will stay far off shore but not far enough for our area to avoid its i am pack. lets look at where that storm is, we will go out to another look on storm scan three you can see swirl of cloud basically off the coast of the out are banks, two or 300 miles off shore. bands of showers rotating around that, not making it toward the coast just yet but storm will move in a bit before heading back out to sea and that will bring us wet weather. lets take a look at our tropical storm watch blanket ing the entire coast of new jersey and delaware as well as adjacent coastal waters, portions of the delaware bay and coastal blood advisory this will get right through wednesday, tropical storm watch does mean wind, may be a problem, down the shore, as well as, some more, coastal impacts which lauren will discuss in a moment. here's latest stats from the national hurricane certainty. currently still a category one hurricane, weaken slightly from last night back to 75 miles per hour sustain wind on this, storm and central pressure of 977 millibars. it will make a turn, and then

lurk out to sea but latest track keeps it far enough off shore, that we don't expect any direct, impact from this system later this week here in philadelphia impact will be starting tonight, and then through the day tomorrow, especially, and mostly felt along our coastline. and that is where they are making preparations, this afternoon, and evening, for a brush, from an intense hurricane working its way up eastern see game. meteorologist lauren casey joins us from north wildwood with the very latest on then part of the story, lauren. >> thanks, so much kate. yeah, definitely night the best beach day, cloudy, quite breezy, winds have pick up in the last couple of hours since we got here but most notable are the waves. they are ferocious and rough surf will be a main impact we will see down the shore as hurricane jose sits off shore, and crashing waves, of course will present the threat have beach erosion that could be locally significant, and that is why crew where is out earlier in the day in north wildwood, building up the sand

dunes to combat any erosion that could occur over about the next 36 hours, and, but despite the angry ocean, and it is quite angry, shore goers , we ran into today weren't too upset with the rough conditions. >> little windy, a lot of cloud, and damp. >> we will just hang here. >> hang here and watch the ocean a little bit, get some dinner and head back home. >> it is really rough, wind picking up, you can see how rough the ocean is getting. i just hope we don't get beach erosion. like to look at beach. it is relaxing even on a crazy day like this. >> reporter: the height of the impact will come tonight and through the day tomorrow, we will see rain bands moving on shore, and throughout this time frame so we could see possibly an inch of rainfall, possibly through our shore points through late tomorrow night. winds are already whipping up, i'm hoping not to lose my hat during this live shot. could see win gusts up to 45

maybe locally 50 miles an hour , and that high risk will come late day tomorrow, tomorrow evening. we have potential for some minor to maryland rate coastal flooding. particularly around high tide, time this evening, and then again, tomorrow evening, that will be around 7:00 p.m. at most of the shore points. as we talk about we have potential for some beach erosion that could be significant, wave heights, not too far off shore, up to about 15 feet possible, and then that possibility of dangerous rip currents, and we will not see anybody going anywhere near that water and that is certainly good news, so far the season we have had 10 deaths, just in new jersey, in the surf zone because of rough surf and dangerous rip currents but everyone is being safe, so far with jose off shore, watching mother nature from the safety of the sea wall, and they are enjoying mother nature, watching her, even though guys, she's in a pretty bad mood right now. >> lauren casey, thanks very much for the update.

strike in the methacton school district. weekend contract negotiations between teachers union and school board broke down, when both side, reached an impasse, over health care premiums. our joe holden joins us now in eagleville montgomery county tonight with the very latest, joe, good evening. >> reporter: ukee, good evening. teachers have taken a break from the picket line, i'm told , they will be back. now in the last hour or so i have talked to leadership on both side of this impasse, both have indicated that they are really is no meeting set for negotiations and right now , for tuesday, classes once again cans eld in the methacton school district out side methacton high school looks are deceiving. buses are still rolling, is there the info on back to school night and school zone sign is still blink bug now only possible reason for 15 miles an hour, the several dozen educators meandering about the roadway. >> we're ready to bargain at anytime. we want a fair settlement. >> reporter: on camera

>> kate joins us with the forecast and we are looking at a triple threat in the tropics >> triple threat. lee should not be a threat, but maria and jose posing a threat. maria is a category four and moving over same island completely decimate by irma. we're talk u.s. virgin island, puerto rico, british virgin. island. let's start locally. jose will pass far enough off shore that the biggest threat from jose include beach erosion, rough surf, rip currents and minor coastal flooding but the impacts inland, looking to be quite minimal just cloud and breezy conditions. lets look at what is going on right now in our area we will start off in cape may. thinks one area that could see threat for beach erosion because of the water piling up on the sand, buying up along the coast thanks to the persistent on shore flow as jose works its way up eastern seaboard. you can see low cloud bands moving over our shore points and even as we look at storm scan three you can see cloud band lurking off the coast,

showers have not made it in just yet, tomorrow we will be most active as far as rainfall is concern but these thick cloud will move even into philadelphia. so tomorrow it depend where you are, up in the poconos, lehigh valley, you may in the see much of anything. maybe a stray shower. scattered showers in the city. more persistent rainfall at the coast. you can see lauren was talking about the crashing waves, and wave action looking very, very rough right now in margate. this is peak to go day and tomorrow, and then will gradually improve but with jose slowly weakening and spinning in the opened atlantic we do expect are your surf and rip currents to continue right through end of the week and into the weekend. as far as city is concern we are looking at mostly cloudy sky, stray shower, 66 is our overnight low. tomorrow, cloudy, cool, and maybe a few breaks have blue sky with jose about 250, 300 miles off shore, could be a few breaks have blue skies, showers around, not a great day but certainly worth down the shore. lets look at that future

weather picture. with the system off shore it will spin some bands of rain back. thinks 6:00 o'clock tomorrow morning raining down the shore , steady rain still to the south but it looks like heavier rainfall will come through mid to late morning, down the shore and continue right through the afternoon, greatest impacts being felt during daylight hours tomorrow and into tomorrow evening but notice very, very limited as far as how much makes it inland to impact city and north and western suburbs. by tomorrow night that moves out and by wednesday morning we are seeing some sun, peak through the cloud. as far as winds are current tropical storm force winds expect to stay just off shore, red shading, red, pink shading , but we could see wins gust to 30 miles an hour and even inland winds could gust to 25 or 30 miles an hour at times. hurricane jose again will hang out, you can see just spin and it will eventually fizzle, does not look like it will come back and impact us, but we have to keep an eye on marie a position of the remnants of jose could determine path of maria but

the city where it took a while , it was a gray first half of the day but sunnies shining, beautiful day, barely any winds. hard to believe we have a hurricane moving up the coast but jose expected to stay far enough off shore that impacts inland will be quite minimal just kind of a lousy day tomorrow in the city with cloud and a couple of showers. here is jose by the way still category one sustain wind of 75 miles an hour, this will stay off shore, center of the low moving due north and then curving out to sea, portions of southern new england are still under a tropical storm warning at this hour. these are area that could see more impact from jose but our coastline again will pick up gusty wins, beach erosion and coastal flooding but those are most pronounced impact for our area storm scan three showing cloud bands making their way on shore. tropical storm watch is pink that has been cancelled for our coastal communities but has been replace by coastal flood advisory the green you

see there all along new jersey coast, delaware coastline and mouth of the delaware bay. it goes into effect overnight and continues until wednesday, at 1:00 a.m. coastal flooding will be most pronounced likely tomorrow evening when that piling up of the water of the coast will reach its peak. maryland rate coastal flooding is expect in that time frame. lets time out showers, associated with jose, should be relatively quiet for rest of tonight. few scattered sprinkles, but tomorrow mid morning that those heavier bands of rain affect coastline. they don't move inland. you may see sun in the lehigh valley while pouring down the shore and it continues right through the noon hour heavy rain from new york city right down through the delaware coast. not much north and west, 3:00 p.m. still seeing rain along the coast, few showers rotate tomorrow evening but here in philadelphia we are not talking heavy rain but scattered showers and by wednesday at 3:00 the sun's out across most of the area even the shore points as jose moves away. kind of dodging a bull wet this system.

down the shore there will be coastal impact but for most inland we will in the see too much in the way of negative impact is here. future wind gusts they will pick up overnight but midday tomorrow winds could gust, ocean city maryland over 30 miles an hour, 25 miles an hour in atlantic city and wildwood. notice lack of the tropical storm force winds gusting to 30 to 35 miles an hour as that system stays just a little bit further off coast and peak of the winds will be late tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow evening. so your coastal impacts again no longer a tropical storm watch. it is a coastal flood advisory maryland rate coastal flooding is possible, beach erosion as well, that could be one of the biggest concerns here, gusty winds and period of steady rain on and off throughout the course of the day tomorrow. greatest impact tomorrow midday, through the afternoon and evening and then it does clear out on wednesday but here is almost a larger concern. for the lesser antilles areas still recovering, still in christ fridays hurricane irma. maria is now a category four hurricane and eye has cleared
