better known for beer garden, shakespeare park sits across the street from the freeway bare i feet from the fluttering flag of the ben franklin parkway. and, friday, it boosts unfortunate distinction of being the location of one of philadelphia's, latest homicides. >> the female stabbed a male twice in the neck, there is no chance to save him. he died, there, police responded. >> reporter: philadelphia police homicide captain jack ryan said both female suspect and male victim are homeless. killing happened minutes before 8:00 this morning near 19th and vine after some type of an argument and self-defense is not a factor. >> they had an argument. he was walking away. she ran back, and to him, and stabbed him twice in the neck. by the end of the day she will be charged with murder. >> reporter: this area of philadelphia has under gone a renaissance of sorts, in the pennsylvania year, redesign park featuring a giant chess board and place to grab a brew after work. >> i think it is very tragic,

streets in the center of the town. police arrested carpenter about an hour ago. today authorities charged a real estate agent with the murder and shooting death of the man in fishtown, investigators say, jean it way field shot and killed the three three-year old man outside her montgomery avenue apartment wednesday morning no word what led to the shooting. right now fire fighters are battling a serious blaze in the ocean county condo building. chopper three over the scene in lakewood, new jersey, the flames are tearing up the roof of the condo building on the sophie lane, in the over 55 community. authorities say that at lee, one resident was taken to the hospital, and two officers are being treated for smoke inhalation. officials say it is too early to pinpoint a cause of that fire. well in, a case that shook a south jersey community today a judge in camden county sentenced david creato junior to, 10 years in prison for causing death of his toddler's son. and loved by many. my angel in heaven i long to reunite with one day. >> reporter: asked if he would like to say anything he simpl ied president, no. >> reporter: some year sentence he received could be reduced to eight and a half if he makes parole and since he gets credit for year and a half he has already served in jail, the 24 year-old could be free by the age of 30. after court, creato's family and attorney spoke more about math, then remorse. >> well, what would you rather spend 10 years in jail or 30. >> it is very specific, he plead todd recklessly causing his son's death. he absolutely believes this was a plea too good to turn down. >> reporter: walking with the mother samantha prosecutor shaw wouldn't stop to explain the plea deal, which many in the community say is too lenient. creato's father says his family still believes dj is innocent. >> i want to know answers and wrong person is sitting in jail. >> reporter: david creato, senior says he looks to hire a private detective to continue

a football length and a half people have been waiting here for hours and this is exactly the reason why we came here, so many people, in philadelphia, and back here in puerto rico as soon as we got off the airport said go outside san juan because you will see devastation and desperation, and that is what we did see. so we headed down, to caguas and we captured that footage on our drive here showing some of the devastation, as we headed down here it took about 30 minutes to get here and that is a drive i have done before i have been in this area before and driven down to see my family. that highway we were on, it was usually a lush, green, highway and every where would you look, there was greenery. what we saw were trees almost all dead, ripped from the ground, not a single one, even the won that managed to stay standing have leaves on it and when we got there, it got worse, and, they have fallen on peoples properties. trees, damage homes, well, the win when maria hit, hit off

the roof but damage here at this point as i mentioned earlier is war of the worries. people here told us supplies are not getting to them, still this is only 30 minutes from san juan and they are in the getting those supplies. we saw rinds of people like we have right here, waiting for water and ice, even though and i stress this even though they know that there is no water or ice here. they are just hoping at some point, ice, will be there and when it does they will be ready. others we saw in the mountain area found a home where there was water coming out of it and they are drink ago this water even though they are not sure fit is safe to do so with you they are desperate. now a lot of people along the way, the only thing that is getting them through right now is faith. >> we have problems. that is only way.

tonight at holy cross academy takes on florence high school, it will be a big game but, this school says they have a big advantage because it feels like family, see what i'm saying next. i might join them. paulsboro's a very proud community. it's been on the decline with the closing of the refineries and there's no jobs in the community. if there's no jobs, there's no education, there's no food on the table. what's important is the children. steve sweeney... he fought for 'em. this is where he's from. steve sweeney's been here since the beginning. steve spearheaded the whole project and really brought it to fruition. it would've never been done without steve. it was a pride in building this port and then knowing that we're coming back.
