at me. he just walked calmly toward his car, got in and drove away. >> mary johnston lives on long meadow road in limerick township. she was brought to her front lawn after hearing gunshot >> i heard shots. and screaming. >> reporter: the commotion was coming from a home across the street. >> i thought it was just kids playing around and i realized it sounded more serious. >> reporter: when she came outside, she found herself face-to-face with the man she now believes shot her neighbor. >> i went down the yard to investigate, and saw the suspect leaving the house. >> reporter: police say around 12:30 p.m., 30-year-old greg feldman of hallwaysville approached the home and knocked. shooting 48-year-old woman twice in her chest when she opened the door. from the home, suspect fled. >> we believe mr. feldman to be arm at this point. >> reporter: according to montgomery county district attorney kevin steele, feldman was known to the woman and her family. >> we know that there was a

hurricane center which keeps maria as a strong category 3 hurricane, a major hurricane at this hour, you can see the eye starting to redevelop. you couldn't see it there in a few of these frames but we're starting to see it becoming more defined as it moves into the north and warmer waters. and less winds and not as much interaction with land, luckily it's moving away from the bahamas certainly florida. hispaniola, the northern coast of the dominican republic was impacted and the storm really took the path of destruction, category 5 right across puerto rico moving to the north and continuing to be strong as a category 3 winds 125 miles an hour, the moving to the north, northwest just barely to the west at about nine miles per hour, central pressure 954 millibars, here's the latest track goes due north and stays category 3 into the first part of the weekend or early next week, then moves to the north and it's going to eventually move into cooler waters less cool thanks to jose.

what happens when a storm churns up the waters? causes up well brings colder water to surface, as maria runs into some of that colder water it will weaken and notice the latest track features the turn away from the eastern coast line of the united states. keep in mind this line is the track potential track of the eye. so it's still not out of the question that it does take a closer track they don't land as of now looks unlikely but this isn't until next week. we'll keep you posted. speaking of jose remnants churning up the ocean, a high risk for rip currents now through tonight and into tomorrow morning and jose's impacts or at least the remnants over the weekend down the shore, winds ten went to miles an hour, a light breeze out of the north, surf four to six feet. the waves are big. dangerous rip currents and even minor coastal flooding could ker at high tide cycles. you don't want to swim on the unguarded beaches.

more than that coming up. life guards will be busy at the shore due to the rip currents kate talked about. in north wildwood the season is for the guards but officials are bringing them back this weekend because tense of thousands of people will be in town for the irish festival. officials anticipate many of them will take a dip in the rough surf, five beaches between 7th and 22'nd will be guarded and officials strongly recommend swimming only at guarded beaches. a philadelphia man is facing sexual assault charges for an incident at a recreation center. this is the suspect. 32-year-old ronald coldman of sergeant street. on wednesday, he sexual assaulted an 18-year-old man with special needs inside the rec center in the 7900 block of south broad street. the department of parks and recreation tells "eyewitness news" that coldman was a seasonal employee. 35-year-old mar wynn deeb is facing seven counts of luring a child no a motor vehicle and corruption of minors, arrested

heats up during the day and takes longer for it to cool down, you can see the surrounding areas are already in the 60's, philadelphia hanging on to 74 because we retain so much more heat in the city. as we widen out, you can see where the real core of the heat is 85 in minneapolis, 81 in chicago, 82 that st. louis, these areas were sweltering in the 90's and that's that same ridge of high pressure that's going to be dominating our pattern through the weekend. so we say good-bye to jose a remnant low now that happened last night at this time continues to move away. here's tomorrow afternoon full sunshine under high pressure as height starts to move east and jose continues to weaken on sunday, we get return flow from south going to ramp up the heat and humidity and we may even approach records. so saturday's record tomorrow, sunset stone, 97 from the 1895 we're not touching that one. sunday, set in 1970, we're within five degrees, but monday is our closest run to a record. 92 set back in 1970. there is the chance we can get close to that.
