"eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan joins us live with the latest on the dune battle, cleve. >> reporter: things winding down with the margate commissioner's meet ago this has been going on for two hours, people voicing their concerns about the dune project but some at least happy for now but there is a temporary stoppage. day after telling an angry crowd they would fight to halt dune project that created a bacteria infested swamp on their beaches margate

continue. you are doing wrong and continuing to do wrong. we have a week, lets sit at a table and work it out. >> reporter: less than an hour we saw them still pushing sand but pump was shut off. locals remain skeptical the work stoppage will help it long term. >> i hope they have a solution , i'm happy if they come up with a solution. >> reporter: work stoppage on the dune project will be in place until next friday, that is when the next court hearing now meanwhile army core of engineers and their contractor for this project say that it will cost about $100,000, a day for this work stoppage, and there is no word on who will pay that, the city of margate officials say they are not going to. live, i'm cleve bryan, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". well, we will continue our coverage of the disturbing story about a preschool own's accused of alleged sexual assault on two children at a day care center. "eyewitness news" just a short time ago that the department of human services has ordered

hit/run of the pedestrian in brookhaven delaware county. chopper three over 4900 block of jackson drive where authorities say a person was hit by a driver who did not stop. victim was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, so far, there is no description of the vehicle involved. we are learning new information bay deadly crash involving an off-duty montgomery county deputy sheriff. a white sedan, ran a red light around 5:30 this morning and plowed into that deputy sheriff's personal suv. both vehicles came to rest on the lawn of the real estate business at intersection of the maine and hamilton in norristown. eyewitness said she was standing outside when this all happened. >> strictly loud and i was right there, there was debris, i was scared for like an hour or so. i mean i saw everything. >> sources tell thaws five teenagers were in the white car and they were fleeing from an alleged robbery nearby.

a 17 year-old inside was killed, four other teenagers and deputy sheriff were taken to area hospitals for treatment. police in delaware county want to know if you recognize a man in this composite sketch , suspect is wanted for burglary of the home on felt on avenue yesterday, he is also accused of damaging a peco meter outside residents. home owner said he came face-to-face with the man when he went continue on investigate why power went out and that is when the suspect ran away. another day of pop up storms in the area lets get over to meteorologist lauren casey tracking things in the weather certainty. >> radar is far less busy then this time yesterday but we still do have storms on the board and potent won at that. this one in particular has been ongoing for two hours right now. we have a severe thunderstorm in association with this cell and flash flood warning until 9:15. severe thunderstorm warning runs until 6:30 for potential of 60 miles an hour winds and

quarter sized hail. national weather service has extend that had warning off to the west right now but does include portions of bucks, burlington counties. cities including bordentown, florence, mount holly and new hanover, we're seeing torrential rainfall embedded with this cell and continuous lightening as well, flash flood warning until 9:15 for bensalem, bristol, hamilton, trenton, portions of mercer county are also included in this flash flood warning just south of the trenton area heaviest rain stretched out over willingboro, up in to sharps, just south of bordentown and in the chesterfield area also reaching out into bristol and south of levittown within the cell. we could see quarter sized hail, we had report of the penny sized hail and route 130 in the manville area in burlington county is impass able due to flooding because of this cell. it is only moving at 5 miles an hour. some cells in the city popping up moving in delaware and chester counties. we have a flash flood warning for portions of delaware but

heaviest rain has moved out but remains until 8:15. we will talk more about these storms and if we can quiet things down, coming up in just a few, ukee. a group of wilmington fire fighters were in the right place at the right time and able to help rescue a man stuck in the middle of the brandywine river. earlier a platoon of fire fighters were returning from the run along the river when they noticed a man in distress out in the water. they called in a request for water rescue equipment. using ropes, rigging they were able to pull the man to safety these photos showed dramatic rescue, nice job. chopper three over carney 's point salem county where a gray hound bus caught fire. this happened in the northbound lanes office turnpike just north of the delaware memorial bridge. bus was in route of norfolk virginia to new york city. about half of the passengers were pick up by another bus, and other half were still waiting in, one was hurt. more building at former nabisco plant in northeast

philadelphia are coming down. chopper three over the site on roosevelt boulevard, a villanova based developer purchased the property last year. demolition began in june and we are told it should continue for next 20810 weeks. redevelopment plans include a mix of retail and industrial uses. philadelphia mayor jim kenney endorsed democratic candidate larry krasner for district attorney. krasner is a civil rights attorney who defended black lives matter and occupy philadelphia protesters. he won the democratic nomination for ceta begins a crowded field back in may. thinks file footage of him voting in that preliminary race. kenney made the announcement saying he believes krasner will be fair, thoughtful if he wins the job. still to come tonight on "eyewitness news", gift of sight, life changing technology allowing a delaware county man to see for the first time since he was a teenager, his emotional response and generosity that made it all possible. stage is set on the stand

writes toll, burlington, delran, willingboro, just to the north, pemberton, northern edge included in that warning same case for lumberton and chesterfield you're included not that warning. thinks a two hour loop. heavy rain coming down over the same areas, again and again over portions of i-95 and route 130. we have some reports of road close another in writes toll township, in lower bucks county, due to high water, up nearly 2 feet. so be sure never drive-in to a flooded roadway, turn around, don't drawn. heavy rainfall in the burlington area we will see road closures being reported in that area as well. as we head to the south and west we have a couple of cells not causing too much of a problem right now in portions of delaware county and chester county,e marlboro seeing a sell, moving through, concourse, approaching west goshen area. center city fail we have a lit built of the cell that has developed just to the north east, northeast philadelphia saw a thunderstorm moving through earlier in the day causing localized flooding and

this rainfall could be heavier in intensity but storm activity is not as widespread in nature as what we were dealing with 24 hours ago. portions of the delaware seeing another round of rain in dover we have got hit hard yesterday and more rain coming down right now in portions of the berks county seeing a couple of flare-ups with a couple of isolated cells that have popped up on your western and northern edge. as we head in the overnight period still a chance of the hit or miss thunderstorm otherwise partly cloud which a low of 71. for our friday a nice quiet day in store. mostly sunny 89 degrees. we have a chance for isolated thunder shower mainly well west of i-95. future weather showing as you weise head in the next couple of hours that continued chance of a hit or miss shower or thunderstorm, throughout the overnight period mainly dry conditions, and then waking up to nice sunshine, as we look ahead to your friday morning commute, no issues weather-wise, looking good at your shower, few cells popping west of i-95. but otherwise a quiet day, beautiful day down the shore but we will see rain starting to develop as we head late friday night and early

saturday morning with the frontal boundary that will drop n temperatures right now across the area toasty. eighty-five in allentown. eighty-one in philadelphia rain cooled air in dover at 72 . dew points tell us about that stick factor they are up in the upper 60's and lower 70's. so we have that steaminess, that will be the trend again thomas i mentioned but then dropping off behind that frontal boundary that comes in on saturday and feeling pleasant by the end of the day , and then by sunday, just feeling so awesome, certainly by august standard. we have a nice weekend shaping up. nice chance of showers and thunderstorms early in the morning on saturday and then turning mostly sunny, 84 with comfortable humidity. still looking gorgeous on sunday. down short tomorrow not a bad day mostly sunny highs in the upper 70's and lower 80's, water temperature 77 degrees. uv index will be very high as you would expect about that rip current risk will be low, tomorrow, and as we head in the next couple of days, yeah, sunday is the day for your outdoor plans for sure, more storms in the forecast for monday and then drying out on
