your flashflooding concern is primarily confined eastern chester, montgomery, lower bunks counties, point southeast of that, because this is where you've gotten slammed the hardest with recent rainfall. so, this is where the flashflood something most prone. but anyone starting to see a a lisa inch of rain, although the zone where the heaviest rain will fall, we might even have some localized areas where we've got upward of 4 inches out of the sucker. so pretty big deal. pretty soaking rain already moving into parts of lancaster county, chester county getting in on the action now, moving basically right up i95. so making the commute with you meanwhile here is just the general expectation for today, showers already starting to move in, heaviest rain comes this afternoon, with those heaviest amounts, in the southern half of the area, one to two plus inches is easily a possibility here, and we will track this little more specifically in timing later on in the show, meisha. >> all right, katie, thank you so much. even the smallest amount of rain during the morning commute can slow us down, so something to think about this morning. we are looking at 42, 42 free

of the city's most beloved sports figures. >> former phillie great, darren daulton, has lost his battle with brain cancer, our pat gallen had a chance to get to know dutch, and pat, really tough day. >> tough morning, tough news to wake up to, certainly, sad day for so many waking up to the news, but the one and only dutch has passed away. did i get a chance to work with him, had the honor of hosting radio show with dutch, won awesome down to earth guy he was. today we mourn the loss every great player, leader and person, overnight the phillies announced the passing of darren daulton. >> well well hit to deep left center. that ball is way out of here. >> affectionately nicknamed dutch, darren daulton spent 14 seasons in the major leagues spending all but one in a phillies uniform, knocking in over 100 runs in a season twice. grand grand-slam. grand-slam homerun, darren daulton. >> he was best known as the fiery leader of the 1993

phillies squad, a a rag tag group every guys that won the pennant n2010 dutch was immortalized on the phillies wall of fame. in 2013 diagnosed when highly malignant form every brain cancer, after treatment he announce in the 2015 he was cancer free. on sunday night, phillies announce that daulton passed away at age 55. phillies chairman emeritus, bill giles, said in a statement through the phillies , quote, darren was a true leader of men, phillies with not have gone to the 93 world series without his leadership. chairman david montgomery added, quote, all of us at the phillies are sad ends to hear of darren's passing. from the day that we drafted him until today, he constantly earned our respect and admiration as both a player and person. dutch was truely one of a kind and we will dearly miss him. >> phillies first base coach mickey morandini was a second baseman on the 33 national league champs with daulton. he remembers his powerful personality and desire to play

>> he was the ultimate team leader. he is the best clubhouse leader i've ever been involved in, or with, just the way he went about his business, for example, you know, he went through nine knee surgeries, i think it was, and that's hard to deal with as a catcher, and we would have a long game on a saturday night, and play a three hour game, and he would come in the next morning in a afternoon game and be his -- see his name not in the line up and go right into fregossi office and say i'm playing today. get me in that line up. the next thing you know, would come out, make a line-up change. that was just part of his leadership. he led by example. he led by poise. >> we'll hear from phillies spanish broadcaster ricky ricardo coming up at 5:30. he was on the air at sport radio 94wip when the news broke. daulton won world series finally with the marlins in 1997, last night, they tweeted

>> he absolutely did. thanks, pat. >> and we invite to you stay with cbs-3 "eyewitness news," as we continue to look back and remember the life of phillies great darren dutch daulton, our coverage continues on line at cbs philly.com. in other news, new this morning, philadelphia police are investigating after a teenager shot in kensington, officers responded to the home of a 13 year old boy just after 11:30 last night. the victim told police he was walking near the intersection of kensington and ontario, when he heard shot, noticed he had been hit in his right foot but police say nearby surveillance cameras didn't catch any of it. >> police checked private surveillance cameras, in the neighborhood, and those cameras didn't show any type of activity. we're not certain at this time that this 13 year old boy is telling us the truth. >> well, since then, police did actually confirm the boy was shot. it brought him to st. christopher hospital. he will be okay. but investigators right now questioning the boy, and still

is this -- if this were snow we would be piling it up. take a look right now on storm scan3, some rain, soaking heavily, parts of lancaster, now even berks county, getting hit with heavy showers. just the beginning it, looks like there is a back edge to this, right? not so fast. another rounds every rain comes in here, that's when the heavy start starts to get underway. >> 10:00 a.m., the heaviest rain is here, and it will douse us majority of the afternoon, so afternoon driver not looking great here, the rain will begin to wrap up later tonight. this really is essentially all day event. outside the board walk plaza, at the moment, no raindrops on the board, yet, looks little hazy though, since we do have moisture building up in the atmosphere, bottom line here guys, we simply don't need the rain at this point. our temperature today at best, 73 degrees. and by tomorrow, thankfully, out of here, but, you know, may be some flashflooding out of this, flashflood watch takes effect at noontime good portion of the area, at least apply it through thursday,

friday, new rounds of showers is on tap. meisha? >> all right, katie, thank you for that. so, good to know for morning commute. even the smallest amount of rain can really slow us down right now. what we're primarily seeing is dry roadways. so this is a first look at the blue route near mid-county. see what you are working with there, northbound, southbound direction, starting to builds levels maybe little bit. overall blue route, anywhere we look, starting to look okay , just maybe getting a little bit more movement than what we saw a half hour ago. same story here, 422, route 29 , headlights moving in the eastbound direction, little hard to see here, but you can see how many vehicles are already out there. and also, the boulevard, at wissahickon avenue. taillights moving in the southbound direction, headlights then moving in the northbound direction, and, that you are still traveling at posted speeds, but, in certain areas, you might start to slow down. this is one of them in swenksville. heads up. first action of the morning, park avenue right now, it is closed, so, closed pennypacker road. you will have to use an alternate. alternate spring mount road, around there, when we look behind this, still seeing
