tracking things in the cb. weather center. lauren, that rains appears to be moving out. >> things will improve. what you see there in the video live from the mobile weather watcher, just water sitting on the roadway it is hard to tell how deep that is water. you cannot tell by looking at it and it only takes 6 inches, 6 inches of water on the ground to potentially stall out your vehicle and make you lose control. you never want to drive-in to those flooded waterways. we have seen reports of flooding, cape may county, atlantic county and cumberland county. millville picking up three and a half inches of rainfall just today. dover picking up close to three and a half inches of rainfall. so far in the last seven days, over 6 inches of rainfall in the dover area. cape may picking up over 2 inches of rainfall. doyletown a inch and a half and philadelphia picking up .4 of an inch of rainfall but rain is starting to wrap up. that is good news. we have had that flash flood watch in effect for the area until midnight. national weather service cancelled that early, good

news there heaviest rain has moved off shore but we are still dealing with pockets of the lingering kind of light to moderate rainfall and heavier in some areas in center city philadelphia, i-95 corridor chester and wilmington still seeing maryland rate rainfall falling and that will impact our commute. what to expect? scattered showers lingering, some could be heavily locally south of the city where we will see most concentrated and watch out for, ponding on the road raise and flooded roadways, especially down the shore and parts of the delaware but we will continue to improve things as we head throughout overnight tomorrow, and, nice, sunny, dry, stretch in store, when that kicks in and how long it will last coming up in the full forecast , in just a few, ukee. >> lauren, thank you. tonight remembering darren daulton. the fan favorite affectionate ly known as dutch passed away after losing his battle with brain cancer. dutch was leader on the popular 193 phillies team that made an improbable run to the world series. tonight, former philly fans

alike are mourning the loss of a philadelphia legend. >> sports director don bell joins us now with more on the life and career of dutch daulton. don. >> philadelphia legend, absolutely, darren daulton died after four year battle with brain cancer. it impacts cannot be measure. >> darren daulton was a philly favorite, greeting on the field and vocal in the clubhouse and apple of every fan's eye. >> one of my favorite phillies from the 93 team. he was my favorite philly, other than, lenny dykstra. >> he was like the catalyst for the team. we fell a little bit short but he was, always beloved by philadelphians. it is what we missed. >> reporter: in 1992 the man we called dutch, led the national league in rbi's winning the silver slug's ward n93 he was at it again, he became one of the only nine

catchers in baseball history with back to back, 100 rbi seasons. dutch led phillies to the national league pennant in that same campaign. >> he was the glue that kept a bunch of misfits together in 93, and we had a special year. >> reporter: three time all-star wasn't just known for hits, he was men as leader of men on and off the field. he used his darren daulton foundation to help those who suffered from the same disease that took his life. >> darren's goal has always been to help sub diesed in some cost these families that are suffering, similar to what he was, you know, fighting, and suffering through this horrible disease. >> reporter: news of the passing has hit the philadelphia community hardest specially those who knew him best like former teammate lenny dykstra. >> i will miss you, dutch, i will miss you, man. i will miss you. i know millions of more people feel the same way.

gun. at least one responding officer discharged striking the suspect, in word on his condition. take a look at the suv on your screen there philadelphia police say this is vehicle wanted in connection with a deadly hit and run. it is a white jeep model rubic on with front end damage. it hit five three-year old ann broadrick near 13th and race in center city sunday morning. she was pronounced dead at the hospital. camden county police are asking for public's help identify a suspect injuring of to officers on saturday night. authorities say that the officers, saw a man, on a atv tampering with equipment at a gas station. when they ordered him to stop police say suspect pulled off hitting one officer in the face with the door of a patrol car and knocking a detective down on the street. both officers were treated at cooper hospital and released. >> it was an attempted murder of an overs, there is no doubt in my mind. at this point, our concern, if

he will do this to an officer, what can he do to the public. >> police also want to talk to two persons of interests a man and woman on another atv are eyewitnesses to the incident. there are new developments tonight surrounding a series of arsons at a center city philadelphia apartment building. management at the sterling has hired contractors to install cameras on every stope to supplement cameras they have in place. they will also be installing a system to limit elevator access. there have been seven arsons in that building in the last month. damage has been minor, no one has been injured. residents in one south philadelphia neighborhood are disturbed and concerned after a finding pigeons shot with blow darts. "eyewitness news" reporter greg argos explains why conditions are right for a certain warm weather pet to flourish. >> reporter: first, you hear the buzz. then the smack. >> they like it most. >> reporter: mosquitoes aren't just annoying. >> for first time in a long time i was kept awake by mosquito in the room. >> they can carry nasty viruses. >> we're interested in understanding how this virus infects the mosquito and how when it transmits to humans. >> reporter: sarah is a professor of micro biology in penn and they are studying ways of limiting transmission to west nile virus to humans. >> if you can block the ability of the mosquito to

localized flooding and flash flooding. storm scan three showing heaviest, steady rain has moved off shore but we are still dealing with lingering scattered showers moving quickly but still putting down light, moderate patches of heavier rainfall from wilmington, chester, philadelphia, salem county, new jersey, encompassed with rainfall coming down. down the shore patchy showers continue to cruz on through but we have a flood warning that remainness effect for our shore points. atlantic, cape may, cumberland county, gloucester county heading in to 8:15 this evening. watch out for potential of flooding and flooded roadways. we have flood warnings for portions of delaware, central delaware, dover included in that and extreme southeastern suspects section county in the eastern area we will wrap things up in the next couple hours. few lingering showers before midnight. maybe rumble of thunder. otherwise cloudy conditions dropping back down to 66 degrees. for our day tomorrow much better, conditions. leave the umbrella at home.

throw it in the trash. at lee for a couple days. maybe don't throw it in the trash. we will have cloudy in the morning. mostly sunny, comfortable, 82 degrees. future weather showing us lingering showers in the second half of the evening. then quieting down overnight tonight. we could see a shower in the delaware beaches, southern shore points early tomorrow morning and then that quickly clearing on out by midday looking great on your lunch hour decreasing cloud increasing sunshine and a beautiful afternoon and evening, in store. for our tuesday with sunshine breaking out all across the area we are in august right now but that cloud deck low level cloud deck lingering throughout date and rain continuing to fall, held our high temperatures, in the 60's in philadelphia and trenton, and allentown, 60 degrees in mount pocono, through cool temperatures but dew points in the 60's and 70's, so cool, but very damp and moist but we will get a break, from that humidity as we head in the next couple days. dew points dropping off throughout the day as that sunshine increases tomorrow feeling comfortable and almost

fall like as we head into wednesday and thursday, we have dew points dropping off in the lower 50's. checking out tropics we have a new tropical storm franklin right nowe of the yucatan peninsula moving westbound and potentially strengthen to a category one hurricane before making land fall, on coastal mexico as we head in the upcoming week. this will not pose a threat to the united states coastline. rain will pose a threat to us as we head in the next couple days. look at that, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, three whole days without rain, coming down, feeling awesome on wednesday, and still very pleasant and dry as we head into thursday. few spotty showers as we look toward friday and saturday and chances for upcoming weekend but next couple days open up windows, we will dry things out, it will be very nice. >> all right, very nice. thanks, lauren. >> don back with more sports. >> we will continue to celebrate life of the darren daulton up next two word that curt schilling used to describe dutch, that and more when we come

a fan favorite long after his playing day, here in philadelphia ended, we continue to remember darren daulton tonight, in 2012 dutch and fellow 1993 alumni mitch williams were in the stand at citizens bank park to sing happy birthday to a lucky fan. just one of the many times daulton, turned to the life of phillies nation. >> don bell with more with how dutch is being remembered today. >> exactly. carli lloyd wears number 10, why? because that is the number of her all time favorite player, darren daulton. like the phillies and fans all over the delaware valley, lloyd was inspired by dutch. today we mourn loss of a philadelphia icon, daulton died last night after a four year battle with brain cancer.

he spent 14 seasons with the phillies. during his career he had nine surgeries on various injuries. ultimately though he led the phillies to a national league pennant in 1993. >> curt schilling had this to say about his former teammate, heart and soul, those are two word that define darren daulton as a human being and member of the phillies 1993 team n my 22 years of baseball i have never been privileged enough to be around a man who led anywhere near as well as dutch did, god blessed me enough to allow me to be around men who change my life, and i'll be forever thankful dutch was one of those men. 1993 short stop kevin stocker, says, i always respected darren for the fact that he never treated me like the rookie that i was in 93 but rather like every other teammates on that championship team. darren was never loud, never scream but when he did have something to say everyone listened. i know i did and because of that, i will be forever

grateful for him for lessens that he taught me. phillies third base coach juan samuel said darren and i started in the minors together we worked our way up together to the big league so he was like a brother to me. he was the best teammate i have ever had. five five-year old. we will have more on darren at 11:00. eagles practiced today and they had to do it indoors, because of the rain. now, during training camp, you have about 90 players, and includes dozens of coaches, support staff and media members. all of those people on one small, synthetic field. >> i hate practicing inside, i just hate it. but, it was important, it was sloppy today, but i hate being inside. >> any difference. >> just that the inside, on the turf, you know, negative part it is harder so you are a little bit sore the next day. the benefit is there is not
