>> president trump ask back here at trump tower and was greeted by protesters after a race-fueled violence in charlottesville. i'm hena doba in new york city , the latest from trump tower coming up. and cbs-3 is getting you ready for the solar eclipse, and explain the ways it may impact your life, maybe waste you're not aware of, but it gp s, show you how the eclipse could make your commute tough. >> today is tuesday, august 15 , i'm jim donovan. >> i'm rahel solomon. katie and probe keeping an eye on things this morning, morning, ladies. >> guys, tough commute, already, just cracking in the 6:00 hour, we have three accidents out there, car fire on the a.c. expressway, a lot going on, we will be talking about that, i don't know what's in the water right now. >> definitely wet weather out there, too. not really all that widespread , but where we have seen some rain, definately have seen damp roads left behind. not a huge, huge concern for the morning commute but certainly worth mentioning obviously. we will ends up seeing additional showers or thunderstorm, really any time

today. that's going to help limit the warmth for for the afternoon, hit mid 80s, still warm, certainly, but not the kind of heat that we will experience in future days of this forecast. for now, though, storms scan, for the most part, relatively tame. don't rest on those laurels. eventually going to end up seeing again more showers, more thunderstorms off and on at any time. the rest of the afternoon or the rest of the day just in general. seventy-three the current temperature at the airport, mid or upper 60s up and down from say allentown, traveling 222 out to reading, then, as we move forward in this forecast through the rest of the afternoon, 83 the call for philly. we're hell back to the 70s at best both at the shore and in the poconos. that sun will be quite limited , it is more clouds than anything. along with the showers, along with the thunderstorms that will come through in scattered or spotty fashion any time today. meisha? >> katie, thank you so much. so yes, talking about the commute, yes, that rain coming down in certain parts will slow us down, especially we start to see the cameras. looking outside right now, we

have accident here. this is the schuylkill west before girard. just short little moment, all lanes are block, and has been moved all the way off to the shoulder. and starting to see tension casino every ease up little bit as you kind of wiz by. looking at this back up shot. this is the schuylkill, headlight westbound direction, near where that accident was. and i would say five minutes ago, it was literally bumper to bumper conditions. now, we can see that tension starting to ease just little bit. but because of the volume starting to hit the roadway ways now, still busy around there. so around girard, schuylkill westbound, maybe start to add a couple of extra minutes into your commute. eastbound side looking okay. it is really the westbound side that i've got my eye on for you, disable vehicle here, 95 south past girard, pulled off to the shoulder, blocking right lane, and the a.c. expressway. this is where we have an accident. and a car fire. so a.c. expressway westbound, near route 168. still showing some green if i were you, i would start to tack on little extra time, we are going to start to slow down in the area. also, police incident going on

here, black horse pike closed right now, albany avenue >> a lot going on, plus tacking about survey operations, nine at north between bridge street and cottman avenue starts 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. jim, rahel, back to you. >> new this morning, crews returned three people to the hospital including firefighter after a massive fire at northeast philadelphia apartment building. >> "eyewitness news" reporter trang do has been at the scene all morning long, trang, good morning. what do we know now? >> reporter: good morning, that firefighter you mentioned had minor injury, but officer on scene tells me one of those two injured residents had to be revived by cpr. but take a look, i'll move out of the way so you can see this apartment complex. five crews just now starting to pull away from the scene here. they've been here for hours. after putting out this fire, just checking out this building, we are where dozen every people written side when the fire broke out. fortunately we're told the alarm system inside the

building was working but take a look at the scene few hours ago, fire started just before 12:30 a.m. inside the canterbury amount, 9900 block of academy road. firefighters arrived to find heavy fire coming from second story apartment. paramedics transported two people, one person inside the apartment, and another person from an apartment next-door. to area hospitals. medics also transported a firefighter to the hospital with a minor injury. in all, 50 people are displaced this morning. >> one building is affected, one apartment actually has the fire in it, we have smoke damage and water damage. that's why we have such high number of displaced. >> we received this picture from "eyewitness news" viewer of flames shooting out of that second floor apartment, window , just before firefighters arrived here on scene. now the city's office of emergency management and the red cross are helping those displaced families, meanwhile, academy road as well as morrell avenue had been closed off to traffic is now back

it is mainly cloudy but we are going to see maybe bit of it, peak through the clouds, 74 in the mountains, and up to 78 at best at the shore. so i would not call this is the best shore day that we have ever seen certainly, but again, anyone is far game no matter where you are to see shower or thunderstorm today, if not several. heat up this part of the week, current situation is that a weak front crossing through, but tomorrow high pressure regains control, and it is going to clear out pretty quickly here. and we will heat up easily, meantime, the day of the total solar eclipse is now on our seven day, so we will be able to give you preview what we are thinking the weather will be like here in the delaware valley little later on, meisha >> all right, sounds good to me. thank you so much, katie, very good morning to all of you. happy tuesday, look outside right now, things are getting little busy. what we have here, looks really hazy. what we are actually looking at is some smoke from a car fire. so vehicle fire actually went into the woods, and i think that what we are seeing right there still the fire.

again, not sure if the vehicle went off in the woods, either way, vehicle on fire, now it is kind of off to the side. and there is also some brush that is on fire here. schuylkill eastbound, before gladwynn, that's where we are starting to see it get very very slow again, that's pushing in the eastbound direction. let's take a look at a back up shot. the back up shot heading up to where that is, isn't actually all that substantial. really just up by gladwynn. that we're looking at. so looking okay here, maybe seeing some brake lights go off. the backups aren't that bad. i would still, however, caution to get some extra time for sure. ninety-five south betsy ross bridge, looking pretty slow, putting on brake lights, no longer traveling at posted speeds and an accident and car fire, a.c. expressway westbound, near 168, 42 freeway, jim, back over to you >> thank you shall meisha. three people including firefighter are recovering this morning, after an apartment building goes up in flames in northeast philadelphia. flames errupted on the academy road and morrell avenue just before 12:30 this morning. firefighters returned to the scene to find fire commodore barry g from the second floor of the canterbury court
