[cheering and applause] >> now "inside edition" with deborah norville. >> deborah: hello, everybody. thank you for joining us. when comic legend jerry lewis died last month, he left behind an estate valued at $50 million. which makes this story so hard to grasp. this homeless woman living on the streets of philadelphia is jerry lewis' daughter. les trent has her story that you will see only here on "inside edition." >> behind every homeless person, there is a story. and in this woman's case, there is quite a story indeed. >> hey. how are you doing?

>> i found suzanne lewis, the daughter of late comic legend jerry lewis in a parking lot in philadelphia. she lives on the streets and carries her belongings around in shopping bags. >> what do you have in here, by the way. >> a little of everything. >> a little of everything. >> she spends most of her time at a local food court. it is cool in the summer, warm in the winter. >> does it get lonely out here? >> it can be. if you have to be in the street, you may as well have people around you so you don't feel isolated. i don't like feeling isolated. >> hi. >> when she scrapes together money, she buys a meal at a chinese restaurant. then it is back out on the street. >> people are going to ask, how did you end up here? how did you end up in the street? >> it's just something that happened. >> suzanne was born out of wed lock back in the 1950s. her mother, a beautiful model named lynn dixon had a three- year affair with jerry lewis. dna tests have established

there is an 88.7% certainty that suzanne is jerry lewis' daughter. >> you grew up believing that jerry lewis was your father. >> yeah. he would see me whenever he could. >> on suzanne's cell phone, there is a constant reminder of her heritage, this striking side by side image. >> wow. >> no photoshop whatsoever. >> there is a resemblance. >> you think. >> you have a cleft chin right there. >> and she does jerry's stick. >> hey, lady. >> he never acknowledged that suzanne was his daughter. >> how did you hear that he had passed? >> a friend had heard about it first. you know, we can't follow the news because we don't have a television. >> jerry lewis' estate is estimated at $50 million, yet his daughter uses public restrooms and public hotels and restaurants to wash up and bathe.

she gets around by bus and uses a laundromat to clean her clothes. >> the sun is going down now. >> yeah. >> what do you do to determine where to sleep? when suzanne falls, she heads to her storage locker. there she keeps her possessions, including the stuff she will need for the night. >> this is our cardboard house. >> david. >> together with her good friend, dave, suzanne heads out into the night. their bed is a metal bench, a mattress fashioned out of newspaper and cardboard. here they settle down for the night, hoping that tomorrow will be a better day. >> i just make the best of it and there's no point in being negative all the time because then you would be miserable. >> deborah: she gets by on social security disability checks she receives from an automobile accident she was in years ago. air travel may be pricey, but for those in the know, it can be the airline that shows up with big bucks. alexandria duval has the story

that a woman that struck a deal with delta. >> this mom is telling "inside edition" how she negotiated a jaw-dropping deal on an overbooked delta flight. >> it started out as a big auction on the plane. and i said to my husband, i said if they get to $4,000, i'm pressing the button. >> tracy smith was flying with her husband and 14-year-old son to the big game, the university of georgia versus notre dame last weekend. her delta flight from atlanta was overbooked with passionate football fans. and there was no way that they would give up they are seats and miss the game for any price. >> what happened to tracy should be a lesson to everyone who flies these days. under delta's new policy, she knew they would raise the offer to give up seats. she decided to hold out until the last moment. talk about the art of the deal. >> the number started at 5 hundred dollars. there were no takers right away. >> tracy flew she was in a good

negotiating position. ever since that notorious incident when a doctor was dragged off an overbooked flight, the airlines have altered policies. he covered the bidding live on social media like a football game with these rapid fire tweets. delta offering $2,200. they bumped offer to $2,800. now $3,000. now $4,000. >> were you holding your breath as that number climbed? >> i honestly did not think they would get to that number. i laughed. i was like there is no way they're going to get to $4,000 without anybody taking that. >> so how does tracy plan to use the $4,000 ticket voucher she received from delta. >> we are going to hawaii for sure. ♪[music] >> deborah: by the way, tracy did make it to the game in time and as a georgia grad, i would be remised in not informing you that the dogs beat the irish 20- 19. commuting is a challenge in the best of days. sometimes your fellow travelers

make it downright awful. lisa guerrero confronts passengers who are just rude. >> how would you like to be sitting on a train next to this passenger? or this guy? lots of people are getting fed up with rude behavior. i boarded the long island railroad in new york to see firsthand what kind of rude behavior passengers experience all too often. there were lots of seat hogs. this guy took up three seats watching videos like it was his living room couch. then there are the recliners. people who get really comfortable putting their filthy shoes on seats. >> guess what is the number one peeves that people have. >> the feet up on the chair. >> you just got busts. >> look at my daughter. >> is your daughter -- your daughter has her feet on the seat. does this run in the family? >> let's go yankees. >> then there are the passengers that can only be

forced to mary her accused abductor. and the wedding was actually caught on surveillance camera. sounds like a tv movie. but it is all very real for this woman who tells our victoria recano about her ordeal. >> look closely. police say you're watching a woman who has been kidnapped. she is at a wedding chapel and says she is being forced to mary her abductor. surveillance footage shows the pair casually stroll into the little neon chapel in las vegas. joseph chris christina on the cheek. he also puts his arm around her neck and holds her night. virginia says that is no gesture of love. it is an act of intimidation. in this exclusive interview with "inside edition," virginia tells me she feared that he might kill her. >> did you think you might die. >> i thought so, yeah. >> at one point she tries to leave the chapel but he blocks her and forces her back. >> the four-day nightmare began when she was leaving work at a

retirement home in santa barbara, california and a car deliberately cut her off. suddenly the driver jumped into her car. it was an acquaintance, joseph. he ordered her to drive to las vegas. she ended the relationship when he became obsessed with her. >> i kept asking him to stop. he was just horrible. >> after the wedding ceremony, hetzel allowed her to call her daughter jennifer, who knew immediately that something was very wrong. >> she called to tell me don't ever forget how much she loves us and tell the girls and everyone i love them. and i was like mom, why are you talking like that. >> virginia says her nightmare ended here at the railroad pass hotel and casino, miles from the las vegas strip. >> it was here that you knew this was your chance. >> this was my chance. because he let me come in. he gave me $100 to check into a room. this was my chance to get help. >> surveillance footage shows virginia checking into the

hotel after the wedding. hetzel sent her in alone because he didn't want to be caught on surveillance cameras in the hotel lobby. here is the moment that she asks the hotel clerk to help her. >> this is what is going on. i need you to act like you're checking me into a room, please. i've been abducted, taken against my will. >> very thankful that they helped me. >> surveillance cameras outside of the hotel show hetzel realizing that the cops have arrived. he flees. and what does he do? he takes the time to leave this ominous voice mail message with his daughter. >> this is joseph. i was chased by the cops and i've taken pills and by the time i will be dead. >> now virginia paris wants everyone to know that was no wedding at the chapel. that was an abduction. >> deborah: joseph hetzel faces kidnapping and carjacking

what could be the problem. from ground level this looks like an ordinary field of tall grass. from high above, brian created a controversial and pointed message directed towards his neighbor in the purple house. it's when "inside edition's" drone force 1 pulls out and you see the whole thing that the issue becomes clear. it is a word that we can't say or even show you on tv. he cut it into his field as a message to his neighbor. just so there is no confusion, there is also an arrow pointed right in the neighbor's direction. the big question is why? brian jewel says he did it after his wealthy neighbor built a house bigger than any other in the neighborhood that blocked his view in washington. on top of everything, the house was painted purple. >> i have to call it like it is. if a guy is being a [censor], you know, i'll call it. it seems to me that when you get to that level of just insane wealth, they think a privilege comes along with
