transportation is available. >> hundreds of americans sit shoulder to shoulder inside a military cargo plane. refugees from the chaos on the caribbean island of st. maarten. they were flown day and night by the air national guard after enduring the wrath of hurricane irma. devastation as far as the eye can see. some of the exhausted civilians managed to get shut-eye on the flight. they were relieved to be back on u.s. territory. irma continues to cause chaos as the storm heads inland. and there was anger and frustration as authorities blocked the only road to the hard hit florida keys. >> i have water, i have food, i have dogs. and i can't get to my house. >> this should have been thought out. >> right now we don't know where to go. >> stretches of the highway were open today. as millions fled from the path of irma, many left behind

frightened pets. some were even left tethered to trees or porches. >> dozens of pets were rescued during the storm. pets that were left to fend for themselves. now they're here getting the proper care and hopefully a new home. >> this little guy was not just abandoned. he was also found injured in the storm. and has had surgery. >> this is really disappointing to see people leave without taking their pets with them. >> and look at this. former university of florida quarterback tim tebow visited a shelter in jacksonville and was by a world war ii vet. >> nice moment. for survivors of the storm, the new reality is getting along without power. 5million people have no electricity across five states thanks to hurricane irma. so they are faced with keeping the food last and keep the families safe until the lights come back on. >> millions of people in florida and all over the southeast have no electricity.

no lights or air-conditioning. but worst of all, no way to keep food from spoiling. >> the priority is to eat food that you know is safe. >> now we're getting practical advice on how to deal with this crisis from red cross spokesman craig cooper. fortunately the family in miami shores has a generator. but it is expected to run out of fuel today. >> once you lose power, you really only have about four hours in your refrigerator and things spoil. so things like the milk, cheese, get them into the freezer. because the freezer, if you don't open and close it, things can stay in the freezer for up to 48 hours. >> another tip, don't rush to eat canned food. >> these are the things, let's say, that you would eat last. and it is thing like canned fish, tuna, you're a fan of sardines. good for you. that is the type of thing that you can open up the can and eat. that is the type of thing that you can wait on.

>> an outdoor grill can be a life-saver. >> if you bring out a pot of water as long as the water is clean, you can boil the water, put pasta into it. vegetables you can cook. grilled vegetables are wonderful to eat. >> no power means no lights at night. here is a safety tip. >> push furniture like this to the side of the room so you have a clear path. it is easier for the kids. and it makes things safer for everybody. >> good advice for our fellow americans who find themselves today without power. >> deborah: we're told it will be weeks before days before power is restored in many areas because in many places before the power can be put back on, the grid has to be rebuilt. this sunday marks this sunday's emmy's awards with stephen colbert as the host. he spoke with our jim moret about the buzz that he might be taking some shots at president trump in between the opening of

boutique in jennifer's two- toned rolls roadways. check out where they parked. it is in a no parking zone and a handicap spot. maybe harrison ford will give them a ticket. >> deborah: a rep for jennifer lopez told us, no comment. it was a story that made headlines around the world. a beautiful model kidnapped when she arrived on what she thought was a high profile photo shoot. her abductors told she was put up for sale on the dark web. incredibly she got away. for the first time she is describing her ordeal in this exclusive interview with our diane mcinerney. >> hi, chloe. >> the world has been waiting to hear from woman's firsthand account of her six days of hell at the hands of a kidnapping ring. chloe ayling made international news after she was kidnapped and offered up for sale as a sex slave on the dark web. >> sow were held in cab test for six days. >> uh-huh. >> what was that like?

>> two months ago, the 20-year- old from london thought she had been hired for a high profile gig in one of the fashion capitals of the world, milan, italy. things went bad moments after she arrived at this studio for what she thought was the first day of her photo shoot. >> i opened the studio door and a hand comes there behind on my neck and another hand on my glove stopping me from breathing and screaming. and another glove rushes around in front of me and tackle me to the floor and a syringe goes in and it goes black. >> when you finally woke up, where were you? >> i was in the trunk of a car in a black dipper bag and i had tape on my mouth, my happens and ankle were handcuffed. >> she had been stripped of her clothes and shoes and stuffed inside of a duffle bag. a police woman reenacted this ordeal in this police photo. >> you're in the trunk of a car and you wake up. >> i was banging like that on there to get their attention and shouting driver, driver.

>> chloe was taken to a remote farmhouse two hours outside of milan. then she was hauled out and handcuff today a dresser. >> when you asked him, why did you kidnap me, what did he say. >> he said you've already been put up for sale. >> they put you up for sale. >> yes. >> where. >> on the dark web. >> they put you up for sale on the dark web. >> yes. >> a mysterious place on the worldwide web available to those with access to special software is where people can buy child pornography, drugs and apparently even humans. these were the photos used to sell chloe. the starts price for the model, $300,000. >> and were people making offers to buy you? >> yes. he said there is already a huge interest in you. >> chloe was able to talk her way to freedom after telling her two abductors she had a 2- year-old son. apparently she says they took pity on her. she was driven to the british

consulate and set free. the alleged captors were arrested. lucas and his brother miguel. but chloe's account had been met with some degree of skepticism. for one thing, during six days in captivity, she went shopping for sneakers with one of his kidnappers. >> what to you say to the people who ask why didn't you try to escape. >> he said i would be killed if i escape. >> so he threatened your life. >> with yes. >> once safe and sound in london, chloe refused to go into detail, offering just a brief statement to reporters. >> i feared for my life. >> much to her surprise, chloe found herself being ridiculed on social media. these photos were posted by other models mocking her ordeal. >> how did you react when you saw this. >> disgust. >> do you feel you're lucky to be alive. >> so lucky. really, really lucky. >> deborah: the two suspects deny any wrong doing. chloe says she hopes her story will be a warning, not just to models but young women

ago, left mary jo with a partially paralyzed face. and still to this day unable to smile. >> it affects your self-esteem. it does when you can't put on a big bright smile. >> after the shooting her husband joey served six months for statutory rape. his 17-year-old lover went to prison for seven years. >> here i was out in public with a very paralyzed disformed face. >> in 2003, mary jo and joey finally split. and all this time, mary jo remained upset by her physical appearance. >> this year i had a hard time with it. i had a really hard time with it. >> her damaged facial muscles also seem to be deteriorating. >> this is paralyzed. you can't get that back. >> repairing her smile would mean the world to them. >> she doesn't think of herself as pretty, beautiful. it is completely the opposite. the most beautiful woman i know

inside and out. >> and now only "inside edition" is with mary jo as she meets with her doctor, a surgeon who was developed a pioneering procedure that he believes will fix the smile that haunts her daily. >> i'm so excited for you. >> there are certain muscles that are obstructing her from smiling. so we're going to rewire her nerves. >> with a thumbs off, mary jo is off to the surgery 25 years in the making. the doctor marks where he will make incisions. now the tedious process of testing each nerve in her face. he uses a nerve stimulator to tag which microscopic nerves are working and which are misfiring. >> believe it or not, some of the nerves are actually causing her smile to get worse. >> next, rewiring her smile. he is one of the only doctors in the world who performs facial nerve surgery. he also gives mary jo a face lift to even out how she is

wedding photos in an antique store. the biggest surprise was yet to come. >> jane foster was shopping downtown when something in the window of this antique store caught her attention. >> i totally jumped and i'm sure my feet left the sidewalk. i couldn't believe it. >> what was it that had jane freaking out? it was long lost wedding photographs. not just any photos. >> all my life we saw this picture on the wall in my home. i stood there and linked and blinked and blinked. it was my mother's wedding picture. you blink and think you're seeing things. oh, my gosh. it is my mother's wedding pictures. >> she has been searching for the vintage wedding photos for 14 years. how did they go missing? back in 2003, the photos were tucked away in this storage facility. after jane's family missed a payment on the locker, their possessions were auctioned off. >> i was crazed. absolutely crazed. i made 40 or 50 phone calls.

easily. trying to track down something. and they were all dead end. >> then came that moment at the antique store in grand junction, colorado. >> i remember clutching my chest and i said oh my gosh that is my long lost mother. >> jane was in for an even bigger surprise. the owner remembered purchasing the photo along with something else from the storage facility, a wedding gown. >> this is where it was. back here, hidden away. >> yep. it is the dress jane's mom wore back in 1948. >> so this is yours. >> oh. this is her dress. >> sadly, her mom passed away in 2013. but having these treasured family memories back has made jane feel like her mom is still with her. >> i can feel her. it is a wonderful feeling. >> deborah: what are the chances in when we come back, katy perry's buddy, the
