here in center county courthouse. you can see key players expect to leave here any minute, like you mentioned this afternoon and this morning we saw new video, 19 year-old tim piazza stumbling through that frat house just hours before his death. thursday additional video recorded inside penn state fraternity house and played in court appears to show condition of the tim piazza after a night of drinking. video shows the 19 year-old fraternity pledge, stumbling through a, great room of the beta theta pi frat house on february 4th. hours later he was dead. >> the family left when the surveillance video was shown. there are certain things they cannot subject themselves too. >> reporter: attorney tom kline is representing jim and evelyn piazza, parents who prosecutors say died after a night of heavy drinking inside that house. part of the alcohol filled fraternity hazing event organized by 16 defendants. throughout this pretrial hearing which began in june and expected to last at least one more day, attorneys for those men claimed their clients did not force piazza

to consume alcohol and therefore, should not be charged with his death. >> the evidence has been overwhelming that collectively , had we seen the individual component parts come together, there is sufficient evidence to hold them over for trial on most if not all of these charges. >> reporter: thursday's newly released video shows unsteady piazza walking shirtless through the home, three hours later according to prosecutors fraternity members found him unconscious, at the bottom of the basement stairs. >> he was still salvageable at that point in time, if there were another critical point in time, where intervention would have saved his life, we saw it today in this court room. >> reporter: another bomb shell this afternoon, lead detective in this case saying that there appears to have been surveillance video from that basement where victim was found but that surveillance video may have been deleted by some of the defendants, new charges could be filed against those defendants, we will have much more about this bomb

shell development, coming up tonight at 6:00. we're live from center county i'm greg argos for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> greg, thanks. in a packed colorado courtroom pop singer taylor swift testified about her alleged sexual assault. coming up hear how grammy winner claimed to set record straight on what she called, a definite grab underneath her skirt back in 2013. police are asking for the public's help finding two suspects wanted in connection with a pepper spray attack in south philadelphia. now this happened last month near the 1300 block of east passyunk avenue. police say suspect man and woman first argued with the victim before the female suspect sprayed that victim in the face with pepper spray. coming up on "eyewitness news" at 6:00 we will explain what police say sparked that argument. strong odor of natural gas briefly prompted the partial evacuation of the delaware county hospital this morning. chopper three over riddle memorial in middletown township. officials say odor was only

present in a portion of the hospital. patients and staff, from that area were evacuated while peco and fire department investigated. hospital says everyone was allowed back inside once authorities determined that there was no gas leak. where the smell came from is still a mystery no injuries were reported. west chester assistant fire chief is recovering one day after being sickened by possible carbon monoxide fumes he fell ill while responding to a report of an underground fire on west gay street. four other fire fighters were also treated for possible co exposure. the fire reportedly started with a malfunction in an underground electrical wire. the suspect accused of injuring a delaware county sheriff's sergeant in collindale appeared for an arraignment this morning. authorities say jeremy jones threw a molotov cocktail at sergeant milk margarine, he suffered burns to his legs as he tried to survey search warrant at a home on macdade boulevard. authorities say generals then

barricaded himself inside the home before he finally surrendered. the sergeant was released from the hospital today and is expect to make a full recovery well, search is over foreman who broke into an overbrook home, and stole a car, home invasion happened around 9:30 last night on the 200 block of west mt. airy avenue. police say that the suspect claimed he had a gun, then drove the home owner's suv to a bank on city avenue and tried to use her atm card. officers spotted the suspect near st. joes university where he left the car and threw his pants and shoes in a nearby yard. >> my biggest concern is safety, you know, it was late night, i after a son he plays outside, you never know what can happen. generally good neighborhood but every once in a while something crazy happens and it comes to us. >> reporter: police have not released where they caught up with the suspect. he is in cuss toyed and charges are pending. as tensions intensify between u.s. and north korea so do threats from both side.

president trump is warning communist nation of trouble, if it thinks about attacking the u.s. or american interests north korea has released detail plan about how it may strike guam, within days. president trump says that he need to get tougher with north korea. >> north korea better get their act together or they will be in trouble, like few nations ever have been in trouble in this world. >> reporter: wednesday, the president promised to bring fire and fury on north korea if it makes anymore threats to the united states. >> the people that were questioning that statement wasn't too tough, maybe it wasn't tough enough. >> reporter: general in charge of the north korea's missle force say sound dialogue is not possible with president trump and that only absolute force can work on him. north korea's military says plan is in response to president trump who promised fire and fury for the communist nation if it continues to threaten america. >> if north korea does anything in terms oven thinking about attack, things will happen to them, like they

drone to crash the plane. he is also accused of planning to carry out an attack on minority islamic community in turkey. he is behind bars pending trial. president trump's twitter tirade against senate majority leader mitch mcconnell continued today. president tweeted mitch get back to work and put repeal and replace, tax reform and cuts and a great frame structure bill on my desk for signing. you can do it. yesterday, the president lashed out at mcconnell on twitter over the health care failure, and these comments that the majority leader made in his home state of kentucky. >> our new president, of course, has not been in this line of work before, and i think had excessive expectation about how quickly things happen. >> sources say president and senate majority leader had a phone call before this all erupted on twitter and it was described as tense. turning now to the forecast, and the sun starts to set on another beautiful

day, we're in for a mild night but tomorrow, it is when humidity begins to climb. meteorologist lauren casey's live on the sky deck with a look at rain chances as well, lauren. >> beautiful conditions right now though have a few passing cloud in the sky but dry conditions, comfortable humidity levels, another great summer day cross the delaware valley. we will check on our current conditions right now, temperatures feeling great in philadelphia, 83 degrees but feeling like 82, cooler then our air temperature because of the lower humidity values. seventy-nine down the shore and 74 degrees currently in the poconos with those dew points down in the 50's. storm scan three showing us quiet conditions, patchy cloud working on through, pin head sprinkle popped up over portion of the gloucester county but we will stay mainly dry. as we head in the evening hours partly cloudy, comfortable, temperatures falling back in the upper 70's but yeah, we have rain chances for upcoming weekend with an area of low pressure that will make an approach and could make for a stormy start to the

the state department has confirmed that several u.s. diplomates, stationed in cuba had to return home due to a string of bizarre illnesses. the mysterious ailments are shaking up diplomatic relations between the two countries. cbs news correspondent weijia jiang has the still story. >> state department employees in havana began complaining of hearing loss, constant painful headaches and other issues, late last year. a source familiar with the

matter tells cbs news that u.s. officials are now looking into whether the incident where is caused by a possible type of accoustics device that was in or outside homes where embassy workers provided by cuban government. >> initially when it started reporting what i will just call symptoms it took time to figure out what it was. this is still ongoing. >> reporter: cbs news has learned eight or nine u.s. diplomates had their assignments cut short because of their ailments but some affect employees still remain on the island. >> we had to bring some americans home or some chose to come home, as a result of that, and as a result of that, we have asked two cubans to leave the united states and they have. >> reporter: development comes just two months after president trump tightened travel and trade restriction that is were loosened after former president obama. >> i am canceling the last administration's completely one sided deal with cuba. >> reporter: cuba's foreign

shining through, 83 degrees is our current temperature so not too hot or steamy because feels like temperature is actually cooler then our air temperature because of that low humidity feeling like 82 degrees, gorgeous conditions right now at the beach, yes, look at these people enjoying a beautiful thursday evening, rehoboth beach, not a cloud in the sky, except that sea gull passing through people outside enjoying conditions sunshine at our shore points right now and temperatures feeling good. 78 degrees in wildwood. seventy-nine in d.c. eighty-three warmer in in allentown. seventy-three in mount pocono. we have a sea breezing. feeling good. 76 degrees in ocean city. we are up at 81 degrees in cape may. dew points they are also feeling good because they tell us about that sticky factor and when they are in the 50's, in august, it feels nice, and comfortable. as we have had yesterday, but as we head in the day tomorrow , we will push those dew points up in the middle 60

's and then 70 degrees. storm scan three showing us a few passing cloud, otherwise dry conditions across the delaware valley. we are talking about the bird. yeah, look at this green bay we have strong storms rolling on through with an area of low pressure off to the north. severe thunderstorm watch for portions of wisconsin just south of green bay until 9:00 o'clock central time. might be a rocky start to the game. we should see improving conditions in the green bay area heading in the second half of the evening. for us closer to home no problems, partly to mostly cloudy, mild falling back to 68 with light win and for our friday we will have more cloud , coming up mostly cloud which sunshine chance of isolated shower as we head in the afternoon with a high of 83. feeling more humid. what to expect for this weekend. we have been talking about a little bit of model disagreement coming into more agreement and looking better for sunday. it looks like mostly scattered storms developing after midnight tomorrow night, scattered rain, thunderstorms in the morning and in the

afternoon, saturday but not steady. as we head into sunday we could see clearing skies, steamy on saturday and potentially lower humidity as we head into sunday. future weather painting picture for our friday cloud around but looking dry on your lunch hour. looking out for your friday evening commute weather-wise and as we head in the overnight period, scattered showers and thunderstorms developing as we head into friday night, saturday morning , saturday afternoon as well in case your land fall amounts taking us through late day saturday we could pick up healthy amounts throughout the day. down the shore tom watching out for a shower in the afternoon and thunderstorm chance arrive as we head overnight and that will continue into our saturday as well. but sunday looking better, i took out the rain chance, on sunday, we will call it mainly dry at this point. i'm not super confident but i'm getting more and more confident. >> you have power you just take it right on you. >> take it out. >> i have the power and rede it out. >> by the way tomorrow is

south carolina official are urging residents and visitors to to get their plan in place for viewing the total solar eclipse august 21st. >> overriding safety, bring hydration, medications, to make sure you have eye wear when looking at the sun. >> reporter: south caroline ace on the coast to coast swamp where people will be able to watch as the moon completely blocks the sun. authorities are expecting thousands to flood to parks, other open space toss get a glimpse of the spectacle using protective eye wear. traffic will be heavy, cell phone service will be stretched to its limit. >> this is the first total solar eclipse throughout the u.s.a. in the cell another a some impacts may not be known ahead of time. >> reporter: people don't to have live near the line of totality to witness this astronomical wonder, americans who live outside path of complete darkness will still be able to experience quite a phenomenon. >> you should definitely watch it just because you are not in the path of totality doesn't
