>> we are, we are lucky, another extremely warm day for october. it wouldn't surprise me by the time it is all said and done october could be one of the top five warmest octobers on record because of it looking like we have even more above average days, in the forecast for the upcoming week and perhaps even the week, following. that let me start off with a really nice view of the kutztown area, just look at that sunrise, a cool, refreshing start, a temperature in kutztown right around 41 degrees. elsewhere across delaware and lehigh valley we are in the 40 's and 50's. 53 degrees in philadelphia down the shore 50 in wildwood. forty-eight in atlantic city. right around 40 in mount pocono and 44 degrees currently in allentown. there are some locations but we are seeing improvement in millville that are dealing with some visibility problems on as we start off your sunday morning. be mindful. we are dealing with patchy dense fog into south jersey and down into our delaware beaches but i anticipate to see improvement in these locations over the next hour

"eyewitness news" reporter anita oh is live outside temple university hospital hospital with what the community is now saying about this, anita. >> reporter: good morning. neighbors are saddened, frustrated because they believe this could have been prevented and one neighbor says that while she's praying for this boy to fully recover she's upset by the fact that gun inside the home was not fully secured. philadelphia police say a

three-year old appeared to have been shot in the head accidentally in the home on the 3600 block of north 18th street in tioga nicetown. when they rushed to the home around 3:00 saturday afternoon they found a young boy along with his six year-old abe 12 year-old brothers home alone. they believe the six year-old may have accidentally pulled a trigger after the boys somehow accessed a handgun inside. >> six year-old had shot the three-year old. he don't noe better. he thought it was a toy. he is six. >> reporter: report neighbors say parents need to be vigilant in keeping their firearms secured. >> they should have had access the security in the home when they left they should have took it with them. it is not acceptable. >> reporter: at last check that boy remains in critical condition here at temple university hospital. live from north philadelphia, this morning i'm anita oh for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". anita, thank you. in dome wear county search is on for a gunman who opened fire on four people on a

basketball court, this shooting happened just before 6:00 o'clock last night, now police say the shots were fired from an elevated position, along the 1200 block of carlos lane in chester. all of the victims whether hit in the letter body. right now no word on their conditions or what led to this shooting. a teen is recovering this morning after he was gunned down in south philadelphia. the shots rang out near more and south 30th street just before nine credit 30 last night. police tell us that the 16 year-old was shot two times in both legs, he is now in stable condition, in word on what sparked that gunfire. and philadelphia police say they have a suspect in custody after two people are stabbed inside of their torresdale home. this stabbing happened just after 11:30 last night in the 3800 block of pierson avenue, and police say that the victims were stabbed in the lower body, both are now in stable condition, it is unclear what led to this violence. at lee two philadelphia police officers suffered injuries during a protest in center city yesterday,

hundreds, demonstrated at the international association of chiefs of police met inside convention center. "eyewitness news" reporter henry rossoff was there. >> reporter: cell phone video shows a scuffle between police and protesters near the frank rizzo statue. it happened a few blocks from the convention center which was hosting a meeting of the major cities chiefs association police confirmed at lee two officers suffered minor injuries and several arrest where is made. >> hours before the violence there was a march that made its way through streets of the center city that crowd called for all law enforcement to be abolish. several onlookers even those with problems with police thought the message was a little extreme if something happened we need more police. they shouldn't abolish police but they should work together. >> reporter: meanwhile inside the conference the headliner attorney general jeff sessions wasted little time discussing an increase in violent crime based on the most recent fbi

earlier this month. one of the fallen soldiers at the center of the war of word between president trump and florida congress woman was laid to rest, yesterday. roxana saberi has the very latest. >> ♪ >> reporter: friends, family and fellow soldiers honored sergeant ladavid johnson as he was laid to rest in his home state of florida on saturday. his pregnant widow myeshia said good bye one final time. questions are growing over how 25 year-old jonathan and three other u.s. service members died in an attack in niger october 4th. also why johnson's body was found almost a mile from the ambush site, and how he became separated from his comrade. and it is unclear why his patrol had not expected enemy contact, in a part of the country where this u.s. map shows 46 attacks took place over the last 20 months. on friday defense secretary james mattis spoke to reporters after meeting with senator john mccain who has called for more details about

mainly dry monday but a pattern change is heading our way, and cold front will be bringing rain, and then also some cooler air behind it. temperatures checking in the 40's and 50's. fifty-three right now in philadelphia still a cool, crisp kind of a start. 48 degrees in millville. we are at 54 in wildwood. forty-seven in atlantic city. mid 40's allentown. 40 degrees currently in mount pocono. throughout the day you will notice those temperatures warming up very quickly. by the noon time hour in the lower 70's. as we head in the 3:00 o'clock hour upper 70's. repeat of yesterday. a few more high cloud moving in as we head in the afternoon the high pressure is totally in control as we end the weekend on the dry note. as we zoom out though to the west you can pick out all of this rain, these storms, and cloud cover, that is associated with a cold front. this front will be moving east

and it will be bringing us our next chance for rain, maybe even some storms, some of which could be on the gusty side of things. high pressure moving off shore , but out ahead of that a front we will have that southerly flow. so temperatures will remain above average before the rain arrives, so era above average day heading in to monday and then rain moves in monday night into tuesday, widespread rain developing throughout the day on tuesday, and tuesday afternoon and evening we could so thunderstorms producing gusty wind. with that threat we are under a marginal risk for severe weather. entire delaware and lehigh veil under that marginal risk as we head in the day on tuesday. that is something we will be watching very closely. a change on the way though, as we mention out ahead of the front. look at these temperatures well above average high today which is 65 degrees. we are in the zero seven's all the way into tuesday and behind the front we will become more seasonal as temperatures drop down to the mid 60's on wednesday and then

schuylkill expressway westbound approaching girard avenue, and as we take a live look at our penndot cam we can see police and tow truck are on the scene still blocking two lanes with one of them partially blocking center lane with the left lane getting by entirely. we still do have a major closure taking place on mlk drive-in both directions between falls bridge and sweet briar drive from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to the j.d. f walk to cure diabetes. the road will remain closed from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for recreational activities. we will take a look at some travel times here, so far, we still do have some heavy congestion on the westbound portion of the schuylkill, due to the accident, and then every where else is looking good so far, where it is all clean, green for your morning commute in the cbs-3 traffic center i'm kyle hahn, now jan, back to you. in the healthwatch now about one in six people who died prematurely every year could be victim of the

pollution, according to the lancet british american journal, 9 million deaths worldwide in 2015 were linked to pollution. study shows that air pollution is by far the biggest culprit, filled by water contamination. more than 90 percent of the victims were in low to middle income countries. also in the healthwatch this morning our very first look at the new pair of conjoined twins separated at children's hospital. as health reporter stephanie stahl shows us it has been an emotional journey for one family. >> reporter: meet abby and erin delaney, four months after being separated. doctors at children's hospital of philadelphia who provided this video say 15 month-old formally conjoined twins are doing well but still need more reconstructive surgery on their skulls. >> love you daddy. >> reporter: heather and riley delaney on live in north carolina came to chop when she learned she was carrying twins conjoined at the head. >> when the girls were born they were 2-pounds, 1 ounce

appease, they were able to fit in my shirt. so they have grown a lot. >> reporter: before surgery there was months of detailed planning, doctors knew it was risky there, was a chance they could lose both babies. >> this is scary surgery and we're scared but we cannot let this fear limit our ability to operate either. we have to do the operation that need to be done. >> reporter: part of the planning involved using tissue expanders to slowly stretch skin that would be needed once the girls were separated. >> they make your brain strong , right. >> reporter: in june the twins were ready for separation surgery and final good bye from their parents. the good and the bad, silly and awful and happy and sat. >> reporter: the surgery lasted for 11 hours. >> as soon as we are ready we will give you one, two, three and pull them apart.

>> reporter: suddenly a complication with ab hoy lost a lot of blood, a difficult post surgical talk with the parents. >> we're really close to losing her. i'm worried about her brain swelling. >> reporter: there was scary days but abby survived but now mom can play dress up with both, little girls. >> they are happy content little girls for what they have gone through. they have never lived outside hospital walls and they are still happy. >> reporter: erin has been discharge but abby remains hospitalized here at chop. family is hoping that everyone gets to get home together, by thanksgiving. i'm stephanie stahl, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". in sports news toe day baseball fans in houston are waking up very happy, fans today the houston astros have made it to this years world series. last night they beat the new york yankees in game seven of the al championship series, with a score of four to nothing. >> next up for astros is game one of the world series against l.a. dodgers, that is on tuesday night.

day 77 degrees for that high temperature. another well above average day on tap for this sunday, i will let you know when a cool down is heading our way in a bit, jan, back to you. >> chelsea, thank you. a three-year old boy remains in critical condition this morning after being shot in the head inside of his tioga home and investigators believe his six year-old brother may have pulled the trigger. the shooting happened right around 3:00 o'clock yesterday afternoon as this home in the 3600 block of north 18th street, and authorities say that the three-year old, six year-old and 12 year-old brother were all home alone when the shot was fired in the second floor bedroom and the shooting has frustrated neighbors. >> they should have had access d not have access. if they had in security they should have took it with them when they left. it is unbelievable. it is unacceptable. >> now, at this point, it is unclear how the boys got access to that handgun and why they were left home alone. police say that the six year-old and his parents are with detectives.

now to florida, possible serial killer is terrorizing a neighborhood in tampa. three people were shot to death there in 10 days, although, victims did not know each other police believed they are not a coincidence, and as tony decopa reports police are warning residents there not to walk alone at night. >> reporter: police are urgencyly looking for this person seen on surveillance video out for a stroll as parts of the tampa has plunge in the state of fair. police chief brian dugan. >> we need someone to tell house that person is or we need that person to come forward so we can eliminate them as a suspect. that is where it starts with that video right there. >> reporter: authorities worried a serial killer may be on the loose. >> we can call it what we want f that brings attention to this, they be that is fine. >> reporter: on thursday police found body of anthony novoa shot after taking wrong bus home from work. he was shot just a hundred yard away from where benjamin
