"eyewitness news" reporter trang do is live at penn presbyterian this morning, with more on this violent encounter. trang, what's the latest? >> reporter: jan, jim, these two women are recovering at penn presbyterian hospital, both in stable condition, talking to investigators. fortunately, though, a three year old inside the home at the time was not hurt. now, police are saying that this home was definitely targeted, but at this point, they're not sure why. but take a look at this video of the scene overnight. this shooting g happened just before 2:00 a.m. on the 5400

block of hatfield street, in kingsessing. police say 36 year old woman and her three year old daughter visit ago 40 year old friend who lives at the home, when they heard loud bang g on the door. one of the women went to look through the peep hole, someone started firing, 40 year old shot in the abdomen, 46 year old shot in the thigh. officers transported both women to penn presbyterian hospital. given the shear number of bullets that came through the door, it is a miracle that this three year old was not hurt. >> someone wanted to shoot into this house, shooting the occupant of the property. and the two adult females were struck, were really lucky, that number of shots enters the house, at least 12, that the three year old female that was in the house at the time, she was not struck by gunfire nor was she hurt in anyway. >> now the women told police that they saw a man wearing a mask, running away from the scene. investigators hope surveillance video found on that block will help identify this shooter. but for now, live outside penn

presbyterian hospital, trang do, cbs-3, "eyewitness news," jan, jim, back to you. >> trang, thank you very much. >> in other news, police searching for flasher who they say exposed himself to multiple women in new castle county. >> there have been four incidents, of the of them happening in downtown middletown. take a look at the surveillance photo of the suspect taken in the town's main street commercial district. residents say they've gotten alerts over the last few month , we have spoke with women who say the news have got them on edge. >> i'm shocked, to be honest, middletown's always been great family place, and very safe. i've got my two siblings that still live around here, and honestly very alarming. >> in the meantime, local shopkeepers say they're keeping an eye on the street for any suspicious activity, anyone with any information on this serial flasher is asked to call police. tempers flare at public

meeting in colwyn, borough delaware county as members of youth football team grow frustrated with the lack every lighting on their football field. "eyewitness news" was at the meeting last night attended by dozen every players and their parents. the team's coach says despite a lease to use the field the borough changed the locks on the fieldhouse, and locked the ability to access the lyft. the borough says the fields house had to be shutdown to repair a leak that occurred in january. meeting cut short after things got little heated. >> nothing to be said about it , we were shut out completely. >> adjourned the meeting? >> adjourned the meeting. >> it is not about locking them out. it is not about kicking them out. it is about having the building be safe for all who use and occupy it. >> by wednesday night the lights were on but after cbs-3 paid a visit. team members say it is unclear if the lights will stay on. they play their first home game this weekend. >> chaos inside of city hall as protesters crash philadelphia city council's first meeting after summer

recess. >> only "eyewitness news" cameras were rolling when sheriff's dispute wrist called it to make arrests there. they say threats were hurled at council members, protesters demanded council to address police involved shootings in their communities. >> this is not us asking you. this is us demanding that this lap, turn into a nice little meeting into an occupation. >> started getting out of control when people started talking about, you know, there is going to be a revelation. >> now, those arrest were charged with disorderly conduct. >> well the same group who held city hall protest also held a rally near the frank rizzo statue calling for its removal. critics want the statue gone, siting former police commissioner and mayor's relation on record on race relations, others want it to stay site being rizzo's history with the city. now officials are still excepting suggestions about the fate of the statue over on

the city's website. the deadline for submissions, how much, is today at 5:00 p.m. so far more than 3200 suggestions have been received >> well, temple university is investigating a couple of ugly incident reported on cam this week. someone allegedly left banana on the door handle after room in morgan hall that belongs to african-american student. then another banana was found by a room later in the week. the response to the incident temple's student government says it is organize cents g -- it is organizing a community get together. >> conservative event on campus there at berkley, crowds reportedly peaceful last night at the california university. they demonstrate the outside after hall where former breitbart bart news editor ben shapiro was speaking. several protests at berkley turned violent this year after clashes between opposing groups. >> president trump says he's working with both party to reach a decision on the deferred action for childhood

prosecutors did not present enough evidence against bostian to support criminal charges. local naacp leaders argue the justice system unfairly ruled the whitening near's case accident while black contractor was convicted when salvation army store collapsed back in 2013 skimming six people. >> campbell bell could have died in that collapse, yet was found with criminal charges against him, convicted and put in jail. this is a great injustice. it is justice working two different weighs in one city calling it one justice system. >> contractor griffin campbell is serving 15 to 30 year sentence. the naacp is trying trying to get him a new trial, equipment operator ben pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter. report show he had painkillers and marijuana in his system at the time.

benschop sentenced seven and a half to 15 years behind bars. >> more in margate that will end the legal battle over controversial do you know project. >> the city has dropped its lawsuit against the federal government, instead, it will receive multi-million dollar drainage system at no cost. the drains will run from the street under most of the beach and out into the ocean. some people in margate are still not happy about it, saying, the new pipes will pose safety hazards for beach-goers. >> well, time now is 4:44. >> taking a look at the forecast with katie, as we head into the weekends, katie being hoping for little more sun each and every day. >> looks to me like we will in fact brighten up. while we do have to watch for shower, as the weekends, head into the weekends for the most part, it does look like pretty quiet weather to enjoy outside looking right now at storm scan3, this wider zoom shows you things are pretty quiet for the moment. may again however throughout the day see shower around, if not run every thunder, but for the most part pretty good here today. and that will be the case into the weekend, too.

now, jose is still that factor , something we have to monitor closely. at this point, it is not a guarantee that this would have any kind of direct interaction with the eastern seaboard. but it is possible. and i think we've got to keep close watch on this into next week. now, this is still tropical stormment it is expected to actually re strengthen. currently max sustained winds speeds 70 miles per hour, pretty decent tropical storm, but pretty close to cat one status at this point, we do expect that this will in fact re strengthen as it recurs and heads north here in the coming days. so, let's take a look at the projected path right now, into the weekends it, will take very, very far path out to sea , always the at least away from the georgia carolina coastline, when it get little closer to us that this could still wobble and waffle little bit into the next couple every days. so the earliest we would have to deal with the issues with this monday night but specially tuesday and wednesday. so that's when we are looking at the time frame for the possibility of the indirect or possibly direct impact, maybe some outer bands from the storm.

yet, on shore here. but i think at minimum we have to deal with some strong surf. the way this pattern is unfolding, that is at least bare minimum, you know, effect that we will get from jose. spotty shower meantime today, but expected sunshine. feels like summer outside. high will hit 84 degrees, not bad, mid 80s continue through the weekends, might again see shower or spotty thunderstorm. but looking ahead to mid week again next week, showers, storms return to the forecast, that would be driven by jose, again, that track is still very much, yes, bit of question mark whether it comes to pinpointing it. we'll keep you posted, meisha. >> good to know, thank you so much. good morning, everybody. it is friday, so what are we looking at right now? overnight resurface project on the schuylkill, an area that we've been talking about basically all week long, have it again this morning, schuylkill east and westbound between the turnpike and blue route. showing you blue route taillights, congestion levels not an issue right now. hopefully we can keep it here until deeper into the 6:00 hour. see what happens. but right now things are
