ntsb try to figure out what caused yesterday's train crash that hurt dozens of passengers >> "eyewitness news" reporter trang do is live with more on what investigators had to say, good morning, trang do. >> reporter: good morning, jim and rahel. they plan to interview train operator today who has already submitted samples for drug and alcohol testing. they plan to be out here at the scene gathering evidence but it will be sometime before we get any answers. ntsb investigators combed tracks at 69th street terminal after a terrifying crash between two norristown high speed line railcars. one pulling into the station, the other park on the track. the accident which happened just after midnight on tuesday injured 33 people, including the train operator. >> i see that we have 69th street, why are we going so fast, boom. >> reporter: ntsb investigators charged rubin takeon they have a eight member team on the ground in upper darby.

>> they will be collecting evidence in the specific discipline which includes mechanical, operation, signal, train control, crash worth iness, emergency response , and human performance. >> reporter: so far investigators select on board video recorders from both railcars and they have plans to interview the operator sometime wednesday. >> we cannot rule out anything right now. >> reporter: passenger told "eyewitness news" that the train seemed to have trouble breaking at two prior stops. >> i talk to the guy at gulph mills and he said that is not right, it never passes like. that something is wrong. >> reporter: there was very little visible damage, he says further inspection should provide some needed answers. >> we saw some damage from walking inside, once we can get under the cars and tear into them, we will know just what extent they were damaged and whether they performed as designed. >> reporter: ntsb investigators take quite a long time to see, final report could take nine to 12 months to be released.
