rain is many coming back, specially after morning commute like what we are dealing with right now. so let's get right into it. did have accident have an accident, looking at disable vehicle here, schuylkill westbound at montgomery drive. pulled off to the right. also been cleared. you can see the levels building around that area. >> then we've been watching this area for quite some time this morning, involving jackknife tractor-trailer. cannot see the jackknife tractor-trailer, looks it has been moved. ninety-five south at the vine, all lanes are still blocked there. however, you boente won't make it for flooding, up a lane block here because of the flooding, and they've diverting you off of the vine. then speaking of flooding we have 95 north, north and south at broad street. that's now since been cleared. but taking a look into mass transit, new jersey river line is suspended right now, due to some flooding between walter rand transportation center and waterfront entertainment complex, just make sure to check those schedules on line, whenever we have flooding usually it is going to affect

growing up. i have a few now at home myself. and anything i can do, it is to has always been if i can give a dog a home, that's what i want to do. i adopt add dog from the spca when i was in college my sophomore year. you know, my family had a dog, and then i thought okay, i want to have a dog now. and whether i did that is correct i saw one of those commercials, come adopt a dog, immediately i got onto finds the closest animal shelter this coy go and adopt one. now, i'm having an event to help puppies get adopted and find a home. >> how did you get connected with the spca here? >> we have bark in the park every year. they always bring out some dogs, couple every times a year, i believe. when they bring the dogs out, i'm always out on the field with them before the game trying, before i have to get ready to play. i'm trying to play with them, haven't have a good time. this guy, he's not ready to go >> yep. that's something we noticed.

we noticed cameron, you know, so great with the dogs and was down and on the fields with them, and so of course our bells sort of go off, hey i wonder if he wanted to do something with us. we reached out. what do you know, he d so we're so excited. >> so 150th anniversary for the spca. >> yes. >> talk about the importance of events like this, and like bark in the park. >> so important for us. so we were founded in 1867 to protect horses in the city. you know, we just grown so much since then. still doing that with extended of course to dogs, cats, but we just, you know, we always need support of things like this, 100% donor funded. so, no city or government funding so things like there is you know, bring attention to our mission, of course, yes , help get dogs like this tiny adopted who will be at the event. so anybody looking for this guy, he will be there. >> there are people right now definitely falling in love with tiny. give us a little bit -- >> careful, he might come home with me. >> you already said that and someone else said no? >> might approve that adoption

maybe try to clear out some of the drainage areas, that kind of get some of the water to start to recede. now we are still seeing again all that water but starting to recede just little bit. lots of area roadways will be looking like this through the morning, because of all of the heavy rain, that we did have, through last night, and into this morning, check out these rain amounts, across the area, down into northern delaware, over 7 inches of rain, came from last night, into this morning, washington, township, new jersey, over 4 inches every rain, and then back down into ship bottom, as well, up toward the shore points, looking at just shy of four and a half inches of rain there. so again, lot and lots of areas are just inundated when tons of water last night in this morning. even though most of the precipitation has wrapped up still dealing with the lingering effect including flashflood warning for northern delaware and parts of chester county until 9:00 this morning. temperatures for the most part are in the 70s, so it is a warm start to the day. it is a little muggy out there we could hole onto light shower here, until about 9:00

or so this morning, bert chances will be north of the city then meisha we hopefully get a dry kind of afternoon where we get up to 89 degrees, but, we watch for that second round every thunderstorm activity possibly moving on to the roadways later toward the afternoon commute. >> rain, rain, go away. stop already. well good morning, let's get right into it. that rain matt was pointing out will cause some problems for us. what we were looking at jackknife tractor-trailer accident, all lanes blonde for quite some time, but you weren't even getting to up that because just before that 95 south at the vine we were looking at some flooding as you made your way toward that. now you're being diverted off of the vine. you can see, just how busy it is. let's take a look, look at the backups here on 95, past the betsy ross bridge. very, very slow moving, and then, once you travel up, like i said at the vine, diverted offer the vine. so i would say avoid the area if you can. if you cannot, you're probably going to want to factor in more time. give yourself extra 45 minutes

>> reporter: a vigil for the lives lost, and those severely injured in a tractor-trailer over the weekend. people gathered sunday afternoon to mourn the victims people found stuffed in the back of a truck parked in a san antonio wal-mart parking lot. the temperature roast above 100 degrees sunday, and the air-conditioning in the truck wasn't working. >> very hot, kind of like knack oven, if you can imagine , a lot of them have suffered symptoms of heat stroke, and so with heat strokes, a lot of times you have no logical deficits that you're never going to be able to recover from. >> authorities say more than 100 undocumented immigrants may have been in the truck during the course of this journey. >> very sad. i mean, people coming from other countries, trying to make a better living here. >> the truck driver was identified as james bradley, jr. he was arrested and police say he will face state and federal charge. police say this is being treated as a human trafficking crime. >> fighting every day to push back against smugglers, and we will continue to do that. >> texas governor greg and booth called to say heart

parked cars. police are still not sure what led to the shooting, they haven't made any arrests so far. we now know the cause after fire that killed two elderly resident in elkins park montgomery count i am. flips swept through the home early yesterday morning. family members identified the victims as roy and helen fine stone. both were 98 years olan long time resident. neighbors say they're struggling with the loss. >> i have lived here for almost 20 years, you know, and they've lived here forever. so this was a tragedy in our neighborhood. very, very sad. >> and fire investigators have ruled the fire accidental. they believe it was caused by an electrical problem. >> well, parking on the median of broad street is something of a south philly tradition. but, a group is suing to put an ends to that tradition. >> its members say safety is a big concern, but neighbors argue getting rid of median parking was very difficult for them. "eyewitness news" reporter henry rosoff spoke to people on both sides.

rainfall in reading for the time being. we will continue to see the rain north of the city for the next maybe probably hour or so maybe little bit longer than that. while we do remain dry here in philly, for the rest of the morning. and into what should be majority of the afternoon. now, even though we're dry, we do still have the flashflood warning, goes until 9:00 this morning from parts of chester county, new castle count any northern delaware. what we will see though for the next couple every hours, again, not too much happening across philly and then as we go into the later part of the afternoon, some of the early evening, by 6:00 getting some precipitation out here. mount pocono, and then we will stay on the drier side of things, at times through the nighttime tonight. we will see maybe few stray showers for our tuesday afternoon. 89 degrees, today, 83 tomorrow , and then the pick of the week wednesday, high of 82 , meisha, more showers though and thunderstorms toward the end of the week. so the good news for us, starting to wrap things up. load ways i know still bit of a mess but at least a little drier. >> matt, they certainly r yep, that's the good news that's getting a little bit better
