eyewitness news reporter alexandria hof is live outside the special victim's unit with more on this alex. >> ukee, nicole, the sequence of events seem rare a child was running with a child lefted in and the car was stolen. they deal with that scenario twice a year. luckily here this was resolved in less than three hours. around 4:30 p.m., police say a father leaves 3-year-old son strapped into car seat inside a still running vehicle at the roosevelt mall. through the window at the kicks usa store the father seize a man pull away with his car and son. >> he dropped a box he bought for his baby and ran out of the store into the parking lo lot. >> yelling at the thief saying his 3-year-old son was in the backseat sfwlt suspect ignored the father's pleas and fled with the stolen vehicle for about a mile.

before stopping and placing the child still in the car seat on the sidewalk. >> right on the sidewalk between the fire station and nazareth hospital. and the child was uninjured. >> not only were the father and son reunited but soon there after that father and suspect were reunited as well. this father is going to remember that face for all time. and that's what happened. >> shortly after 7:00 police located the stolen vehicle and suspect in the 6800 block of torresdale avenue. that father was called to the scene. >> he made a quicky motional and instantaneous identification of this male. >> glen is a friend of the father. he arrived on scene as well as the suspect was being apprehended. >> he was kicking the window, door, calling me you know rac racist names and all that. but i'm not the wrong one in the situation. you stole the car. >> of course, it's illegal to have a parked car running and no word if that father will

face any charges but since there was a child in the backseat, we're told that the suspect will be facing kidnapping charges as well. reporting live tonight from special victims unit, alexandria hof, cbs3. eyewitness news. >> alex, thank you. authorities tonight are on the scene of a crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian in cherry hill. this is a live picture from 38 eastbound near long wood avenue and the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. it's unclear if the striking vehicle remained at the scene. eastbound 38 closed cuspboard boulevard while the investigation continues. a former executive at west chester based qvc is facing james time for fraud accused of scamming the met work out of more than a million tlarz. outside of the federal building in center city with more on the alleged wrong doing. david. hi, ukee. a million dollars at least, that's what authorities say

qvc is a human company with a major footprint in the home shopping world. many wonder how that could happen. federal authorities say they have the answers in the 35 page indictment. >> qvc a shopping channel with roots that span more than 0 years is the victim of a scandal allegedly involving a former executive named james jamie thugcowski director involved in promoting the brand in entertainment and fashion industries. in this 35 page federal indictmentment unsealed thursday he stole more than $1 million goods and money without qvc knowing about it. according to indictment he used qvc to pay for hundreds of thousands in resorts and spa treatment and first class travel and botox treatment according to the indictment. authorities say 200,000 wept to luxury chauffeur services

and approximately 59,000 wept to pro paid gift cards. authorities say falkowski said he convinced them to use a pr firm and he lawpderred hundreds of thousands of dollars over qvc nose. speaking of the company eyewitness news received this statement. at qvc we take allegations of unethical or unlawful business conduct on part of employees and business partners very seriously. in addition to conducting a thorough investigation into this matter, we he have been cooperating fully with authorities. >> qvc fired him in december of 2013 and may have to pay restitution to the popular company and could face up to 11 years in federal prison if he's convicted. reporting live at the federal courthouse, david spunt, cbs3, eyewitness news. >> david, thank you. president trump war of

the back there. cracker jack. >> thanks, pauly, thanks. >> no more prizes anymore. >> august mother nature has been giving us weather prize. >> we had a rainy first week and temperatures in check. and dealing with tops of heat and if you can remember that today high temperatures hitting 86. average right on the head. but it didn't feel warm because we had nice comfortable humidity values and we started in 60s this morning which for august day certainly feels nice. we started at 67 n in philadelphia and getting live look in center city philadelphia all is quiet. temperatures g 73. south wrlly winds calm now and temperatures good ais cot region. we're 75 allentown and warm spot down 60s in the poconos and follow back to the 60s down the shore. 67 in atlantic city. well, dew points kind us to over the last several days.

comfortable humidity levels. dew points creep up breaking that 60 degree threshold and they'll continue to climb as we head into the day tomorrow. you will start to feel that steam factor especially by late day tomorrow. but overnight tonight still nice. partly to mostly mild and temperatures down to 68 and for friday still another quiet day all it be more humid. more clouds during the afternoon and high temperature 8. below average. with a chance of isolated shower in the afternoon. but our better rain chances will arrive overnight on friday. storm scan showing us quiet conditions and we like to see that after a very soggy july and wet start to august. no rain coming down just a few passing clouds and mother nature was kind mouse green bay because we had strong and severe storms early in the evening and rain cleared out in time for eagles' game. mother nature is a birds fan. the same storm system that brought storms earlier in the

evening will barrel in as we head to upcoming weekend this cold front will traverse the area as we head to day. we'll see thunderstorms developing scat nerd nature as we head to tomorrow night. mainly after midnight. rounds of storms as we head into day. not pouring all throughout the day but we'll really have to keep a close eye ot sky for scattered storms. even during the morning showers and especially during the afternoon and evening. at this point the model is finally getting into agreement we'll have sunshine and low humidity on sunday. future weather showing us as we wake up tomorrow morning not many problems. clouds around. looking good on lunch hour despite clouds and starting to see isolated cells for late day and more activity overnight period. this is midnight. this is 3 a.m. as we head to early saturday morning. maybe rumbles of thunder waking you up as we head to first half of day day. that is more quiet portion. still could see a few spotty showers and thunderstorms before things get more active as we head into afternoon and
