same song every morning. good news, commute is dry for you. >> hopefully staying that way for the most part. may and stray sprinkle, for the most part looks pretty quiet. still warm but not as warm as the last couple of days. warmer zoom on storm scan, part of the reason see the moisture build is the approach of marie. that will is still not expected to be any direct threat to our coastline. but it is going to certainly kick up the surf in the days ahead. talk more about that as the show progresses, still category one storm, but it is still also expected to make sharp right-hand turn and head back out to sea. notice in the last few hours, little bit of clouds come, gone, for the most part, do still have pretty clear sky. also, still quite mild. currently mid or upper 60s across most of the region as a whole, mount pocono, coolest spot of the pack this time around, which hasn't been lately, actually been cooler at the shore, for example. but, we are expecting to rebounds nicely, and easily, across most of the board. certainly going to see few more clouds today. that will limit some of the

next ten minutes, rahel, over to you. >> meisha, thank you. following breaking news, this morning, police on the scene every deadly triple shooting in north philadelphia. officers found three men with gunshot wounds to the 600 block of perth place, one later died at the hospital. told 58 year old plan was shot multiple times, right now he's in stable condition. the 26 year old was shot in the hip. he's in critical condition at this point police have made no arrests. >> new information this morning, on the man wanted for shooting his exgirlfriends' mother inside her montgomery county home. >> we know the suspect has been found dead. "eyewitness news" reporter trang do, live in limerick township with with a we know so far. good morning, trang. >> good morning, jim, a hell. the chester county district attorney's offers confirms, that gregory solomon was found dead of self-inflicted gunshot wounds, last night, now, police had been looking for him, since friday, in connection with the shooting of his exgirlfriends' mother. but take a look at video from the scene overnight. now, feldman's body found inside his car at a wawa in

schuylkill township late monday. investigators and the coroner 's offers spent the night gathering evidence for the car towed away from the scene. now this all started just after 12:15 friday afternoon, when limerick township police responded to home on long meadow road. there they found 48 year old amy herman suffering from gunshot wounds to her chest and neck. identified feldman, her daughter's 30 year old boyfriend as the shooter. police launched manhunt offering up $1,000 reward for his whereabouts, until feldman 's body was found monday night, just 15 minutes from the herman's home. now, amy herman is recovering and is expected to be okay. but as you guys can imagine, just very scary past few days until this gruesome discovery. but for now, live from the limerick township police department, i'm trang do, cbs-3, "eyewitness news," jim, rahel, back to you. >> thank you, trang. in other news, controversy surrounding the national anthem takes center stage, this time in prime time on monday night football.

never forget our loved ones, and we are here to support each other. >> now, those in attendance spoke, sang, danced in memory of the murder victims, the national day of remembrance also honors organizations that help out families who are impacted throughout the country. >> well the man accused of punching a disable man in the face in west chester is facing several years hine bars. barry baker was caught on camera mocking and then sucker punching michael ryan outside of 7-eleven store. baker pleaded guilty yesterday , just before his trial, was set to begin. ryan told "eyewitness news" outside of the court, that he's getting on with his life. >> my life has been the same as it was before that time. obviously appalled, thank god he wasn't terribly hurt. >> baker sentencing won't come until later this fall. he is facing up to five years behind bars. >> prosecutors searching for the cause after fire in the northern liberties section every philadelphia. fire broke out about 9:30 last night, the 500 block every west girard avenue.

it appears the fire was contained to the upper floors of the building. it took crews about 30 minutes to control the flames. there were no injuries. the widow of the pennsylvania state trooper killed in the line of duty is now suing his to, shot and killed, at pocono state police barracks in 2014. eric frein led police on 48 day manhunt before finally arrested. tiffany dixon, trooper err's wife, said the killer's was acting on the dislike from his parent. frein sentenced to death. >> testimony in the corruption trial of new jersey senator bob menendez claims to link the senator and his co-defendants, threats against the government official. menendez denies charges that he accepted bribes from florida eye doctor solomon mel jean. commerce department testified though that attorney for mel gin asked him to intervene in a in a business dispute in the dominican republic, attorney acted in a threatening manor and bowls

dollars of a position. >> updating today on investigation into the mayor's fund for philadelphia. the investigation is already to reveal more than $200,000 in questionable spending. that report claimed former board chair, desiree bell charged the fund for shoes, travel, hotel rooms, a party for then mayor michael nutter and more than 400 uber rides. the funds is changing it board structure and has already discontinued the use of credit cards. >> the race for philadelphia district attorney is heating up. today's republican candidate set roseman and democrat larry krasner will appear at community for numb center city , opportunity for the public to learn more about the candidates and their positions grossman and krasner are vying for the seat left vacant by seth williams. he resigned earlier this year after pleading guilty to bribery charge, the polls will open on november 7th. >> well hundreds of people are sleeping away from home, thanks to brush fire in california. >> it has already destroyed

to reports of a suspicious vehicle with two men inside. they approached the car, police say, they were immediately met with gunfire, one officer hit one time in the jaw. >> at least one of the males produced a handgun, and fired several shots at the officer, striking one of our officers. the officer's returned fire, several shots were fired, one of the suspect was hit. >> both of the suspect are in police custody this morning, no words yet on any charges, the officer is littles in the serious but stable condition. well, time now, 4:44. >> another check of the forecast, i don't know if this is completely true, katie, but at loosely walked outside this morning it, even felt cooler than it has the last couple every days. >> i think just because it wasn't sunny outside. >> i was going to say? >> to me, mild. definitely still mild, but at the onset, but if you have outdoor plans, not a fan of the real excessive heat, you know, now is the time to get those outdoor plans in. nice long dog walk, nice long

jog before the sun comes up, wear the reflective gear. meanwhile, how did we do yesterday? ended up over achieving, 91 was the eventual high. the record to beat was 92, we still just came close, didn't quite get there. but remembering that the normal high is only 75, it was really, really hot outside for what's average. meanwhile, we take you out to storm scan, very wide zoom, a lot going on here, and i think your eye just gets immediately drawn to two main things, maria still category one hurricane, then also this tropics starting to cross the usa. this is what is going to do. two separate things for us. really changes our patterns in the days ahead, also will held maria get swept out to sea. that will make sharp right hands turn. sustained winds 75 miles per hour so barely category one hurricane. it will eventually lose some of it steam. and get downgraded to tropical storm. but that's also when it makes the right hand turn. and it should even bypass atlantic canada. good news there. as for us, indirect impacts

remain, strong surf, rip currents, possibility of coastal flooding, minor beach errosion, all of the things that tends to happen with a storm like this nearby, likely to happen this time around. that ex stands past our coastline up through new england. meanwhile, see more clouds here today. but looks like pretty nice day just still about 10 degrees above average. and humid, as well, so it doesn't really feel like fall. tonight, there may even be patchy fog that develops, if not this morning, but looking forward we do finally see the change in the pattern take place as early as thursday, but specially friday. and the weekends. barely hit 70 saturday, meisha >> i was just looking at that, katie, thank you so much for all of that information. very good morning to all of you, happy tuesday. yep. on the 4:00 hour, already we are getting busy. but it is because of construction, not congestion levels obviously, construction here, hopefully clearing out of the way right now, schuylkill westbound at 30th street. closed, talking about this yesterday. this is overnight construction , it does look like crews are moving out of the way, opening that up for you. the ultimate was 95 or the

vine, actually looking at back up shot, and it was getting pretty busy bumper to bumper there. so looks like clearing out there. overnight resurface project schuylkill east and westbound between turnpike and blue route. this is closer to the turnpike , you can see, crews are out there. and you can also see how slow moving it is, cones in the load way. so just heads up on this. this area of the schuylkill, again, east and westbound, between the turnpike and blue route, looking very, very slow and the vine, it is open. it was not closed overnight for the construction, looking good there. boulevard northbound between red lion road, southampton road, construction, out err lanes are slow. back over to you, jim? >> thank you shall meisha. almost a week after hurricane maria's landfall, people in puerto rico are still struggling without power, unable to communicate, and they're now dealing with a dwindling food supply. >> the progress emergency officials are making as the island continues to struggle to recover and how a woman who just moved to philadelphia from san juan is helping with relief efforts. when we come back.

>> the latest on the devestation left by hurricane maria. >> agencies ramp up relief efforts to deal with the crisis in puerto rico. maria made landfall wednesday as category four hurricane. many of the more than 3.4 million people on the islands still don't have enough food, water or fuel. the governor of puerto rico is calling for more help as millions on the island continue to be without power. >> the major distribution lines have been destroyed. different from irma, justice played, they've been destroyed >> this will take some time for us to recover, but at least in the priority list that we were lucky that the main medical center, the big hospital, is going to be energized and the area. >> officials and citizens are calling the devestation, quote , apocalyptic. >> here at home, people having trouble getting in touch with family and friends in for the reijo are being set to up help maria just moved to center city from san juan, now gathering supplies to send to

morning, at least in the city for the moment. things are a-okay in that regard. we'll keep you posted. but right now, still looking pretty good. let's talk a little more in detail about the indirect impact that maria will bring to us. there is no direct threat to our shore line. across north carolina, how much, they'll bear the brunt from the storm, at least along the mainland of the usa. but for us, it is a strong rip countries being. it is the choppy surf, possibility of minor coastal errosion, and flooding. that will take place here. that lasts us for the next couple every days, meantime, kids are back to school, back to work today, and we give it a grade, a-minus, definately warmer than average. but, even despite the humidity , it is not as hot as yesterday. and, you know, walking out the door generally speaking without the need after jacket. so that the at least good, one less accessary to forget in the locker. so looking forward by the time we hit thursday, trough dig ging in sending maria packing and also really scaling back the humidity and temperatures here.
