they heard burst of 0 shots and pause while he reloaded and fired down into the crowd again. the scene became clearly one of chaos. people breaking down fences to get out of this area and toe get clear the lobe shootser on 32 floor. they say they. >> they took out the shooter from the hotel. finally on what went on for perhaps five minutes witnesses say, we now know that more than 100 people were wounded and more than 20 people were killed. the witnesses who came out of that concert told drawm attic stories of lying on they tried to get up and get out of the line of fire and they would hit the dirt and wait for next pause in gunfire

reporting there from site of shooting in las vegas. if you're joining us just now the clark country sheriff incou more than 20 have died and more than 100 are injured after the shooting at a country music festival last night. the shooter -- the lone shooter is dead. police are looking for a woman to question at this time. they have not located her yet. they say she may have been a companion of this shooter. his name is not being released. the shooting began at about just after 10:00 local time, west coast time, in las vegas, 10:08. police have not skmenltcommente what they believe the shooter's belief system to be as they say it as they continue to treat many at the hospital, many of whom are in critical condition.

we're getting a little more information on the shooter right now. john blackstone as we mentioned is still there. john? >> reporter: the shooter was on the 32nd floor of the mandalay bay hotel pack there. while the police have not released his name, they describe him as a white male in his 60s. they say he was living in a retirement community. police have now entered his home. police say there was one suspect. he was in the hotel, the 32nd room. they reached that room with explosives. he's dead. they've identified him. a white male in his 60s living in a retirement community. >> john, have you heard if he had a criminal record? i realize it's still early. >> reporter: no criminal record ads f . as far as police have said, nothing has stood out,ing in that would indicate he would be

responsible for something like this. like i saying a white male in his 0s. law enforcement experts will say that's not usually the profile for somebody who does this. >> john, any more details on the subject of interest, the female who police think may be an accomplice or somebody who might have more? >> reporter: they're describing her as a come pappion. they're looking for her. whether she was involved with the shooting or another possibility they feel if she was a companion, harm may have come to her. multiple reasons they're looking for her now. >> she's marilou danley, 4'11", about 110 pounds. las vegas police have tweeted out a picture of her so folks know what she looks like. again, they have not released the name of the shooter. we should also mention they continue to look for these two

vehicles with nevada plates. they're looking for a hyundai tucson and a chrysler pacifica, both of these sleeks, we're told, are registered to the suspect. the license plate numbers are up on your screen right now as they try to find out exactly what happened here in the lead-up to this shotting. las vegas police do say that at least two officers were shot. one of them in critical condition. a second officer with minor injuries. i believe we also heard the clarke county sheriff's officers say couple of police officers died after being shot. thaw were attending this concert to watch this concert and not work at it. >> it's a very popular event in las vegas. a three-day concert and this was the last day. singer jason aldean was performing when the shooting started. you can hear
