ntsb in the middle of investigating a train crash at this septa terminal in upper darby. second one this year. >> we're just at the scene and starting to get our investigation started. our mission during this accident investigation is to understand not just what happened, but why it happened. why it happened, and to recommend change toss prevent it from occurring again. >> reporter: overnight crash happened when norristown line train over ran its stop at 69th street terminal, and slammed into another parked train. >> on board video recorders from the two railcars involved , have been down loaded and they will be sent to our vehicle recorder lap in d.c. for further analysis. >> reporter: three dozen injured in the crash, four seriously hurt. >> i understand, evening work, you get concerns as a mayor. >> reporter: sixty-ninth street terminal is one of the largest transportation centers in the state, with yet another crash here just months apart. the mayor of the upper darby is looking for federal help.

>> i reached out to congressman brady whose district this is. i know bob has a tremendous ability to break through red tape like did he in the amtrak situation and bring federal dollars if necessary to see what systems we can put in here. >> reporter: mayor hoping to make sure another train passengers traveling through here doesn't have this experience. >> i looked up and seen we are at 69th street. i said why are we going so fast and we just hit the train , boom. >> reporter: ntsb spokesperson was clear that we will not know the cause of the crash, while investigators are out here. they will have to take the evidence collected back to d.c. and sort through it. that will likely take months. in fact we still don't have an official cause of the crash that happened back in february reporting live from upper darby, alycia nieves for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> thanks very much. suspect wanted for murder in haverford township this past july has been arrested, in georgia. authorities say derek rollins went on the run after killing

facing different directions. it is clear that somebody if not several people came out to knock down these tomb stones. i spoke to one of the members here at this church with so much history, he says he is mad, upset, he wants to find out who did this, as soon as possible. >> what kind of person could do this? who could do this? why would you want to desecrate a cemetery? i don't know. i'm repeat ago this all day, why? >> reporter: authorities have been here all day crime scene units and northeast detectives trying to find out who would have done something like this taking potential fingerprints. this looks like a crime scene a few moments ago, authorities are taking that evidence back to try to figure out who did this, no surveillance video unfortunately behind this church but again people very upset tonight at 10 and 11:00 you'll hear from someone who has family members buried here since 1891. reporting live from northeast

philadelphia, david spunt for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> see you then, thank you. tonight we are learning one of the sailors missing after the accident involving the u.s.s. john mccain is from our area. >> lets get out to "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff live from cherry hill tonight, alex, what can you tell us. >> reporter: well, ken smith grew up in a family of sailors so they did move around quite often but he spent at lee his senior year here in cherry hill. he attended cherry hill east high school in 2013 and according to his year book photos smith was president of the video game club. now 22, serving as an electronic technician aboard u.s.s. john mccain and he and nine others have been missing since vessel collided in the water of southe asia yesterday here's his mother speaking from her home in michigan. >> i just want to be over there searching, in every country, singapore is searching and rescue as well.

others met with the mayor yesterday, and discussion about this has started and mayor assured us nothing will be removed or moved at this time. we also call on council person helen gym to apologize and recall her bigoted remarks which continue to divide our city and promote violence. council would man's gym office told cbs-3 that she had never made any bigoted remarks and claims of any remarks should be substantiated and made public. meantime suspect has been charged for vandal icing that rizzo statue, wally roman is charged with criminal mischief , institutional vandalism and december creating objects. thursday police say he spray painted black pur on the statue. bill cosby was back in the montgomery county courtroom today he has new attorneys and delayed day for his retrial. eighty year-old comedian will now be represented by tom mesereau, mesereau won an acquittal for michael jackson in 2005 child molestation trial. judge now says the earliest

wednesday bring loss of water, sun screen and something to sit on but organizers are saying specifically this year, no drones. in atlantic city, cleve bryan, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". good to be out there. >> yes. >> what a cool event today, hot, steamy especially in the city, all that concrete trapping in the heat. those people down there have a little sea breeze but feels brutal, but it is about to come to an end. this is is just a brief blast of the summer heat and humidity but blast it is looking live from center city philadelphia sunshine in the scene and a lot of heat. 91 degrees right now. feeling like 97 degrees factoring in that humidity. we have a healthy breeze out of the southwest at 21 miles an hour but still just blowing around that hot air, heat advisory back for philadelphia and surrounding suburbs for next couple of hours. it will expire at 8:00 p.m. and still hot, steamy 89 degrees in trenton. eighty-nine in wilmington.

eighty-nine in allentown. feels like temperatures are still, quite brutal feeling like 90's in wilmington, in philadelphia, mid 90's in the lehigh valley and berks county those dew points are way elevated in the 70-degree range. we are talking florida like humidity values right now but as we head in the day tomorrow we will start off muggy especially if you are an early reiser but dew points dropping off back in the middle 50's by end of the day, feeling so much more comfortable, by tomorrow evening but overnight tonight still muggy, warm, low temperature falling back down to 74. scattered showers, thunderstorms developing west of i-95 starting to see activity picking upright now. still quiet in confines of the delaware valley with sunshine around and showers and thunderstorms developing across portions of the western and central pennsylvania, and you can see that direction moving eastbound and it will approach our western areas as we head in the second half of the evening and severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for most areas in the delaware valley west of the

city until midnight tonight. that does include berks county , lehigh valley and poconos and western pennsylvania suburbs. future weather shows thaws line will approach berks county, lehigh valley, poconos eight or 9:00, it is still quite potent as the line is. but trends for it to weaken and we will see rainfall in and around center city philadelphia, south jersey as we head throughout the overnight period and that line continuing to weaken. we will have a higher threat west of the sit and lowest threat off to thee as we head throughout the overnight per. could see early morning shower lingering but then turning over to sunshine and low humidity. not as high temperature tomorrow at 84 degrees and after 90's today in the lehigh valley and berks county highs only in the 70's tomorrow, feeling so much better, we will get in the low to mid 80 's down the shore but we have a beautiful stretch of weather in store as we head in the end of the weekend, upcoming weekend thursday 82 degrees, low humidity and
