you heard it, you heard it through all of the classmates? it should not be like this. >> moved to tears, emotions running high after a disturbing video sent shock waves through a montgomery county community, what is believed to be a group of high school students, recording themselves making racist remarks, and sharing it on social media. tonight, school officials are condemning the video and promised to go take action. i'm ukee washington. i'm jessica dean. said the hateful word and its impact. >> i don't want to demon ice you about it or for it, i want to and stan you. where you learn it? who taught you that. who hurt your own heart. and your own young, mind. >> reporter: what do you want the kid to know. >> you are hurting your other class mates. it should not be like this. >> reporter: archdiocese would not talk about the severity of the punishment or how many children were involved in this but they do say they will reach out to outside community groups, to discuss, some educational programming. live from royersford i'm cleve bryan, cbs-3 "eyewitness news" >> cleve, thank you. disgraced former philadelphia district attorney seth williams learned today he will spent next five years of his life behind bars. a philadelphia judge imposed maximum sentence during an afternoon hearing in center city. williams had pled guilty to one count of the bribery, this summer, the two term democrat also admitted to defrauding a

nursing home that cared for his mother. the judge presiding over the case had harsh word for williams. >> almost from the time you took office, mr. williams, you sold yourself to the parasites thaw surrounded yourself w i find it interesting that you say you owe everything in your statement, and evidently, didn't feel thaw owed them, honesty because you stole in effect from your mother. >> williams remained in custody in philadelphia federal prison but could serve his sentence elsewhere. happy. taking it up a level. by now bird fans know eagles have perched themselves comfortably atop nfc east and nfl. >> last night's win over washington came at a cost. two key cogs in this rolling eagles team have been lost for the year.

wyndam age brought a tree down on kelly drive at 7:25 in the morning. we had wind damage reports down in portions of new jersey , monroe township trees down at mallaga road and black horse pike. up here in montgomery county we had north wales a tree down blocking the road, blocking walnut street in north wales. the road was closed for several this morning. those wind got very strong. we had gustness some spots over 60 miles per hour. and rainfall, since midnight, 1.42 inches in mount pocono, almost an inch in dins township, .38 in doyletown and third of an inch in philadelphia we are clearing out, drying out, temperatures dropping in the 60's to the north and western suburbs. still zero seven's in the sit. we will tell you when we can crop in the 40's and which day this week highs in some spots may not make it, pennsylvania the 50's, for now, ukee and jessica back over to you. still to come on "eyewitness news" good news for anyone flying out of philadelphia, and or, for pennsylvanians anywhere for that matter the reason you won't face any trouble traveling by air for at lee a while.

you know, he had a premature baby and i think he had just been given the diagnosis that she had down syndrome. lauren brought out the best in me. she made me a different person. deep down in his heart he feels for people who are disadvantaged. lauren's a light in everybody eye. she's the spark that has started the fire. the goal is to keep places like this open so all people, regardless of disability, have an opportunity for employment. see, i love you. i love you guys too. you know that. yeah.

the new prison and the old one is, it is now surrounded by a double ring offences with wire , cameras and sensors. the 400 million-dollar project is already, two years behind schedule. fans have given pennsylvania a one year extension to comply with the new rules to tighten the security of the state's drivers licenses. >> that extension, means thaw will not have trouble using your pennsylvania driver's license, to board a plane or enter a federal facility, until october of 2018. the commonwealth estimates new drivers licenses will be available in march, 2019. pennsylvania is one of the 17 states given one year reprieve to meet the new id requirements, and it is likely state will need another extension to meet that 2019 deadline. some may consider bats, one of the holiday most creepy creatures but we say, they play an important role in the eco system. >> john mcdevitt from kyw news radio takes a trip to the philadelphia zoo for a look inside the zoo's bat

conservation efforts. >> there are more than 1,000 different bat species in the world with 40, found in the united states, 70 percent of bats consume mosquitoes making them nature's exterminators while some are in the millions , others are dangerously low, or in decline but it is extinct if it wasn't for conservation efforts started by philadelphia zoo around the 1990's. kim is vice-president of education and conservation at the zoo. she did a graduate work back then on the tiny island, in the southern indian ocean, where the bats are from. >> they went from less than a hundred to 20,000, and now they are no longer critically endangered. >> you are part of that. >> i was, so exciting. i got a chance to save a species. >> reporter: tis season october happens to be bat appreciation month. >> so why do you think a bat is associated with halloween. >> probably because people think they turn into vampires but. >> reporter: they don't.

sweeping in, the brown signifies low dew points, the moisture signified by blue here and you can see moisture along the coast, rest of us getting into that dryer weather. dew points begin to drop overnight. dew points back in the 50's and then by tomorrow dew point s in the 40's and eventually the upper 30's by early thursday. that is very, very dry air. really nice fall weather on the way. little bit of the cool down. that system departs. see where storm is, most of the showers off the two north and west, can't rule out a stray sprinkle thursday afternoon but the rest of the week for the most part looks rain free, and temperatures, dip and then start to rebound again in the weekend. tonight partly cloudy stray shower along the coast, we are in the mid 50's, for tomorrow we have got temperatures in the upper 60's, less humid, mostly sunny for majority of the area shower possible in the morning along the coast, and then eyewitness weather seven day forecast we will cool down, warm up again by saturday and then to finish out five day we have another chance for rain, sunday afternoon, and that could last into monday, but good news as

why are south jerseyans so angry headlines at sweeney? up. sweeney repeatedly sided with chris christie to underfund south jersey schools, increase standardized testing like parcc, cut take-home pay for teachers, and broke his promise to fund the pensions of hundreds of thousands of new jerseyans- all while padding his own. steve sweeney says a lot of things. but the truth is, he's not on our side.
