medication. vet we spoke to said he has not encountered this situation but there is a new tool aimed towards prevention. stuck in the middle of the battle against opioid abuse, pets and their vets >> we use these type. >> to curb the potential abuse of drugs, new jersey is seeking to better track the medications. including veterinarians in on the prescription monitoring subscription activity portal >> if we have a suspicion that somebody is abusing the system, they give us a mechanism by which we could find out. >> reporter: the system basically fines owners and their pets on certain medications are being obtained. according to dr. lee specter. the most common drug they supply to pet owners is to curb he want

injured. all told, four people were in the truck and two in the car. the cause of the crash is yet to be determined. a delaware mother is behind bars tonight be facing charges in the deaths of her infant son and his 5-year-old brother. police say this woman, admitted to drowning the brothers, she's being held on $2 million bail. authorities found the boys dead in a home on west 9th in wilmington yesterday morning, five hours before she allegedly killed the children. >> we gave her the help number for delaware help line that can help her with any of the issues that she's having. >> police cannot say at this time whether the mother's immigration concerns caused her later actions. 11 days ago. the boy's father was incarcerated in york pennsylvania. police say he was picked up by ice for immigration issues. north philadelphia, family

friends held a candle vigil on carlyle street to remember brian gravely shot and killed on the 1800 block on erie avenue sunday. a gunman fired into a and suv hitting the 27-year-old and another man. that second victim was shot in the back and is in critical condition. the delaware department of justice indicted 18 inmateses in connection with a february. 17 prison riot, steven floyd was killed in the standoff at the james. vaughn correctional center in smyrna. two officers were injured and a counselor was taken hostage. inmates took control of the building to protest unfair conditions the inmates now face murder, assault and kidnapping charges. tomorrow we could learn whether convicted child moster sandusky will get a new trail. sandusky is arguing he did not receive adequate representation

by his attorneys during his 2012 trial for child sexual abuse. he also argued prosecutors failed to turn over information about victims changing their stories. the former penn state assistant football coach is currently serving 30 to 60 years in prison for abusing ten boys. the nfl team owners and players met today to try to reach a compromise in the wake of the national anthem demonstrations. eagles owner jeffrey lure retook part along with malcomb jenkins and chris long, some players have been protesting by taking a knee or locking arms during national anthem. nfl commissioner roger goodell and some owners believe players should stand >> this is the first time we got chance to sit down and like there was definitely like, there was real dialogue and conversation. >> the league and players union issued a statement saying owners and players had a productive meeting focused on how we can

days in october. we needed one day below the norm. temperatures right now, across the nation, chilly, look at raleigh, 45 in raleigh. 48 in boston, 51 in nashville 55 atlanta, milder across the plains, 60's in bismarck, some of the milder air will be heading our way. a chilly night across interior sections of south jersey where a frost advisory will go into effects 1:00, this is away from coast. interior sections of south jersey, a lot of agriculture in this region, there can be patchy frost, upper 30's, frost will be patchy. it's a slow warmup. average high 66. today, well below average, tomorrow, better, we start to warm back up. mid 70's by friday and saturday.
