he fridays millville and new jersey reporter cleve bryan is there with more, on this, and cleve. >> reporter: ukee, deborah wis ler is home away from custody this afternoon. we tried to talk about her son not a topic that she wanted to discuss. can we talk to you about these charge difficulties leave your son in the wood no. >> reporter: thirty-nine year-old deborah wisler showed no interest in explaining herself tuesday afternoon. police say five days ago she abandoned her 10 year-old son with special need leaving him in the wood by joint base maguire dixon lakehurst burling ton county. can you talk with what happened. >> no, bye, bye, bye. >> reporter: will you talk about what happened with your son. >> no. >> reporter: is he with you now. >> no, please leave premises. >> reporter: state police say thursday august 3rd a passing driver spotted her son in the wood near visitors center at the base. military personnel check him over and found minor injuries. he told police his mom walk him in the wood with luggage and then left. he fell asleep and woke up hungry. he provided his mother's name, phone number and placed in

protective custody. police arrested her next day they believe she was trying to take her son to the child program at the base and when she found out he was not eligible she abandoned him. >> it is sick, really. >> is there so much in the community that can be offered to you, i just can't believe it. i can't believe she would do that. >> reporter: barbara todd was boy's teacher aid in kindergarten and first grade and she gave us insight in her and her son's relationship. >> adores him. he was her life. i just, i just can't believe it. >> she got him involved in anything that she could, and also, all services are available to him, and her. >> reporter: does it feel like they were taking advantage of the services. >> yes, and i cannot even talk i'm still so shocked. >> reporter: state police say boy is still in a temporary home. now wisler is charged with child endangerment and has to peer in burlington county court there noise date for that hearing. live from millville, cleve bryan, cbs-3 "eyewitness news"

all of a sudden, i saw this black truck coming up. >> reporter: carroll birdman watched these four men get out of the truck, knock on her neighbor's door appearing to check if he was home. when he didn't answer they climbed in his front window. >> very scary because, you know, we have lived here for 50 years, never, ever had a problem. never. >> reporter: at alleged, bold broad daylight burglars didn't planned for her to notice them and didn't expect police to arrive on the scene within three minutes. as first set arrived two of the men ran from the home before quickly apprehending, the other two barricaded inside, but by noon time they have surrendered. ending this barricade situation, and the ordeal for the home owner who was inside. >> the victim stated that the actors couldn't fronted him in the front home of the house, hit him in the head and stuck a gun in his mouth and threatened to kill him. people are being knowy, at this time, this gentlemen can thank his neighbor for calling the police. >> reporter: all four men are being charged with home

invasion, burglary and other weapons charges. authorities actually believe they may be responsible for other burglaries in the area over the pennsylvania couple weeks. reporting live from plymouth township alycia nieves for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". federal officials and philadelphia authorities are investigating an arson fire in kensington. it happened just before 11:00 in the building on the 1800 block of ease clementine street. authorities say that one fire fighter put the flames out they discovered the body of the 28 year-old man on the second floor. his identity has yet to be released. second person to escape the flames went to the area hospital for minor injuries. meanwhile a philadelphia man accused of killing his innocent son was in court today. thirty-one year-old omar cooper had a preliminary hearing more than two months after six week old boy was found unresponsive a the a home on willows avenue in southwest philadelphia investigators say birth had multiple traumatic injuries, and cooper has been charged with murder. his arraignment is scheduled for august 29th.

haddon township police are searching for a man who reportedly tried to lure a young girl into his car. investigators released this sketch of the suspect. victim told officers she was riding her bike on sunday on the 200 block of addison avenue, she says that is when the man pulled up saying her parents asked him to pick her up and take him home. girl rode away. based on surveillance video police think suspect was driving a 2003, four die un day's land that gls gold or tan in color. car stolen from a airport, car rental company last week has been recover. police confirmed that the four cars that were taken from avis early friday morning were found late their day, however, no one in custody. during robbery police say that the guard at the front gate was punched in the face by one of four male suspects. they said that the suspect displayed a handgun and also took the guard's cell phone. police in south philadelphia need public's help tracking down a pair of vandals. this surveillance comes from

we have some sad news just in the news room. >> singer glenn campbell has passed away, according to his publicist campbell died earlier today after a long, courageous battle with alzheimer's disease. campbell was known as the rine stone cowboy, a singer from arkansas. his smooth vocals and down home manner made him a main stay in music and television for decade, glenn campbell was 81 years old, he is survived by his wife, kim and eight children. >> so many of our sound tracks , no doubt bit. local wendy's charged extra for soda today apparently because of the new philadelphia beverage tax. >> fast food restaurant in question is in delaware county , not the city. cbs-3's, henry rossoff is live at wendy he is in a ridley park. henry, what have you found out >> reporter: if you walked in the wendy's behind me yesterday, and bought a big soda there was an extra line

rossoff for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". a home near a massive sing home in land lakes florida has been condemned. >> officials say it could take months to make area around sinkhole safe, they say at its widest the sinkhole measures 260 feet, larger than wing span of the boeing 747. it swallowed two homes in the tampa suburbs. it appeared suddenly july 14th , and then after it widened again over the weekend more houses were condemned and even more families were displaced. >> we built this house, 40 years ago and now we don't have anything. >> it is sad, but it offers closure, not safe to live in. >> crews have filled the sinkhole with limestone and dirt over pennsylvania few weeks at a cost of about a million-dollar. officials may eventually decide it is best not to fill it anymore and just leave it, as is. heavy rain today brought widespread flood to go parts of the houston, texas.

not only are colon rectal cancer rates going up, this study shows in spite of the advances, deaths among people under the age of 55 are also, increasing. colonoscopies that find pre cancerous lesions save lives but new research for american cancer society say colon rectal cases and deaths are up among younger people and it is not because of increased screenings. reason for rise in both incidents and death rates remains unclear. >> these are findings. >> reporter: doctor john marks chief of colon rectal surgery at main health say there are important advances in screenings, treatments and prevention is all about early detection. >> i think that with better attention to sensitive screening at ages younger then 50 we are catching things earlier and seeing them in different age demographic. >> reporter: new research say increase in death rates from colon cancer among younger people applied to just white patients, blacks and other races did not see the up tic.
