prospect" that white supremacists are a collection of browns. bannon >> in other news this morning happening today the preliminary hearing for the man charged in a road rage shooting. he faces first and third degree murder charges in the shooting death of an 18-year-old. investigators say he shot her in june after both drivers tried to merge into the same lane. he is being held without bail. also we now know the identity of a man who urinated on a northeast philadelphia synagogue. he is facing numerous charges including ethnic intimidation and institutional vandalism. eyewitness news was there as he surrendered to police tuesday

night. police say he was caught on video making an obscene hand gesture and urinating on a synagogue. >> while a woman is suing event organizers and several other people after she was seriously hurt at a pumpkin launching competition in delaware. she suffered severe injuries. a trap door flew off one of the cannons and hit her in the face. she now has brain damage and lost vision in one eye. no word on how much money she is seeking. another legal setback in the town of margate in the ongoing dune controversy. a federal court upheld a court order to continue with the project. officials have argued that ponding water near the construction site has caused a safety hazard. three more shore towns are getting sand dunes.

a judge ruled against ocean front manahawkin. >> a new project on the ben franklin bridge. this is the plan for the bridge's camden side. builders plan to replace the existing stairway with a ramp. that way anyone else with a stroll or bike ride has an easier time getting on the path. construction kicks off this fall and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2019. speaking of transit, septa launches an app giving the power to report things to police. there's a free app on their smart phone, riders can report emergencies, suspicious activity and other general safety issue. officials say it's all part of

an effort to improve safety and security. >> with smart phones everywhere, getting real-time information from riders makes a critical difference for police and other first responders. we count on our customers to help be the eyes and ears of the system. >> and a dispatcher monitors the information coming in and can communicate with riders. riders can also receive alerts through the app. setpa officials plan to combine this new app with its main app. >> the bills are in town for the birds first home game of the preseason. the birds lost their first preseason game against the packers in green bay last thursday night. we'll have more on tonight's game coming up in our next hour. you still have a chance to be a multi-millionaire. no one won the jackpot. >> one lucky person in los angeles did get five out of six numbers.

the search continues in the waters off hawaii for five crew members of an army helicopter that crashed. the coast guard says the blackhawk helicopter went down during a training exercise on tuesday night. crews have found parts of a fuselage and a helmet so far. >> right now those search efforts are focused around a debris field and some pieces of debris have started to be recovered. >> several aircraft and boats are being used in that search. >> officials say several tornadoes touched down in minnesota. an eyewitness captured this funnel cloud last night. authorities believe that five possible tornadoes swirld through the area. nearby a tree was uprooted and crashed into a home with someone inside.

see it rise very beautifully here early this morning and thankfully not the fog issue like we had yesterday, that is now a memory at least for now. we're eventually going to see the humidity creep up, the return of showers and thunderstorms and that will primarily happen tomorrow. if you've got outdoor plans, keep them. they're good. let's talk about gert. this is the strongest hurricane we've had so far for the atlantic season of 2017. it is a cat 2 at the moment and strengthening interestingly as it travels north. now it still is expected to remain out to sea. not posing any direct threat whatsoever to north america. and it really isn't expected to lose its hurricane status until
