october. it certainly didn't feel like that this morning with very un seasonably warm, overnight lows. temperatures last night and early this morning only falling back in the lower to mid 70's. now these numbers so long as we don't fall to these levels by midnight tonight which we likely won't are potentially record overnight minimum temperatures. seventy-four was your low this morning in philadelphia. that is is is it. we have cropped down to 74. seventy-three in wilmington: that is in large part because of the tropical moisture thanks to nate, dew points they are still up there in the middle 70's, dew points of course tell us how sticky it feels when you step outside but dew points are a measure of that moisture, absolute measure of the moisture in the air. air depending upon temperature can only hold a certain amount of moisture like max capacity. warmer air can hold more moisture then colder air. because of the relationship between air temperature and dew point temperature the air temperature can't fall below
5:18 pm
that dew point so for example, if the dew point is 70, the air temperature cannot fall below, 70 degrees. so we have this warm, muggy morning in part because of all of this tropical moisture hanging around not allowing our temperatures to cool during an overnight per, kate and leaving us all with this misery and again, tonight we have got this moisture hanging out so it looks like, we have another warm, muggy night ahead. thanks, nate, we really appreciate it. >> thanks, nate. >> nate leaving his stickiness behind but not leaving the rain behind so that is good news. it just feels so muggy. thanks, come on in and cool off in the air conditioning. come on in. lets talk about what is going on outside, it is muggy, hazy, glummy, but at lee it is notg raining. we have had brightening in the sky through the afternoon hours here and there but then cloud really redoubled their efforts and the cloud roll in again. we will get a couple spotty showers here and there looking pretty nice right now if you had are out and about but it is steamy, as lauren just told
5:19 pm
us and dew points in the mid 70's with these temperatures cannot drop below that level and if they drop to the level of the dew point you are at one her sent saturation and air feels like walking out in the steam bath. 78 degrees heading over to the other side of the river in palmyra, 78, you can see cloud hanging over in the city. barely see buildings there that is what we have been dealing with all day. heaviest rain from nate, it has moved off to the north, in maine, that is where we are seeing the heaviest of the rain, right now with some yellow and reds up there, near the canadian maritime. for us we are seeing residual showers around through rest of tonight, a few sprinkles off to the north. a couple of them are starting to gain intensity. that one over berks county moving in the lehigh veil, seeing steadier downpours there watch out for slow downs out on the roads this evening. and we have to take you back to the storm we just told but in comrade owe bringing some snow, that is moving south and moving across the country impacting us late wednesday into thursday, not bringing us snow but will bring us a cool

5:21 pm
hopefully there won't be any weather delays. 75 degrees will be the game time temperature in charlotte. much warmer then here on thursday when it is only 67, with the chance of showers, but less we start to think fall has arrived we are back to the 80's by week even. >> through are. >> yep. >> okay, thanks, kate. still ahead on "eyewitness news" and impromptu sing along at a college football. >> ♪ >> why one school's fans decided to pay tribute to the late tom petty and we will tell you petty's connection to that school. >> speaking of tom petty one philadelphia eagles did some free falling during a, touchdown, yesterday, straight ahead we recap fun in the end zone and hear inspiration behind them, sports coming up

people would flip out, like why can't you do these things. now it is okay it is a show a lot of football fans used to show nfl stand for no fun league. that may not be the case anymore this season they are allowing players to celebrate thanks to loose guidelines. eagles took full advantage against the arizona cardinals. first quarter carson wentz airing it out to tori smith a 59-yard touchdown but scoring wasn't enough. they decided to pick up, some style points as well. and, they knocked it out of the parkas you can see. nelson agholor will deliver the pitch and tori, it is gone how about baseball, south philadelphia. bird win 34-seven and celebrate with flare. >> we get long won and hit home runs. i thought he was saying take a picture. >> he didn't give me my number i was expecting a couple numbers, a head nod, and then, you know, that type of deal.
5:26 pm
>> at first i thought they were taking picture. i will jump in, photo bomb. then i seen him throwing a pitch. so i went witt. i seen him hit hit. >> we never really practiced it, but, you know, it looked pretty cool when they showed it on the video. >> well done. >> and smith's touchdown celebration wasn't only talker , third year wide out nelson agholor had play of the game, snagged a 72-yard touchdown and in the process completely em bared baker, there you see there, a little backward free fall, a shout out to former bird, desean jackson. >> oh, that is kind of a tribute to d jack he used to do that. i watched his tapes. shout out to d jack for. that everything was awesome it is good to celebrate. that was trash. >> you got to evaluate, your teammates, you know, let them know what you think bit. >> yes. >> tell us how you really feel >> thanks, don.
