rico in crisis. how one local group is responding on the ground, helping those most affected by hurricane maria. a murder mystery tonight a search for clues after a house sitter is found dead inside a south jersey home. we begin with breaking news. gunfire erupts on a philadelphia street. a teenager is dead. and three others are wounded. and 11-year-old girl is among the injured. good evening i'm jessica dean >> i'm ukee washington. this is all unfolding on the 100 block of east pastoria street. police tell "eyewitness news" a 16-year-old male shot in the back died. an 18-year-old male and a 19-year-old male were also shot. the 19-year-old is in critical condition. an 11-year-old girl who police believe was an innocent bystander was shot in the arm. it's unclear what sparked the gunfire, stay with "eyewitness news" and cbsphilly.com with the latest developments neighbors are stunned after a house sitter is killed in

south jersey >> alexandria hoff is live in woodbury with more on what we know tonight. alex? >> reporter: as of right now, there are everywhere few details in this investigation being released. how the victim knew the homeowner who was not there at the time or police have a suspect. >> shaded with green re, this home on hopkins street in woodbury city was left under the care of a house sitter. while its owners were away. >> windows locked, door locked. >> around 7:30 p.m. saturday, the woman watching the home, 26-year-old shawn carter was found dead. the victim of blunt force trauma according to the gloucester county prosecutor's office. >> everybody is calling everybody, are you ok? because it's across the street from my house. >> reporter: neighbor kim robinson saw card friday during a block party. but 24 hours before her body was discovered >> i seen her going in the house and that was i i was out here friday. and it was a lot of people out

here. i didn't see or didn't notice nothing. >> reporter: graduate of pennsauken high school, carter studied at camden cam college and leaves behind a young son, authority say the homeowner was out of town at the time and not explained what their relationship was to card, without a motive or a parent suspect this homicide took the life of one woman left grief and anxiety in her place >> it's not common at all and i got younger kids, i'm like, ok. they don't really know who did it or why or nothing. >> reporter: it is also unclear who discovered ms. carter's body. anyone with any information should contact their local police or the county prosecutor's office. reporting live in woodbury, alexandria hoff cbs3 "eyewitness news." alex, thank you. authorities are investigating a series of sexual assaults on and near the temple university campus. most recent reports came on friday. police say those two incidents one at johnson hardwood dorms,

the other at apartment at 17th and fountain, potential date rapes. the attacks are the third and fourth this school year and the greater temple area. now, temple issued a statement reading in part temple is committed to helping any student who experiences violence. the university has taken a number of steps in recent years to enhance education, prevention, intervention and adjudication, of sexual misconduct complaints. bensalem are searching for a car arsonist. the suspect attempted to put a rat in the gas tank -- after locki locking the gas cap, lit a flare and took off. president trump said he will visit puerto rico next tuesday as the crisis continues to grow in the wake of hurricane maria. about half the island no water

hurricane maria are relying on generators for power. but there's a group of first responders from our area, doctors, nurses and paramedics from local hospitals already on the ground >> we can set up a mash type unit we call eight boo where we're able to have patients come directly to us there and we're able to treat them like we would if it was an emergency room >> he's with pidmat 4, eight of its members are in puerto rico including her husband >> he helps to track when patients are being air lifted from the island to a medical facility here. >> reporter: the team flew out within hours of the hurricane hitting and before the emergency rooms can be built, so-called strike teams hit the ground and headed remote area >> we have iv solution, start kits, oxygen. >> they carry kits like the 50 pound packs on their backs and start treating most critical patient >> walking around three days with that on your backing a lot

february, we'll be begging for 80 some degrees but i know everyone is looking forward to the fall weather and it is coming and it's coming quickly by the end of the week and the weekend may actually be above average both days. let's start with a look outside. we'll take you to our shot of not much there. let's take a peak. of that's our library camera. we fixed the static. it's a beautiful night in center city, a lot of people out and about. you can see logan circle, the buildings all lit up. at beautiful mild evening, temperatures still in the 70's. definitely don't need the jacket. or the sweatshirt out there tonight and that's a good thing. it was on a nice day to take a walk on the boardwalk in rehoboth beach. i want to draw your attention to the surf, notice how rough this surf is all you day, you can see where seeing the waves all that foam, not a lot of beach out there and you can see the winds right now northeast at 22 miles an hour. 71 degrees right now in rehoboth beach. so the rough surf going to be an issue as we head through the

next several days as maria sits and spins offshore. maria is off to the south and as you can see still spinning off the coast of the carolinas. producing showers through the outer banks, those showers could clip portions of delaware, maryland and new jersey as we head through the day tomorrow. but as far as right now is concerned, we're not seeing much of anything from maria making its way into our area. we're looking a temperatures in the low 70's right now. all across the region. pretty comfortable outside. little cool in mount pocono at 61. you can see the colder air back to the west where it's only 57 in minneapolis, 40's and portions upper minnesota and daces and all the cool air is moving east. we'll break the east all the cool air from the north and west makes it to the east coast and not only to the cool us down but it will push maria out to sea. the current due point is 65. that puts us in the steamy range

i want you to know the 70's and 50, due points spike in the low 70's, tomorrow is very, very humid. but here comes that cold front. tomorrow night into thursday morning, watch happens be due points drop quickly from the 70s into the low 50's from oppressive to awesome in the space of a couple of hours. friday we got due points in the low 40's that is going to feel fantastic. front picks up now tropical storm maria pushes it out to sea by the westbound, it's gone, not going to be an issue for us and really the only impact our area will feel are at the coast where winds are ten, 20 miles an hour, seas especially down in delaware, eight to 12 feet. the dangerous rip currents we talked about. tonight we got temperatures around 70. watch for fog and low clouds tomorrow morning. then more sunshine in the afternoon. and thursday, that's the day everything changes. of nice cool breeze, lower humidity, friday is gorgeous and this weekend, even chilly at times, sunday morning some people will walk outside and it will be in the 40's.
