welcome back everyone. want to give you sense of how these thunderstorms are going to shake out. we'll talk timing here, but first and for most looking at another view of storm scan3. we still have a cluster of storms making its departure out to sea thankfully but still affecting the shore points in central ocean county like barnegat light, for example, but notice what's happening. some of that cloud cover starter to go thin out. we're starting to see that sun come out. that is the problem. when it comes to stronger storms. because the more sunlight you get the more heat can build in the atmosphere the instability
12:20 pm
then you end up with in advance of this very potent cold front. storms already breaking out back across central pennsylvania. it's all part of much larger system. warm front lift in it allowed that heat the humidity and the instability to start getting underway and start building. and until this cold front crosses we won't be rid of now that front looks like it will start to get here even as early as midday. let's walk you through future weather. we'll take you out to 2:00 p.m. by this point west most lancaster into western berks county and heck even the poconos could be dealing with some very heavy thunderstorms and we are going to see this whole massive storms just trek east over the next few hours. so come three, 4:00 p.m.,ism 95, schuylkill, 476, all of those major highways could be getting absolutely clobbered with incredibly heavy rain. when you start to see the pinks, magentas showing up on rainfall intensity contour like that, you're talking incredibly heavy rainfall. if you find yourself traveling in this you got to slow down. you might have to pull over.
12:21 pm
okay. so keep that in mind. now looking ahead towards six, 7:00 p.m. starting to make its migration towards the shore points this could be a really drenching thunderstorm that crosses through cape may, atlantic county. you might have to duck into one of the boardwalk shops to beat it. now, it starts to clear out later on tonight. then once it clears out it clears out. we end up with some really nice weather into the weekend. let's talk severe threat briefly sorry sitting in slight risk for severe weather here pretty much region wide. based on the timing and based on the fact that skies are starting to clear. the primary threats are these top three downpours wind and frequent lightning already seen storm cells with those three. moderate chance even for hail even though it's not a guarant guarantee, we could see tornado out of some of these storms. so you've got to stick with us and make sure that you keep it tuned to either cbsphilly.com or any of our sister radios stations let you know how things are progressing there. also be on the air if we need to. meanwhile your comfort index it's a diss comfort index today. the dew point is so high at

philadelphia international airport the dew .75. you're topping the charts with these dew points. i even saw in millville a dew point of 80 degrees. i mean you walk out the door and you're sweating immediately with those kinds of humidity levels. now this will start to clear out come tomorrow. as do the storms certainly we'll need time for that to take place at the moment our current temperatures are in the low mid 80s. it feels more like the upper 90s right now in dover and wildwood when you factor in that humidity, guys. but look at the sunshine it really has brightened up outside of beach patrol head quarter if's margate here, for example n our live neighborhood network you can even see that daylight scattered from the shadows and the clouds out over jim thorpe one of our poke knowing cams and ukee will be hanging out in jim thorpe later on today. but it will up by sunlight as we move forward in our "eyewitness weather" seven day forecast, we keep the upper 80s. this cold front does not live up to its name per se it doesn't cool us down but it does clear out the worst of the humidity and we're back to sunshine through the weekend for eclipse day.
