anita? >> reporter: good morning, jim , jan, more than 400 teachers will be going on strike at 7:30 this morning, despite the school board president calling discussions between the union and the school board pro tuck tiff. now those contract negotiations had been ongoing since jan but with no luck in reaching a deal. the union says that it had 30 minute to consider the board's final proposal yesterday, it is mostly concerned about how much teachers would have to pay for healthcare premiums. but, on other side of this debate, some of the key funding issues the school district says it is facing, steady decline in student enrollment, increased retirement cost, need to improve the aging school building. it affect about 5,000 student and their families. however, sports scheduled for this afternoon are going to continue as planned. and if you need childcare, sky screw elementary is having that, but it requires on line pre registration.

agenda. good morning, nicky. >> good morning, jim, jan. the world will certainly be watching this morning, as president trump makes first visit to the un. as a presidential candidate, he called the un incompetent, but since becoming president, he has changed his tone, now says it, has potential. >> president trump arrives at the united nations today for the opening of the general assembly, with north korea expected to be issue number one, administration officials took to the sunday morning talk show. warning us stations is running thin. >> we have pretty much exhausted all of the things that we could do at the security council at this point now i'm perfectly happy kick this over to general mathis. >> white house says among the meetings the president has this week in new york one with the south korean president which will focus on how to maximize economic and diplomatic pressure on north korea. all eyes will be on mr. trump tomorrow, when he delivers speech here to delegates. expected to address iran,

syria, global terrorism, all while promoting an america first agenda. the president is also expected to go after the un itself, pushing for reforms that include more transparency and accountability. >> i think he does believe the united nations can be a very important instrument of addressing these threat to the worlds. but i think he also takes to the view that the united nations has fallen short, and he wants to motivate them in that regard. >> tillerson also hinted at the possibility of sticking with the paris climate agreement, saying the president remains, quote, open to finding those conditions where we can remain engaged. us ambassador to the un nicky haley said in a white house press briefing friday it is a new day here at the united nations. jim, jan? >> thank you so much, appreciate that. >> the university of delaware is hosting a student rally supporting the daca program, at 3:00 this afternoon, president trump plans to end the program in six months, which has led to protests all

hit as category five hurricane >> now the north part of the islands is french, while the south is administered by the netherlands. no section of the island was spared. houses were destroyed, and many areas after winds of more than 200 miles per hour tore through. >> meanwhile, florida governor rick scott continues surveying the damage in his state. yesterday he toured ever glade city in southwest florida, people left their belongings pile up high outside of their homes, the governor said, he plans to return things to normal as soon as possible. and, people are now being allowed back into the lower florida keys, officials are warning people making their return, though, that conditions are very tough there. electricity and sewer services are not reliable, and water is not safe to drink. fema estimate that a quarter of all of the homes there in the keys were destroyed. >> i don't know how you start over from all of that. right now three storms in the atlantic. jose is expected to have impact on our weather. is that correct, (natural sounds) >> jim, that's right. we have three storms out there right now, jose

is the one that's closest to the continental united state. that's the storm that is going to be giving us some issues as we go as maybe early as tonight , into tuesday, and possibly even early in the day wednesday. and then of course maria, tropical depression lee, are still out in the open water, marie could affect areas like saint martin, areas like puerto rico as early as the next couple every days, so of course folks down there haven't even began the clean up process yet, they have to stop as another powerful storm starts to barrel towards them. talk little bit more about jose. that's going to be affecting us in the next couple every days, still category one storm, sustained winds 58 miles per hour, watch the track as it goes northward. as it does, that means we could be looking at some gusty winds , some strong winds, and then also the possibility of maybe little beach errosion too. there is tropical storm watch from the delaware bay, all the way through the new jersey coastline, up into new england that goes into effect tonight, at 2:00 a.m. it lasts until 2:00 a.m.

wednesday morning. so pretty much all of the day tuesday, then into little bit of wednesday as well. in general the impacts for us here, it will go with rough surround every, strong rip currents, seen that down at the shore points the last couple every days, minor beach errosion possibility thanks to on shore flow. we will get possibility of also coastal flooding. could lead to some issues with beach errosion, too. those two kind of go together. then work your way little further inland, little closer to philly, and then maybe little further west than that, just some rain showers, and isolated rumble every thunder can't be completely ruled out. in general it looks like it will be some rain showers. again there are threats for some moderate risk for that heavy rain to go along with what we will be seeing with the tropical impact. taking a look at the seven day forecast real quick, zero eight today, 77 tomorrow with the showers, then meisha we do warm it up, as we get into the ends of the week, there, more 80s, humid, too. >> all right, thanks so much, matt. very good morning to all of you. happy monday. so we are looking outside right now at the

schuylkill. so the schuylkill has been kind of a problem child all morning long , starting in the 4:00 hour, levels heating up. overnight resurface project. now accident here the schuylkill or excuse me 95 north at route 322, we will talk about the schuylkill coming up in just said, but where we saw police activity, now it is an accident. two left lanes are compromise in the this area ninety-five another problem child, it has been very busy all morning long shall pushing in the southbound direction, 95 north at route 322, so push in the for the bound direction, if you are headed out your home any time soon, if i were you, i would give yourself extra time there now it is the schuylkill at belmont. problem child. busy. very, very busy. if i were you i would start to give yourself extra time. you are no longer traveling at posted speeds , headlights moving in the eastbound direction there. boulevard, another area that's very, very busy this morning, push in the southbound direction, heading towards the schuylkill at city avenue westbound. we looked at that, too. looking just us a busy. basically overall right now give yourself some extra time. jan, jim, back to you.

>> meisha, thank you. it was a match up with two of the most talented teams in the nfl but the birds fell just short. >> pat gallen here to tell us what went wrong with the eagles and their loves to the chiefs. >> you never want to lose a game but this is one of the games you can understands why they certainly did. the eagles did some things well sunday, carson wentz, mostly good, defensive line again made it tough for the opposing quarterback this time alex smith. but, the mistakes, lack every run game did them in. let us start with those mistakes, aaron sproles rarely makes them. his fumble on punt return, but the three-point for kansas city late in the second quarter kicking in the n fl definitely a problem. jake elliot just signed to the team after a caleb sturgis injury, from 30 out. chip shot. real dagger here went throws fourth quarter interceptionment changed the momentum of the game. the eagles need to clean these up before the giants come to town next week. now aside from the mistakes the eagles seem to run out of gas in the fourth

quarter. kareem hunt, the chiefs super rookie gouged them, for two touchdowns in the second half, including this one, 53 yarder. and travis kelsey, jason's little brother, also a handful. he finished with eight catches for 103 yards. and that touchdown right there, hard to fault the defense, they played relatively strong, throughout. making it tough on alex smith to get comfortable. now, before he looked spent in the fourth quarter, carson wentz is pretty good. pretty much the entire eagles offense. went 25 of 36 for 333 yards and two scores, connected when alshon jeffrey for 92 yards, so wentz obviously a breitbart spot on offense. but what's not a breitbart spot. the running game it has gone completely mia. eagles called just 13 runs which wentz dropping back 60 times. but garrett blunt, zero. zero carries. he spoke about his role after the loss. >> are you confident in your role moving forward, to go

the teachers union bargained for more than six hours in a last minute effort to reach an agreement. negotiations ongoing since january, hope to learn more about the strike at press conference scheduled for 9:00 a.m. >> well, a terrifying attack to tell but, couple of thieves target 87 year old woman inside of her south philadelphia home. this happened on the 3,000 block of south 20th street, around 9:00 yesterday morning. now, police say the suspect knocked on the victim's door pretends to go ask a question. well, when she opened the door , the couple forced their way inside. the victims daughter told " eyewitness news" her mom is okay. but shaken up. >> they were kicking her, covering her mouth with their hands, put a gun to her neck, telling her they would kill her if she didn't stop screaming so the female stayed in the basement with her while the male went up into the bedrooms, ran sacked couple of rooms, stole some jewelry.
