five days after las vegas massacre october 5th, atlantic city police tipped off to this suspect. >> daniel smith was attempting to sell high powered rifles ammunition, and pipe bombs. >> reporter: within hours henry white, junior, police chief says his officers with the fbi and home land security devised an under cover buy to get those weapons off the street. >> our investigation revealed they were actively trying to sell these to anyone that would give them money. dropped everything we were doing, gave us our full investigation and attention. >> reporter: thirty-seven year-old deemers and another woman nina house in, cuffs and facing a slew of felony charges. >> thus far we don't see a connection to any other political or terrorist-type organizations. >> reporter: investigators were recovering a savage 3006 snipper rifle with scopes, 300 round of ammunition and materials for five pipe bombs. police say that the suspect's

motive appears to be entirely driven by greed. >> we have nothing to indicate they had any plans to use them just to sell them. >> reporter: there was concern about what deemers told the under cover officer buying the deadly merchandise. >> it was learned that he provided instructions, on how to a sem. the pipe bomb and noted they should be filled with nails to act as shrapnel. very concerning and alarming that information was given. >> reporter: back here live, the sting operation went down at an apartment complex you see off of pennsylvania avenue that is the building with that red fire escape ladder. now deemers and house each face at least five felony charges, each, including possession of a destructive device, and conspiracy. i'm live from atlantic city, i'm greg argos for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> greg, thank you. atlantic city police arrested these two men charging them with salt and robbery of the 36 year-old man this is after that victim who is from new york told police these suspects held him

against his will for two days, used a blow torch to burn his feet and set fish hooks in his mouth and chin. three two-year old mark hopewell of atlantic city and 28 year-old roberto alycia of mays landing face robbery, aggravated assault and conspiracy charges. discussions are underway once again about where the temple university football team should play its home football games. protesters are voicing their concerns about a new on campus stadium and "eyewitness news" reporter alycia nieves is live at temple on the latest on the heated debate, alycia. >> reporter: jessica the debate over a stadium at temple university has been going on for roughly two years , even though we have not heard much about it over last couple of months, as the university has been under going a feasibility study but that has all changed thanks to recent remarks by the university's president, and in fact, has sparked a protest today. >> people united will never be defeated. >> reporter: police presence and protest at temple university, dozens of people

gathered outside the school's board of trustees meeting in opposition of the proposed 35,000 seat stadium, thinks first trustee meeting since the university's president, recently made mention that temple is moving forward with a controversial 130 million-dollar idea. >> adding a stadium in the residential neighborhood at 16th and arch street is like putting like i said before a whale inside of the gold fish bowl and i don't see how it will work other than for temple with profits over people. >> it is caught. >> reporter: temple proposal for on campus stadium the school says it it will save 3 million a year just on no longer needing to lease space at lincoln financial field for its football at home games. the savings for the university from protesters could come at a cost too high for the community. >> it will do everything from increase trash, and students to further erode community members ability to park. >> reporter: long term the cost could be even deeper.

>> the stadium will contribute to the destruction of a historiccably black community. it will raise rents, raise taxes and threaten peoples ability to stay in the homes that they were born in. >> although a decision has not yet been made, if such a facility were to be built our goal would be a multi purpose facility that would have benefits for our neighbors as well as the university. >> reporter: and decision has not been made on the stadium in part because that feasibility study is not yet complete. in order for a decision to be made, the board will to have vote. that did not happen today. the stadium wasn't even on the agenda for today's meeting. what you heard the president say there a few seconds ago was only comment school would make about the status of the stadium. reporting live from philadelphia, alycia nieves for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". the count down to carolina continues, we are getting ever closer to thursday night football. >> of course we have you

>> evident pointed to an accident. schools in monroe, township gloucester county remain closed tonight due to mold concerns. frustration is mounting for parents who don't know, when students will return to the classroom. "eyewitness news" reporter joe holden is live in williamstown with new information we are at district's mold report. >> reporter: we have new information, also from the superintendent, he stopped, and gave us a brief interview, a q and a at what is going on right now, in this district. have a listen. >> is there any smoking gun yet that your inspectors have been able to come across as far as your collogue. >> no, they have not. all i know is it will take at least a minimum of three months to get everything re

mediated. >> have the other schools, they were closed, is it safe to say as a precaution. >> that is truth, i want to make sure we check all of the schools to see if there was any concerns of that. >> any concerns found. >> not so far. >> crisis in the south jersey school district, doors at every school building, closed amid mold fears. >> they just keep saying they didn't know. >> tensions from inside holland glenn, revealed panic and it spilled over in the emergency meeting with the board of education taking heavy fire. >> i will get you on it. >> reporter: in an investigation we have asked two experts to independently review the report, each found document lacked the smoking gun, the cause of all this mold remains a mystery, we are told, fixing it will be costly and potentially complicated. district official told parents last night that they have known about the mold for nine months, and it could be as a result of the old ventilation and cooling system. >> it shouldn't have got then far. >> they said they didn't know, do you believe that.

>> well, they said they found out in january. >> reporter: with the schools closed down because of mold fears, parents like amanda sin claire merill believe her children's illnesses could be flaring as a result of this. >> because of the allergens that maybe there is spores or something inside, the school or it doesn't make any sense but during summer when it is really humid and things are blooming outside, why he would be perfectly fine. >> reporter: school district in full damage control, thousands of students all off for the rest of the week, asked a five-year old is what going on. >> is there mold in all of the schools. so we have to have off, a lot of days. >> well, some new information from the superintendent, also, suggest that no significant mold was found in any other school, except for holy glenn, they expect they might be back on line, on monday of next week. now as far as holy glenn is concern, off line for three months, and the smoking gun, i'm just told, moments ago they believe to be, the air handlers. that is very latest live from

williamstown joe holden for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> joe, thanks very much. new at 6:30 a disturbing case of animal abuse is in delaware. authorities say they found 43 dead dogs inside of a house in seaford, animal services seized another 31 dogs and a cat from that home on sunday. they were alive but badly neglect. these are pictures of some of the dogs brandywine valley spca is caring for right now. investigators say, a tip from the public led them to the abuse charges are pending. and fire safety officials put on a demonstration today, as part of an effort to educate the public about closing bedroom doors. the philadelphia fire department, and ul fire fighter safety research institute, burned this home in the training center in sharon hill some hoe how quickly it can engulfed a home. they used this demonstration to collect additional research about how fires burn, and how they spread. still to come on "eyewitness news" we will get flyered up with the help of the philly sports legend,
