inside frankford. police say it was a neighbor who pulled trigger but no charges have been filed, good evening, i'm jessica dean. i'm natasha brown in for ukee washington today. "eyewitness news" reporter alycia nieves joins us live from outside the philadelphia district attorney's office with this story, alycia. >> reporter: natasha and jessica that petition was dropped off here at district attorney's office just a few hours ago. it not only requested charges be filed begins a next door neighbor but it demands answers. family of august and bobby de paul, family that is struggling tonight to understand why that next door neighbor, is still a freeman. eight days ago 45 year-old bobby depaul and 42 year-old august democracy were shot to death, authorities know who killed the couple, but that person, still faces no charges . >> we're all thinking this man could commit murder and then still be home. >> reporter: upset family and friends hung this banner

outside couple's home in the frankford section of philadelphia, because it was the next door neighbor that admitted to shooting them. he told police that the mother of two, father of four have tried to scale his fence when he shot them in the back of the head. two parties have been arguing earlier that night. >> now he thinks he got away with something so what happens if someone throws the ball up alley and child goes up there and young man, and he shoots them now, i was afraid again. >> reporter: some who live along james street are concerned and confused is too why next door neighbor remains free. in one more frustrated then children the couple left behind. >> it is not self-defense. it is just strictly murder. >> reporter: after a vigil on saturday night august democracy's two sons channeled tonight to a mission. they started a petition demanding answers in this investigation and set out to 4:30 this morning garnering more than 5,000 signatures. with the lawyer, today they delivered the petition, to the district attorney's office. >> i'm completely humled by

of charges including attempted murder. authorities in wildwood, new jersey need public's help locating a missing 13 year-old girl, trinity christensen was last seen early sunday morning , in north wildwood, and she is 5-foot two, was last seen wearing blue jeans, pink sleeveless top and flip-flops. anyone with any information is asked to contact the police. happening right now cherri a more is it a wases sentencing from to do 16. amore befriended a baby's mother and when she became distracted took off with the infant. baby, asir simmons was missing for almost five hours, and we're told amore is still in court at this hour. three people had to be rescued yesterday, when a waterspout came within feet of their canoe in the waters off cumberland county, new jersey. district attorney of philadelphia officially stepped into her new role. she was sworn in today in front of the packed crowd of supporters at city hall, and for kelly hodge, it is more like a home coming back to a office that she once served years ago. >> swearing in. >> with those word kelly hodge becomes new interim philadelphia district attorney >> applause. >> reporter: forty-five year-old former philadelphia assistant district attorney will serve out remaining five and a half months of the term left vacant by former d.a. seth williams resigned last month and awaiting sentencing in the federal corruption case hodge graciously stepped into her new role as cities first african-american female to hold the office. >> it is a profound honor to stand before you as district attorney of philadelphia. >> reporter: hodge served asiana cysttent d.a. in philadelphia from 2004 through 2011. she was most recently with the

we will talk about. that we have to get through these storms. looking at storm scan three we are tracking a line of showers and storms associated with the cold front that will be swinging on through, later on this evening, and tonight, and through the delaware valley, and then it will bring south strong, potentially even an isolated severe thunderstorm, even through center city philadelphia we will track it for you. right new we do have one severe thunderstorm warning in effect for portions of berks, as well as lehigh counties, this is until 6:30 p.m., this evening, and potential for some ping-pong ball sized hail , also windness excess of around 70 miles an hour. a possibly seeing a little bit of hail right here in this pink reflectivity color you see on your screen located just east of lynn and south have the lehigh area and just west of allentown. so, potentially some pink pong ball sized hail will make its way in to ol earn town very soon. we're under the marginal risk for severe weather as we head

through the remainder hours tonight. and that is for strong gusty winds, very heavy downpours, maybe even some hail and we cannot rule out isolated tornado spin up either, that is something i will keep a close eye on for you. these storms tracking through very potentially center city philadelphia between 7:00 and 10:00 p.m. this evening. and then shortly thereafter heading down to the shore and eventually clearing out as we head into the midnight hour maybe as late as 1:00 a.m., and same thing looking generally much quieter into tuesday. we will have a good amount of cloud cover around throughout the day on tuesday, possibly a lingering light shower as well , and generally, much quieter compared to some of the weather that we have seen, over the past, several days, and then looking even better, as we head into your wednesday temperatures right now are check in the 80's. 88 degrees in philadelphia very seasonal day out there 86 in millville. eighty-five in wildwood. seventy-seven in atlantic city 77 degrees in trenton. dew points are still elevated but finally we will get a break from that humidity. a break from that humidity we
