across center city just simply a beautiful morning, but it is simply cold out there, too. i mean, temperatures are in the 40's. across many areas, even have some 30's out there, as well. and we're not going to warm up all that much, as we head into the afternoon. looking at highs generally up ear's, lower 60s, but no doubt about it, it is going to be a chilly day. our weather watchers also checking in with those chilly temperatures as well. you have a lot of 30's, a lot of 40's on the map. let's show you some of the folks who have woken up early with us, fran in nottingham, 34 degrees, in her backyard, eileen in gilbertsville, 32 degrees, it is literally freezing where she lives. mark in new jersey at 35, it is 39 according to barbara in willow grove. ed in chesterfield at 31, 37 for phil in philadelphia. kerry, mt. laurel, 38 degrees. the list goes on and on. talking about some chilly numbers out there, as we start out your day. so, look at numbers across the

region, across the delaware vale. again 30's, 40's, 42 degrees right now in philadelphia. we have 32 mount pocono. forty in allentown. thirty-nine this trenton, down the shore, 40 degrees in atlantic city. it is 43 degrees in wildwood. we have those winds coming in out of the north and west. so that's helping just fill in some of the chillier numbers. 42 degrees by 7:00. 50 degrees by 10:00. as i mentioned, won't warm up all that much. even our high temperature for the day today in the up ear's, low 60s, depending on where you live. forecasting high temperature right around 61 degrees in philadelphia, and 59 degrees by the 5:00 hour later this evening. high pressure completely in control. you guys, this is in control basically the entire week. it will be dominating the forecast promoting a bun can't sunshine, and we will see some slight warming as high pressure shift little bit off shore later in the week. but another chilly night on tap. low humidity is in the forecast, pretty much all week so really nice stretch of weather headed our way.

as i mentioned, some slow warming by friday, saturday time frame, with high pressure off shore, looking at highs making it into the mid 70s. so here is your forecast for today. high temperature 61 degrees. sunny and very fall like as we head into the overnight hours tonight. another chilly one setting up overnight low temperatures in the mid 40's, then quick check of your eyewitness weather seven day forecast, see the warm up by friday, saturday, but sunshine, meisha, all the way through the upcoming weekend. i mean really nice forecast. >> it is absolutely beautiful. when you see that much sun, i think anyone will say i don't even care if i have to wear a winter jacket, if can i have that sun like that, i'm going for t thanks so much, chelsey. speaking of yes, chilly yesterday. chilly again this morning the the difference between today and yesterday was the rainy roadways that really slowed cents us down in our morning commute. because we have dry roadways this morning, i will say that it is looking a lot better than it did yesterday morning, however, we're seeing it kind of pick up little bit quicker than what we typically see just because yesterday it was so wet. we'll have the trickle effect

into this morning. we did have accident here, 309 southbound county line road, now since cleared. we had one not too far away county line road, richardson road, has also been cleared. then we do have car fire out there. it is still out there. horsham road, your neck of the woods, just heads up. probably won't slow you down too much. dow want to pull your attention, then 42 northbound, creek road, take it to 295, sea of headlight out there, see how busy it is starting to get, seeing the same kind of story on the schuylkill as well, especially pushing in the eastbound direction. now, we have some bridge inspections here, pa turnpike east and westbound, intermittent lane closures until around 7:00 a.m. and construction crews are still out, there as well, talking more about this coming up in the next ten minute. jim, back over to you. >> thank you shall meisha. cbs-3, "cw philly" and the komen teaming up in the fight against breast cancer and turning our area pink. skyscraper one riverside condominium just one of the buildings getting it glow on, okay you may know, national breast cancer awareness month.

the pink lights are a reminder to schedule a mammogram, and stay vigilant in the fight again breast cancer. this is the 16th year for the light for the cure campaign. you can find out more information at cbsphilly.com/ cure. >> well, new jersey's coastline is dotted when scenic lighthouse cents but how many do you think you could visit over a weekend? >> the lighthouse challenge of new jersey is taking place this saturday and sunday, eyewitness just reporter pat gallen is at the absecon lighthouse atlantic sit way preview. hi, pat. >> good morning, guys, yes, built in 1857, the historic absecon lighthouse stands 171 feet tall, it is beautiful , we're going up there in just a little bit. but first let's get a little bit of the history of it, this is jean, good morning. >> good morning, pat. >> thanks for having us this morning. so tell us a little bit about it? >> well, absecon lighthouse, first of all, the name is absecon because we're on absecon island, ventnor,

margate, longport, first litton january 15, 1857. one really cool historical future we have, too, is that the lighthouse construction was overseen by general george meade. he led the union army at the battle of gettysburg. i know, cool, right? so we were the prototype actually for the barnegat and cape may lighthouse cents in general meade oversaw the construction of them, as well, so they are known as the meade abc lighthouse cents. the second cool thing is that we still have in place at the top here the original first order lentz, a french scientist who figured out how to make a light a that could shine 19-point a naught call miles out to sea. >> impressive. >> yes. >> impressive. so, also, just as impressive, is the challenge that is happening not only here, but on several of the lighthouse cents throughout new jersey. >> yes, this is like our major event of the year for all of the lighthouse cents around the state, called the lighthouse town of new jersey.

and it is a chance for people from all over the country, and they do come to visit new jersey's 11 lighthouse cents, two light stations and museum, the challenge is you have two days it run around the state and start maybe at sandy hook or around the delaware bay, and try and get all, you know, lighthouses in one weekends. and they are fun things, people collect souvenirs along the way, you know, just great family fun event. >> so whether you come here for the challenge, you can obviously walk up into the lighthouse? >> yes, and we are one of three lighthouse that is will be open for nighttime. so on saturday night, just as it is now, you will be able to climb the lighthouse tower, go up and actually see the lens in person. >> so i'm going to get a chance to walk up there with my cameraman kyle who i am sure he is thrilled he has to lug that camera up 228 sets? >> 128 stems to the top. >> ready? >> i'm ready. i do it all the time.

flocking to see one heck of a pumpkin. >> this sunday someone monster showing off its 1360 pounds pumpkin. yep, largest previously was a mere, you know, 760 pounds. the farm's corn maze and selection of plant also attract large crowds. between indianapolis and chicago been in business for 150 years. so quite some time. also, thousands of carved pumpkins are lighting you up the night in kentucky. this is louisville jack-o-lantern spectacular. last weekend hour wait in line just to walk along the illuminated trail of carved puck upped -- pumps pumpkins, adorable, proceeds from the spectacular benefit louisville city park department. those are some works of art there. >> looking good. well, coming up in the next hour of cbs-3 "eyewitness news,d disease that affect one in nine men, and how it can lead to other deadly diseases, that's in this morning's health watch. >> plus how about this? crazy sky over london. find out what turned

everything yellow. next. paulsboro's a very with the closing of thee refineries and there's no jobs in the community. if there's no jobs, there's no education, there's no food on the table. what's important is the children. steve sweeney... he fought for 'em. this is where he's from. steve sweeney's been here since the beginning. steve spearheaded the whole project and really brought it to fruition. it would've never been done without steve. it was a pride in building this port and then knowing that we're coming back.
