, another one, construction. >> all looking pretty good over here. we do have pretty sunrise currently getting underway, we start things off with quick peak of storm scan3, not too much to spot here folks other than some clouds beginning to build in. but i do have, talk about money shot, beautiful view for you. this remind me of like fog rolling in over the country side, so pretty. now that the sun is officially rising in the next couple every minute it, will help with the cloud cover. specially into the fall, start off with low-lying cloud cover it, all justin out, as the sun comes up really helps you again scour it away. current temperature here, 58. it is a heck of a lot milder elsewhere though. all the way up to 68 at the airport. sixty-three atlantic city, notice the calm wind, allowing that vale of fog to even form at all. we do have hint of moisture out there to help it along, as well. now, as the day goes on, yes, starting off with more sun than anything, with time those clouds will rebuild, not

necessarily sign of anything later on to come tonight. there may be a shower that pops up, for the most part just a day that gets a little bit more skewed each and every passing hour, by additional cloud cover. so looks good. 84 degrees the expected hi, pretty nice day, 80 degrees at the shore, nice beach day for you there too, mountains hit the upper 70s once more with sun building in. >> like you said, just looks like nice day, nice perfect for a monday. thank you so much, katie. good morning to all of you. so kicking offer brand new work week together. looking good jump on the roadways this morning, had couple of problem spot, most moving out of the way fairly quickly, so look, we were looking at disable look at the platt bridge, eastbound, all lanes temporarily blocked. that has now all since been cleared. so looking at flat bridge, big thumbs-up, looking great. not closed overnight for the construction on the vine. so moving in the westbound direction, starting to heat up levels little bit. take a look at the eastbound side, eastbound side on the vine looking actually pretty quiet. crack in the 6:00 hour now. where we typically start to see it start to heat up little

bit. overall vine, still looking good. i can't say the same story here for 95 south at girard. headlights moving in the southbound direction, this is where it is really starting to get busy. than is exactly what we can expect on a monday specially cracking into the 6:00. so head the out there on 95 south, headed toward center city. that's where you are starting to slow down, and i would say same story here, 42 freeway northbound at creek road. take that 295, starting to get little bit slow there as well. jim, rahel, back over to you. >> thank you shall meisha. neighbors in one south philadelphia neighborhood are waking up to some shocking news, the suspected murders after woman and her boyfriend. >> "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh, live at the scene to tell us more now about what police found inside that couple's amount. anita, good morning. >> good morning, jim and rahel well, they found a murder mystery. and they actually just opened up the roadway here on the 1300 block of federal street after spending several hours investigating the suspicious deaths of a couple found on the first floor of their

apartment. now, third district police responded here around 1145 last night. that's when they say they found a 50 year old man unresponsive, on the bathroom floor, they also found his 23 year old girlfriend, unresponsive on the living room floor. they were both pronounced dead minute later. investigators say the two had bruises to their faces, and were lying in pools of blood. and it appears that they were assaulted. chief inspector scott small says detectives did not find any narcotics in plane view and that what unfolded inside remains a mystery. >> the house appears to have been ransacked. however no sign of forced entry in the front door or the rear door. so we're not certain exactly what happened. >> so, a lot of questions still remain here this morning investigators say, that a family member who lives on the second floor of the department went to go check on that couple. that's when that person

noticed that both of them were unresponsive, and called authority. that person along with another witness were being interviewed by homicide detectives, but at this time, there is no word on suspect or any kind of motive. we'll of course keep you updated on the latest development just as soon as we have them. for now live in south philadelphia, anita oh, cbs-3 "eyewitness news." >> okay, anita, thank you. >> also new this morning, police trying to figure out what led someone to fire 31 shots wounding five men in philadelphia's mantua section. this happened around 1:00 last night, along 39th and melon street. police found three men at the scene. short time later, two other victims showed up at nearby hospital. police tell "eyewitness news" they're questioning people who are seen driving away from that area. man charged with mowing down counter err protesters in charlottesville virginia kill one every them will be in court this morning. >> the incident at rally of white nationalists has led to widespread march he is for peace intolerance, live in new york to bring us to up date. good morning, hena.

>> good morning, guys, 20 year old james alex fields, jr. charged with second degree murder, and could also face federal charges, depending on the outcome of an fbi investigation. witnesses say, on saturday, the driver accelerated before plowing into the crowd, killing one person, and injuring more than a dozen other. >> the man suspected of ramming his car into a crowd in charlottesville, virginia, is scheduled to appear in court today. twenty year old james alex fields, jr., faces several charges, including second degree murder. he's accused of killing 32 year old heather heyer and injuring 19 others. fields, seen here, just before the incident, was attending a unite the right rally. a white nationalist protest, against plans to remove a confederate statue from a public park. the vigil, rallies, mars, held across the country in support of the victims and against hate. in florida, chicago, michigan,

seattle. >> in charlottesville, captured the moment of the attack, described how he took the hit, potentially saving his fiancee's life. >> hear tires screach. i look up, i see people getting thrown in the air. and the only thing coy do was push my fiancee out of the way >> president trump faced criticism from both sides of the aisle over the weekend for not strongly condemning white supremicist at the rally. virginia's governor called on all politicians to take a stand. >> now white supremicist, tell the neo-nazis, tell the kkk, tell them all, we've had enough of it. >> after president trump's initial response, the white house did issue a more strongly worded statement. specifically condemning the extremist group, and calling for national unity. and the all the right organizer every saturday rally said he plans to hold a press conference in washington today , former high school

katie joining us now, i think we can all agree a nice day is always a good way to start the week. >> absolutely true. last week we had to deal with soaking rain on a monday. thankfully not the case here today. we are looking fine, even though there are some more clouds that will build with time, even more so, we don't have the expectation every wet weather until at the absolute earliest later tonight, even then it would be quite spot if i it happens at all in any given location, so looking good right now, beautiful sunrise currently underway. go check out that east facing window, take a look, role pretty site. now is the time of year where you start to see those pollen levels, rebounds willing again , so you have the spring allergy season, you have the fall allergy season and at the moment ragweed specially pretty heavy duty issue for us , but give medium to high levels throughout the day today. they'll spike against wednesday. no really significant rain coming along, keep those levels down. so, i expect that if you are an allergy sufferer, especially mowing the grass, grass allergy sufficient over err, going to be a problem the

in center city. you can see where what what you're working with, there ben franklin bridge, big thumbs-up looking great. fifty-nine, southbound direction, academy road, this area starting to heat up little bit. overall just kind of holding levels steady here. which i have to say for 95 south actually looking pretty good. now we are going to start to heat up little bit around aramingo avenue. ninety-five south, aramingo avenue. you can see penndot kind of wizzing the cameras around, with the headlight moving in the southbound direction around aramingo that's where we start to i don't want to say slow down but certainly seeing more headlights out there at this point. route one oxford valley road, headlights moving in the southbound direction, what you are working with there actually looking pretty good. we still do have couple every point every construction out route 422 eastbound on ramp to 23, that ramp still closed. jim, back to you. >> meisha, with tensions rising between the us and north korea, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff general joseph dunford is in south korea today, to meet with the lead err and military. meanwhile in guam small us territory north korea is

colors on the sunrise this morning. but, i think you're generally going to see pretty nice day unfold, this is bright, sunny, bright blue sky, looking at skies yesterday, not quite. in time those clouds will thicken up more so. we stay dry throughout the day now there are few little green speckles on storm scan three don't want you to worry about those, ground clutter, not indicative of any wet weather out there, but we will find more clouds on the satelite throughout the course of the day. so all calm, and again, quite comfortable, at the onset right now. speak every right now, 68 is the current value at the airport. dew point is relatively low. that said, you know, winds still pretty calm. it feels exactly like that thermometer actually reads. dew point, out at the shore, also low 60s, low 50's up in the mountains right now. quite the calm start to the day. comfortable, as well, with nice light winds to go along with it, now as the day progresses, going to start to heat up with time. plus, pretty seasonable level all things considered, about 84 the expected high in philadelphia. that's only 2 degrees shy of

what's seasonable, so 86 the average on this particular day with time though and those clouds you have a limit any excessive heating certainly, later tonight we may even ends up with spotty showers along the way, but coming up, meisha , about to get a lot hotter around this area, so i'll let you know just how the thermometer will climb little later on. >> all right, katie, i like the sound of that, thank you so much. good morning to awful you. happy monday. looking outside, i have to say we've been looking really good all morning long, certainly, the nice sunshine, the nice dry roadways, really helping us out this morning, but, we are are starting to heat up clearly we would know that around 6:30, on a monday morning, really where it starts. so see the boulevard, very, very slow moving, especially the far right lane, after trying to jump on to the schuylkill, that's really where you're starting to get hung up. once you jump on to the schuylkill, bumper to bumper conditions here no longer traveling at posted speeds on the boulevard, southbound, or once you jump on the schuylkill at city avenue. then just beyond these trees, if you push into the eastbound direction, actually looking okay, really the westbound side that we've got our eye on right now, some very serious

backups there. ninety-five at street road, taillights moving in the southbound direction. looking actually pretty good. as you continue southbound into center city, that is where you'll start to slow down. forty-two northbound street road, look being okay, started about these levels about 30 minute ago, and just kind of held stagnant there. hopefully we continue there, do have construction, coming up in the next ten minute, rahel, back over to you. >> meisha, thank if you. following up on breaking news this morning, police investigating a double murder in south philadelphia. officers found a couple dead inside their apartment, on the 1300 block of federal street at around 11:45 p.m. last night. police say the 50 year old man and his 23 year old girlfriends appear to have been beaten. investigators say the home was also ransack, now just moments ago, we spoke to one neighbor who says he's shocked. >> it is very odd for the neighborhood. this is passyunk square, up and coming neighborhood, really don't see things like this. >> investigators say, family member who lives on the second e

and called police. that person and another witness right now are giving statements to homicide detective. >> also new this morning, police are locking for motive and suspect in a shooting in philadelphia's mantua section, left five men injured. thirty-one shots were fired. along 39th and melon streets around 11:00 last night. police found the three men at the scene, short time later, two other victims showed up at nearby hospital. we know at least one of those men is in critical condition. police tell "eyewitness news," they are questioning people seen driving away from the area. >> a police involved shooting in chester sends several people to the hospital. police say one man was shot outside during a argument, outside the gold room baron edgemont avenue yesterday morning. when officers arrived, they say, two men got in an s.u.v. and began shooting at them. police fired back hitting both men inside the car. no word on the victim's conditions, no officers were hurt. >> to big story this morning, man accused of driving his car into crowd of protesters in charlottesville virginia will

be in court today. charged with second degree murder, he is accused of killing heather heyer and injuring 19 others saturday. he went to charlottesville for the unite the right valley. protesters had a plan to remove the statue of civil war general robert e lee from a public park. nationwide many responded by denouncing white nash list, show their support for charlottesville and the victim of the car attack again heather heyerr there. were mars, valleys, vigil ever , seattle, new york city, seattle, denver. >> main line organizers held rallies to stands up against hate groups. >> one day we point to you, may love one day replace you. >> at lynnewood park in ardmore, neighbors joined together to remind each other that there is no tolerance for bigotry or hatred in their town. >> i purposely brought my children to see so that they know that it is not just people's color that are fighting the fight, you know, we have people supporting us,

all different colors, that are not happy with the way things are going. >> now, many who attends dollars the rally say it is time the united states has administration that will strongly denounce white supremecist. delaware county also hoses rally. the stands against hate rally to support charlottesville attracted dozens of people in media. >> the demonstrators stood against the white nationalist have i lens in virginia and said choose to go support each other. >> we all had to come together and hate in any form is wrong. you know, in any, in any rang, it is just wrong, and we need to learn to overcome it. >> those who attended believe everyone should denounce violence, and hate from coast-to-coast. and the philadelphia chapter of the naacp is also denouncing the violence in charlottesville. the chapter's president rodney muhammad warns it is a symptom of what's happening across the country. >> charlottesville is just a specimen of the united state of america right now.

and charlottesville shows us, it shows me, shows our organization, that we have a lot of work in front every us, and so you can expect the naacp to take a position all over this country. >> and the naacp chapter also criticizing president trump's plan to cut the federal budget for education, says the cuts would impact disadvantaged student and special education funding. >> well, life saving discovery just in the nick of time in texas. seventeen undocumented immigrants are found blocked inside a park tractor-trailer. police made the discovery yesterday after someone called from mexico, concerned, their relative was get too long hot in the truck. the immigrants were all found alive. officials detained two cuban immigrant who operated that trailer. >> well, coming up: is your job hazardous to your health? what could make your workplace physically and emotionally taxing? >> plus, it is a common problem in many homes. i know it is in mine. one room too cold, while another is too hot.

solar eclipse happens somewhere on the planet every 18 month or so. but, the one that we will experience next monday is extraordinary, because this is a rare cross-country trip of the century that will become a seles celestial event for the history books. it is a cosmic show usually seen from space. but, soon, the best view will be on american soil. total solar eclipse. first one that will be seen in the u.s., in decades. >> this is the 99-year event. the 99 years since they a total solar eclipse, cross the entire us, west coast to the east coast. >> on august 21 the moon will past between the sun and earth e country at average speed of about 1500 miles a covering a swat roughly 70 miles wide. day will turn to n drop as much as 25 degrees. here in the philadelphia area, we will see partial eclipse. the sun will be about 80% covered. it will begin at 1:20 p.m. and
