7:18 am
temperature right around 85 or so today. slightly above. that generally a seasonal day, but once we get into september and october those temperatures start to kind of fall off a little bit, looking into the september 20 time frame there and a average high of 77. by the time we get to this point in october. we are looking for highs to only be in the 60's. cooler temperatures right around the corner. lots of folks are sick of the hot, humid weather will you it will be falling before we know it. what we can expect this week? it will start out nice on monday, for the most part we will see clear conditions across the delaware valley but front does start to slide, slide in as we get toward the end of our, kind of monday night into tuesday, time frame , and then that will really push all the way through region as we go tuesday into wednesday bringing with it a few chances of mid week thunderstorms and then a comfortable second half of the week on the back side of the front we will get cooler, and then, of course, lower humidity after another rise in that dew point range up in the 70's for tuesday and
7:19 am
wednesday, and our neighborhood network outside, down in rehoboth here this morning a nice quiet start to the day, a very nice clear start to the day as well, and as we look at what we can expect eclipse wise across the entire country. path of totality from same, i had help halls, lincoln, nebraska, through missouri and push off coastline once it gets past south carolina you can see glean on the maps. lots of areas along that path of totality look like they will have, clear skies. new york city we are in the same that kind of scene as they are here in philadelphia we will go with 80 percent of the, sun will be covering up and overall our visibility will be looking pretty good at lee here in philadelphia eclipse start around 1:20 in the afternoon when shadow of the moon will start to pass across the sun, and what that will be is we will have good visibility. as the 80 percent part of our solar eclipse taking over. when we see 80 percent of the sun coming up, around 2:44 or
7:20 am
2:45 tomorrow afternoon, still here in philadelphia we are looking at good visibility. if you are heading further south of the city down into delaware, parts of the del marva peninsula or heading maybe a little bit west some clouds could be moving in the region. so be prepared for. that keep an eye to the sky, and if you do see some cloud cover. better chance for that are south and west of the city for the cloud and then our visibility here in philadelphia still remains good as our eclipse ends just around 4:00 o'clock or so in the afternoon. not too much on our surface analysis, high pressure in control. it slides to thee as we go through the day tomorrow and that is why we could be looking for some cloud cover to move in and maybe even a scattered thunderstorm to push through the region in the evening hours on our monday. start the day out in the 60's, it starts at 69 in philadelphia we will get up to 87 this afternoon. eighty-eight for our high temperature tomorrow and spotty storms on tuesday, all the way in the 90's but a much quieter and second half of the week, thursday and friday looking good, thanks, matt.

7:45 am
reading coming in at 65. dew points are lower then yesterday, we had 70's around this time yesterday for our dew point. right now we have 50's and 60 's. dew point this is afternoon still staying in the comfortable range but monday, we are back up in the lower to mid 60's for our dew points, maybe even some 70's and then for tuesday. so muggy weather is back in the forecast especially with some showers and thunderstorm activity out there thunderstorm chances tomorrow are scattered, low and they will be until the evening time frame 88 degrees our high on monday after 87 today. ninety's back in the forecast on tuesday. thunderstorms into wednesday and then it gets much more quiet and comfortable heading in to thursday and friday. >> okay, matt, thank you. 7:45. time to chick the roads and highways. lets go over to amanda mueller in the cbs-3 traffic center. good morning, a manned. good morning, jan many. worst thing drivers to have contend with on the roadways is that sun glare and after a morning full of construction i'm sure many will take that. this is a live look at i-95

might keep them on but they are so hard to get, and nobody seems to be able to find these right now. i think that just to take away about tomorrow because we cannot look at the sun. what is the problem for our pets. if you have got animals you know they are not spending their time looking up at the sun. so they are probably. >> they are smart. >> according to nasa, vets they will not spend time watching the moon go across the sun as we are seeing right here in this video. they will be on the ground doing their normal thing. that said, some animals can exhibit especially in the area where they have the total eclipse. we have only partial eclipse here but in areas of the total eclipse some animals as that sky darkens the cattle may say wow, nighttime came early and they may decide to head back to the barn. you can hear insects, frogs, chirping, bird can fooled by all of this but our pets not so much.
7:54 am
now, you know, it is so rare we have had any kind of an eclipse and that sort of thing but there does than the seem to be any kind of history of pet blindness, does not, again , under score does not seem to be any kind of history of pet blindness when we have had these eclipse. ninety-nine year ago we had a portion one, about 38 years ago or won that could be visible in the u.s. so that doesn't seem to be the issue with him. according to, marvin, aren't you darling, according to a lot of the vets, the real issue with pets and this eclipse is, taking them, to the event, and not just that they are going to be doing what we are tempt todd do which is look up, but they will be focusing on the ground they will be focusing more on your behavior. so if you are screaming, yelling, jumping around that doesn't mean they are looking up at the eclipse but they are getting more agitated. the advice is to pretty much keep animals away from these

large cloud because people will get very excited when they see that eclipse start. it starts 1:21. partial eclipse. i which try these glasses on, debbie, just love that marvin has had these on. you can imagine they have not made any special won, for the pets that i'm aware of and trying to keep them on anybody would be absolutely ridiculous so i think the take away here is if you are going to be out watching your dog and you don't have these glasses, it is not that your dog will look up but you might look up. >> it is a human issue. >> so during that time frame of that partial eclipse, you can keep. >> you two timer. >> make sure you take your precautions with your eyes, your pets are wise enough that they are not looking up and you may be finding odd behavior. let me talk about a couple of
