happy friday, everyone. summer fest is rolling into haddonfield, south jersey town is rich, in history, filled with charm, and so very well coming to those who stroll along its quaint streets, good evening everyone i'm jessica dean. coming to you live, from haddonfield, new jersey, every friday this summer we are taking to you wonderful places all across the delaware valley and showing you how we all celebrate summer and we are doing it right here in haddonfield this week. glad to be with us, hopefully you're having a good day. so many wonderful stores up and down this kings highway which is kind of main thoroughfare through haddonfield, and earlier this week i came into town, and browse aid few and found some history, lets take a look. drive or walk down kings high was in haddonfield and you will see historic homes lining the road. just up the way shops and restaurants wait to welcome you inn side.

the afternoon tomorrow but in the city we are feeling like fall, cool start, 79 in the afternoon, sunday, sunny, gorgeous at 80 degrees, but not so gorgeous for portions of the south central you had as category three hurricane harvey bears down on the texas coast. coming up we will have the latest track and strength of harvey and latest rainfall forecast for southern texas, for now back to guess contact. kate, our hearts are certainly with all of those people in texas and we will update you on that. in the meantime back here in haddonfield, one of the unique pieces of history, here in haddonfield is its fire company, fire department is the second oldest, volunteer, volunteer fire company in the country, as a museum inside celebrates what would have been a treacherous profession until 17 and 1800. two hand pumps are perfectly preserved showing how physical that job was for those who had to work the water. >> back in the old days you

didn't have the masks, you just went in. it was a thrill, pleasure helping people in the town. you are helping somebody. you are doing a town a favor by helping people in the town, >> psychology has come a long way since day of leather buckets and water and flannel shirts. today department is state of the art and volunteers respond to about 500 to 600 fire alarms every year. we are still in summer. not a whole lot of it left but way to still celebrate summer for all of us and nothing better than a great beach read or laying in the hammock with a good book. i like to check out library in towns that we visit to see what they have on display and here in haddonfield public library has best sellers, and the classics but they have got so much more than that. we sent our jim donovan to check it out. >> welcome. >> reporter: seeing john williams reading in library isn't that unusual.

>> good job. >> kate bilo is here not far us from lets check with her, kate, weekend looking good. >> weekend is looking great, guys. tonight is very, very comfortable if you like this you'll love what the weekend has to offer but before we get to the weather here at home i want to update you on the latest on hurricane harvey a powerful system, of course, churning in the gulf of mexico lets look at the latest, it is a category three hurricane wind topping 125 miles an hour , those are sustain wind, gusts are higher then. that governor of texas has declared a state of disaster for 30 counties in the storm's path. residents who live in those low lying coastal areas like barrier island are told to move in land while they can, we have been told we cannot come get you so get out while you still can. hurricane harvey is expected to make land fall late tonight or early tomorrow morning, very close to the coast, right now. lets take a look at latest loop of hurricane harvey and a massive intense storm, it has

been drawing off warm waters off mexico and bearing down on carp us christie as we speak. almost looks like under going eye wall replacement, increased confection on there around the eye hurricane warnings in place extending from houston down toward the brownsville area but certainly it is area around carp us christie and barrier island that look to be hardest hit by land falling storm. then problems continue. watch what happened. we expect harvey to make land fall late tonight as category three major hurricane, could strengthen more but impact will be about the same. major hurricane causing 12- foot storm surge, very strong wind and heavy rain but watch what happens through wednesday that storm sits and spins possibly restrengthening a bit leading to catastrophic rainfall and flooding, some indications that are 15 to 30 inches of rain could blanket this area with some spots picking up as much as 40 d locations. average annual ran fall in corpus christi is just over 30 t

and welcome back to haddonfield high school where we're here as part of our cbs-3 summer if he and i'm here talking about the philadelphia eagles. they are off today they had no practice, of course, they are recovering from their game last night at lincoln financial field. the bird beating the miami dolphins 38-31, pretty good performance by the guys on the offensive side of the ball. carson wentz had himself a good ballgame six for 10, 129- yard, threw two touchdowns but had an interception. with that said wentz said the owe even if is improving. >> we're not sure how much we played but we came out, and did some good things. the interception was unfortunate but aside from that we were moving the ball well. i thought things were clicking

pretty good. >> eagles linebacker michael kendricks continues to impress this preseason, he has three picks during exhibition campaign, one of them returned for a touchdown last night. the eagles wrap up their pre season schedule next thursday when they visit new york jets. >> doug pederson says the team is moving in the right direction. >> i feel real comfortable with where they are at. their focus obviously now is in a couple weeks. they can get some really good work, one on one work in these next few practices and kind of get ready for the regular season. >> a little fun at the game last night this happened in the second quarter, fans were absolutely captivated, a squirrel all over the field, at the 40, 30, and then finally, off the turf and out of everybody's sight.
