the worse of the humidity starting to scale back somewhat. but, it definitely is going to still be quite warm out there. and clearly, i don't have an extra layer on right now, most of are you likely to not need that either. well, we will show you the temperatures in a second. let's look at storm scan, always good place to start. tracking active weather yesterday. sort every on race against the clock for the precipitation to get in here and try to get the morning rush in without any major irma. now you don't have to worry about it. probably have to encounter sun glare, more than patchy fog, but that's real at this, very quiet view on storm scan, all the way to up new england. here is a look at the values on the thermometer. that's not bad. mid upper 60s, low mid 70s, even, and even despite that, northwesterly wind flow starting to pick up somewhat. it is not a really breezy day but winds direction that really matters. it will help drop the humidity levels somewhat as the day goes on, so we come off of the mid upper 60s at minimum, eventually climb all the way into the mid eight's, for the kids to be riding home from school again today.

so, for the most part, again, they can get away with at least a t-shirt and jeans, and some of you do even, you know, sends them out the door with short depending where you are starting the morning off here. nice day, all-in-all, but more rain is in our future. i'll let you know when it arrives a little later on, meisha >> all right, katie, thank you so much. very good morning to all of you. if you are just waking up with us, listen, so glad you're here, looking outside, 95 south at cottman, come around the s can you r of, starting to heat up levels, exact same shot little bit ago on 95 push in the southbound direction, and it looks great. now, we're starting to see things heat up. so right around 5:30, we start to see things usually change on a monday, tuesday, wednesday, that's what we're seeing, blue route near route one, headlights moving in the northbound direct, tail light southbound direction, either way go on the blue route starting to heat up there as well. 422 headlights eastbound direction past oaks, starting to heat up there as well, everyone still traveling at posted speeds but just to give you an idea starting to heat

up. do have this accident, overturned vehicle, that went off the road. this is involving injuries. on the northeast extension. so northeast extension southbound before lansdale, it is going to be then of course pulled all the way off to the shoulder. hopefully they have it out from being offer the road either way, we're going to start to slow down around the area right now. so i'll let you know as soon as it clears, for now factor in extra time. also, going to be talking about some construction throughout delaware coming up in the next ten minutes, rahel , back to you. >> all right, meisha, thank you. wall of deadly flames here in california, as more than dozen wild fires burn across the northern part of the state >> the fires are being blamed for at least ten deaths in the destruction of at least 1500 homes and businesses, and those figures expected to rise we head out to cbs news correspondent greg mills live in santa rosa california one of the hardest hit towns, good morning, greg. >> good morning, jim, rahel, yes, 1500 structures, burned down, as you mentioned, including this home, and we're seeing this block after block

after block, in this community , and think of, this family left their house less than 24 hours ago, and this is what they're come edge bag to. this was a hilton hotel in the nappa valley. the they cater to tourists visiting vinyards. firefighters decided to just let it burn last night, because it was too far gone, and they were spread too thin. more than a dozen wild fires, throughout california, continued to burn out of control. >> primarily up here in wine country, in so no, ma'am, a nap a counties. those trying to evacuate oftentimes finds themselves stuck between pockets every flames. >> there are fires everywhere. i've been sent in three different directions >> homes, businesses cents, entire forests engulfed in flames. vice president mike pence, on an unrelated visit to the region, promised federal support. >> federal government stands ready, and to provide any and all assistance, to the state of california, as your courageous firefighters and first responders, confront this lightening challenge

>> now, frustrations came to a head of the packed meeting last night in williamstown, new jersey, the second meeting in less than a week, molds concerns originally affected just one school in the district, but in a last minute decision officials decided to close every school, so they could all be tested. >> i'm real upset that the kids are off school for a week you had all summer to test for everything. and now they're out of school. >> if we find anything, we will get it all cleaned up. then move forward. we want to get our kids back in school. >> now, holly glenn elementary school was initially the only school in the district that was closed due to mold. the original plan was to bus those student don't other schools. now that all of the other schools are closed, parents and students are being urged to be patient. >> meantime, mold concerns at cheltenham high school have forced district to shut down the school's library. school officials say it has been sealed off, and it is self-contained, h vac system has been shutdown. they'll consult with experts to see what testing in other parts of the building need to be done.

schedules renovations cents to the library have been moved to up this year >> new information on story we first told you yesterday morning. we have learned it was a temple student who was shot and killed by police in miami beach after reportedly hitting a officer with her car. twenty-two year old carryann seen here in a youtube video, trying to drive away from the scene of an accident sunday evening, when she struck an officer. another officer opened fire, killing her, her father told c bs miami that his daughter was it south florida celebrating her birthday. >> philadelphia police announce arrest in the murder of popular community activist, six a year old winnie harris was found shot dead in her west philadelphia home in february. they say they arrested 39 year old nelson giddings in connection to the crime. now faces multiple charges, including murder and robbery. >> well, happening today, afternoon rally against temple university proposed new football stadium. student, university personnel, and residents of north philadelphia, have voiced concerns over the construction before. they say the stadium will

, in the low 60s. now, that's generally not the case everywhere. but when you look at the eyewitness weather watchers, we go right to the list format here, even since yesterday, the temperature has gun to drop off at least a little bit here. mid upper 60s, mark in chatsworth, interestingly, one of the milder spots of the degrees because he is in one of the spots that tends to be the coolest. he's all the way up in sal errings berg, 64 degrees, you get the idea, he had ned chesterfield, 69. very warm start to the morning all things considered, for the standards of the time frame. on the calendar. but when you look at storm scan, there is system getting its act together. and if you look real closely, actually, to start to make out little bit after comma shape, with it, so showing more signs of organization. the warmfront, what's going to eventually lift north into tomorrow. that is what will bring our next chance for showers. but, we have a system like this dropping in, sole cool air will common its heals, so while it has been real warm here, it will be even warmer today. you're currently low or even mid 70s, in a hands full of spots. even warmer out in van of the

cold front. but look at the sharp cut-off that comes in the wake of that front. and you want to talk temperatures that are cold. look at this. it is 37 in the twin cities right now, you're below freez ing in bismarck, north dakota. now it is bismarck north dakota, but still a heck of a lot cold their than it is here this is when uncle really start see those very stark contrasts, in temperature, and we're even talking about the kind of alerts that you would see in the wintertime, frost advisories, freeze warnings, hard freeze warnings, back towards the northern planes, central planes, on the heals of the system that drew the cold air in, far from the north. now looking forward here at home, no cold air coming our way at all. say for behind this cool front that comes along, showers as early as tomorrow, p.m. m time frame. thursday still showers around. but that tends to be the coolest day of our forecast here, meisha. and the most seasonable. >> katie, 37 in minneapolis, st. paul. aren't you glad you're here? you know what? i'll call on rip on all of

them, all of my friends, good morning, everyone, looking outside right now. i got to say our morning commute so far, so good. we do have an accident out there. one of them out there right now. but i will say in terms of levels, and we've got nice dry roadways, in terms of levels, though, actually looking pretty good. certainly starting to heat up now approaching the 6:00 hour. we can expect that. but for typical reasons, typical in the world of travel , looking good. schuylkill headlines moving in the eastbound direction, for gulph mills, looking good there, boulevard as you push southbound, toward the schuylkill, looking good there , as well. forty-two at college drive, headlights moving in the northbound direction, starting to build levels there. but still, looking good. still traveling around at posted speeds. this is the one area i really want to pull your attention, weaver an accident, overturned vehicle, that went offer the road, with injuries northeast, before lansdale, again blocking some of the shoulder. so as they move this out of your way, we are going to start to get some gaper delay. start to tap on the brakes. go little

area. so for as long as this lingers out there, heads up, give yourself, i would say at this point, maybe extra 20 minute or so. in delaware, 495, looking good fifty-nine north between 202 and marsh road, right lane block, until halloween,october . jim, back over to you >> well conflicting store thinks morning from frontier airlines and passengers, as to why a flight suddenly had to be diverted. that flight from vegas to cleveland made unscheduled landing in salt lake city early yesterday morning, passengers on board say the plane encountered extreme turbulence, that left several people injured, including a pregnant woman. some recounted the terrifying ordeal. >> there was a girl six month pregnant, and all the stress caused her to have quite an emergency. >> i was over the wing just watching the wing shaking, shuttering, feeling, shaking, rattling, it was pretty terrifying >> now here is the weirds thing, despite those accounts from passengers, a frontier airline spokesperson says there were no report of severe turbulence from the crew.
