meisha. >> good morning. here we are again, looking outside, and everything still dark, still very certainly, everything looking really good >> now, we have to keep an eye on the roads, little fog out there this morning, meisha, just giving us a heads up. i'm sure people will be dealing with that, of course, we have all of our eyes on hurricane jose, as well, with right now continuing to churn in the atlantic ocean 406 miles off the coast of north carolina, it is continuing its northward track we will be feeling the effect here along specially the jersey shore and down toward delaware as we go, it looks like, maybe through the nighttime hours tonight and then into our tuesday as well. computer models for the most part still keep jose off off the coastline, good news, unfortunately looks like it could kinds of just sit off our coast for maybe a day or two. so we're going to keep an eye on that for again tuesday and then possibly lingering all the way into wednesday. there is a visibility problem with some fog out there, and temperatures are warm and muggy, in the 60s, mostly 70s

>> no school today for thousands of students in montgomery county as their teachers walk off the job, and go on strike. >> "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh, live outside of methacton high school this morning, where class will not be in session today. good morning, anita. >> good morning, jim, jan. well, more than 400 teach remembers expected to go on strike here around 7:30 this morning, after contract negotiation discussions broke down yesterday. that's despite the school board's president saying that those discussions were close to productive. as i mentioned, you can see in the photo, contract discussions yesterday happened here, and it has been ongoing battle since jan. the union says it had 30 minutes to consider the board 's final proposal yesterday. it is mostly concerned about rising healthcare premiums, while salaries for teachers remain the same. but on the other hand, some of the key funding issues that the school district is face something a steady decline in student enrollment, increased retirement costs and the need

to imette st. guillen proof its aging school buildings, the negotiating committee filled request for fact finding, pennsylvania labor relations board, if that board approves the request it, would appoint a fact finder tomorrow that means, between then and november 19th teachers would not be able to walk off the job. now, the strike affect about 5,000 student and their families here in the school district, however, piaa sports will go on as scheduled, also childcare happening at the sky view elementary school which requires on line registration, the teach remembers expected to walk off here at 7:30, we expect to hear more updates from the school district around 9:00. of course we'll bring you those updates just as soon as we get them. for now live in eagleville, anita oh. >> and eat, a we'll check back with you in about 30 minutes. >> police are asking for the public's help in finding a couple that attack and robbed a 87 year old woman inside of her home. happened on 3,000 block of

south 20th street around 9:00 yesterday morning. police say the suspect knocked on the victim's door asking for directions, but when she opened the door the couple forced their way inside of her home. we spoke with the victim's daughter who describes scribed the terrifying scene. >> they were kicking her, covering her mouth with their hands, telling her not to scream, putting a gun to her neck, telling her they were going to kill her if she didn't stop screaming. so the female stayed in the basement with her while the male went up into the bedrooms and ransacked a couple of rooms. and stole some jewelry. >> the thieves ran away after stealing several pieces of the victim's jewelry, including her wedding ring. >> police are looking for a man who they say reportedly tried to lure two children into a car in bucks county. lower southampton township officers responded yesterday to park lane in feasterville. a mother reported that a man approached her nine year old daughter and her eight year old friend asking if they want add ride. the girls said no and walked away. now on friday, philadelphia

police announced they were investigating six separate rat attempted lurings involving children. that will activity took place within the same six, seven blocks in northeast philadelphia. cabrini university in radnor is responding after an incident of racism on campus. police say student reported that someone wrote a racial slur on a residence hall door. the university released a statement late last night saying cabrini does not tolerate any form of hate or racist language, and our priority remains to ensure our students feel safe and supported. >> president trump is the new york city for the annual meeting of the united nations general assembly. >> this will be the first un assembly of his presidency high on agenda is north korea and its nuclear weapons program. the president also expected to take a shot at the un itself. you may recall that during last year's campaign the president regularly denounced the organization. the white house says things have changed. >> now we can say it is a new day at the un.

eyes on jose, about 500 miles off the coast of cape hatteras , of course maria out there getting ready to move into the lesser antilles, hurricane and tropical storm force warnings are in effect for those areas which again just got hammered by irma. let's talk a little bit more about jose. still category one storm. it will travel up the eastern seaboard, but stay off the coastline, which is some good news for us it, will start to affect maybe south delaware, down into south jersey as we get as early as this evening, maybe 7:00, 8:00 tonight. starting to see some of the effect across the delmarva, south delaware, then into tuesday, that's when we will feel the effect across south new jersey then maybe even here in philly as well. what are we talking about when talking about the impacts here across the beaches that we usually go to? well, talking about rough surf , already seen that, strong rip currents, already seen that. and we will get some on shore flow with the northwesterly wind, northeasterly wind, and get some possible beach errosion, coastal flooding

could be a problem as well, areas that usually flood, have high chance to, and some rain showers will be possible as we get little further inland. overall, it looks like here is our tropical storm watch, gusty winds, could be as high as maybe 50, 06 miles an hour at times, and that goes into effect tomorrow. for today, we get up to high temperature of 08 degrees, little morning fog, some sunshine this afternoon, meisha, we do have the rain showers tomorrow. associated with jose. then we start out fall friday with a high of 80. >> well, that's some good news , the drive tomorrow might be well it will be impacted, i should say, good morning, happy monday. so looking out here to the resurface project on the schuylkill eastbound between the turnpike and the blue route. getting used to there is guys, looks like might be picking up the cones now, so they must be backing up, cleaning them out. heads up though. look how many vehicles are already out there, not even in the 5:00 hour, letting you know that the schuylkill today is going to be busy. the vine, it will be closed overnight tonight, throughout the week, so just heads up on

underway, at georgia tech, after an officer involved shoot that left a student dead there. officers say the student charged aim them with a knife outside a campus dorm dorm. police release this surveillance video of the incident, all happened about 11:00 saturday night. officers say they ordered 21 year old scott shultz to drop the knife, but shultz refused, that's when an officer opened fire, hitting shut. now, shultz, was an active member in the school's pride alliance at the hospital. >> well, there is a big change in the publishing industry to tell but this morning,. >> yes, big man seen -- magazine going up for sale. details in in this morning's money w

"eyewitness news" spoke with one of the group's working on the home after victim of contract fraud. >> these people could be my grandparent. so you know, it is a small world, and it feels really good to see the people, impact the people that you are helping, rather than just stroking a check, good to meet the homeowners, and but for our help, you know, their houses would still be in disrepair.
