down the road it is pouring. these pop up showers are with us all day long. it is starting to bryant up. heaviest ban pushed north and west of philadelphia but you can see we have some fog and low cloud, hanging over city, warm, moist air in place and we will deal with fog issues over next several days as well lets go out to storm scan three and see center of the circulation, this was down over louisiana into portions of tennessee, and now that swirl moving up over indiana and ohio, and eventually tomorrow that will come through for us. we are still dealing with the outer bands, heaviest has pushed through, you can see that moved off to the north over long island they have got showers and thunderstorms. we are clearing it out not much more in the way of steady rainfall or heavier showers but some mist, drizzle, fog will be around tonight and then again tonight that means center of circulation comes through tomorrow. spotty showers, light mist, drizzle low visibility on the road, that is at 9:00. heading in to tomorrow we will start like today with a few breaks of blue skies in the

southwest florida tomorrow, stopping in the naples area. correspondent moa lenghi is in florida with more on the continuing clean up, after irma. >> reporter: more than 100 elderly patientness a hollywood florida nursing home were evacuated wednesday after three patients were found, dead in the facility. several more died at the hospital. others are still in the er. >> mess of the patients have, been treated for respiratory distress, hydration and heat related issues. >> reporter: police opened a criminal investigation looking into whether the center had electricity or using generators in the wake of irma >> that is part of the criminal investigation as to how cool they actually were, where there was cooling anything. >> reporter: across florida, crews are working around the clock to restore power. utility officials say they are making progress but some customers will be in the dark for more than a week. >> we're sitting at restoring 60 percent of the outages that we experienced during irma.

president trump is reaching across the aisle for help on his signature issues tax reform. one democratic lawmakers received inmates to the white house today for discussions on how to get it done. >> thank you very much. >> reporter: president trump sat down with house republicans and democrats to talk tax reform. >> we want to have a great new tax cut and tax reform simplification and massive cuts and we want to get our country working again and competing again worldwide. >> reporter: he is making a pitch to both part toys get congress to act object one of his top priorities. the president has not provided a specific plan for tax overhaul. >> the rich will not be gaining at all with this plan. we're looking for middle class , and we're looking for jobs. >> reporter: republicans on capitol hill are working on the details and promised a draft by the end of the month. >> i would love to have democrats supporting and working with us, but we will do it, no matter what. >> reporter: after republicans failed to repeal and replace

coast time, at freeman high school in rockford. police have the shooter in custody. no details on the age or their condition at this time. philadelphia police are investigating a home invasion that sent a resident to the hospital. it happened 5:30 in the roxborough neighborhood. police say suspect somehow gain entry to a home in the 7300 block of hill road and got away with the resident's vehicle. victim was taken to an area hospital to be check out for chest pain, so far, in one has been arrested. police are also searching for shooting suspect who prompted a standoff with officers today in north philadelphia. authorities say that around 8:30 this morning suspect shot a man in the leg on 15th and cambridge and then ran into a house on poplar street which business a block away. eyewitness said he didn't see where shooter went but he did try to help the victim. >> he was obviously in pain, screaming, trying to calm him down and before you know it, police were there, responding

quickly. >> at last check victim was hospitalized in stable condition. police searched the home where the suspect was believed to have run into but it was empty , authorities say they did recover a gun. a south jersey school district has implemented a new character building curriculum for its students. country singer, teams up with tony hawk to help inner city children and victims of harvey. kid moore stage his first ever music city state jam on sunday in nashville. it was part concert and skateboarding demonstration. it was set up to raise money for charity known as kid fund which built state parks for children and teens as does tony hawk foundation but after the recent event part of the money raised will also help victims of harvey. >> watching skating, growing up in the community, it is a different sense of brotherhood and skating, every walk of life, and, all taking care of each other and my thing was if i can create these, and give these kid a safe place to go. he gave a crowd of performance of hits and new songs, from his album, slow heart.

closer to 80 down toward millville, dover. seventy-three in philadelphia. but, it is very, very steamy. look at these dew points, dew point in millville is 74. dew point in philadelphia 71. 65-degree dew point in allentown. a dew point of 71 puts us right in the oppressive range, it is very humid outside, this is tropical air we're dealing with and it will stay very sticky through the rest of the week as well. so you can see moisture moving from the west. here's tomorrow morning just some cloud but then that center of circulation moves through, scattered showers perhaps thunderstorm tomorrow afternoon and evening. friday we will see it start to clear out, still cloud, still sprinkles but gets better and then we will start to dry things out on saturday. we are looking at least than half inch for most of the area so this isn't a huge deal as far as rainfall totals are concerned but just in the nice weather for next few days. terrible hair day as well. fog developing outside tonight , tomorrow mostly cloudy, warm, sticky at 82 degrees. scattered showers and

remembering a pioneer in the gay rights movement, philadelphia native edith windsor helped pave the way to legalize same sex marriage. windsor passed away yesterday in new york at the age of 88. >> gay rights activist graduated from temple university, cherri gregg from our sister station kyw news radio spoke with people who are personally grateful to windsor. >> reporter: born in philadelphia in 1929, edith windsor was a trailblazer. >> i am today an out lesbian, okay, who just sued the united states of america. >> reporter: a graduate of temple university she broke barriers in business at ibm but part of her life has defined her was love that transformed her into an activist. >> it was a great love a fair. that is all turf say about it. it was everything. >> proposed to her two years into their 44 year relationship. >> reporter: attorney angela

vittoria woodill joins us to show us more about the monument lab project. what is a monument, tori. >> reporter: yes, you know, i'm actually sitting on one of the projects, thinks called on the threshold and either salvage stoops from demolition projects in philadelphia, and they are here to inspire people to think about their stoop stories. that is what is so cool about this new program that mural arts is putting on because it is giving all of us an opportunity to talk about things that we have experienced in philadelphia and the history of philadelphia and guess what, they are giving you a chance to raise your own monuments with maybe anything you're thinking of. lets take a look. in the misty rain art was alive at city hall where a bright future for philly's art scene was unveiled by mural arts philadelphia it is called monument lab. >> monument lab, what is it? it is a public art, public
