two, 15 years olds. when pete heard the shots, he ran outside. >> basically laying on the pavement. >> reporter: that person was 16 year-old sal dinubile, dying from two gunshot wound. >> i tried to do what i could and that is it, it was a bad scene. >> reporter: sixteen year-old clear miller also suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. both teens pronounced dead at jefferson university hospital, shortly after 9:00. investigators still searching for the shooter but believe this double murder began tuesday night around 8:30, with some type of an argument. >> when airing all. s happen, years ago we used to see fistfights and now guns are introduced in the mix. we have two tragedies. >> reporter: shooting took place in front of the stoop of the south philadelphia row home near 12th and ritner where sal's family lives. wednesday it was a gathering point for friends former hockey teammates and students at saint joyce prep where sal was a junior all remembering

news". >> okay, greg, thank you. tonight authorities are hoping to see the public help them smoke out a cigarette thief. he is caught on camera target more than a dozen stores in the upper darby area "eyewitness news" reporter joe holden tells us suspect is interested in a particular brand, of tobacco. >> reporter: for last several weeks upper darby township police have been hunting this guy a smash and grab cigarette caper, police say he goes for packs, not cartons and he is picky. >> it is all of the same brand it is new port and or marlboro so, you know just packs the marlboro and newport. they seem to be the cigarettes of choice. >> reporter: he has hit 14 businesses including seven in upper darby over the last two months. >> this guy is really a one man crime wave. that is what he is. he has got it down pat. it took him we counted the second on the job yesterday it was 45 seconds. >> reporter: most recent

burglary happened in the we hours of the morning at this sunoco gas station in the westbrook park section of the township. thinks one of the first times investigators say they have been able to see the car he is driving. they say he is always wearing a mask and stuffs the cigarettes into a pillowcase. it is estimated in each burglary he makes off with $1,200 worth of cigarettes which police believe end up on the black market. >> i don't know what they are selling on the black market for but obviously they must be selling for something if he is responsible for 14 jobs. >> reporter: police won't speculate yes only goes for cigarette packs and not full cartons, in upper darby township, joe holden for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". investigators are looking in the cause of the fire that destroyed a south street landmark. flames tore through bridget foy's restaurant early this morning killing two dogs and injuring three fire fighters. our natasha brown was at the scene right now natasha. >> reporter: well, fire officials remain here on the scene even at this hour, dous ing hot spots and they

beautiful fall shot and just all of these photos from weather watchers, pumpkin leaves just feeling the fall vibe in the air today as we head toward halloween. lets take a look outside at our neighborhood network sites in kutztown, kid outside on the soccer field sun beginning to set great day to watch soccer practice. not too hot not too cold, that front moving out to sea and taking cloud witt. cloud now just starting to clear across south jersey for a beautiful evening across most of the region. here is our next storm this will bring us rain for part two of the weekend, in the meantime it is cooler in south jersey where cloud have been around much of the day, we are in the lower 60's there. sixty-five here in philadelphia heading through the next couple of days you can see that system finally moves away, tomorrow, cloud some sun a lot like today maybe a pop up sprinkle, friday a beautiful day with high pressure overhead, sunshine wall to wall with you saturday even though we will start to warm up this front approaching rapidly. most of the saturday is sunny quiet. that front will start to come in by sunday and that will

bring in big changes. we are sticking to the zero seven's though. we are back in the zero seven 's on saturday. our average last day philadelphia is november 9th but latest we have ever had it was on december 29th, so it is not out of the questions to get zero seven's this late but we are heading close to that average date of november 9th. overnight tonight, we will drop down in the 50's. cool night. forty's even in the city. partly cloudy, chilly, some spots cooler in the lower 40's in the suburbs. tomorrow breezy, cool with that isolated sprinkle, 61 degrees and brisk breeze from the northwest at 10 to 15 miles an hour. quick peak into halloween as of now it looks like mid 50's with mainly clear sky light wind, and then that nearly full erie moon out there that is still almost a week away we will keep tabs on that forecast but as of now halloween looks good what doesn't look good? sunday looks like a rainy day from start to finish and rain could be heavier at times and that could impact your eagles game. now back to you at the desk.

we're following breaking news chopper three live over a crash on the commodore barry bridge we are told a vehicle crash in the toll plaza in the westbound lanes heading in to pennsylvania. at this time we don't know how many people were injured or the extent of their injuries but we do know drivers should expect delays. woman in kentucky got surprise of her life when she recently received a message from pennsylvania. >> that message was a mystery a case that took at lee 20 years to crack but as you'll see in tonight's brotherly love it was worth the wait. >> sometimes around 1997 carroll hulk's then husband found two class rings cleaning at downingtown high school west. >> i said maybe in time we will find out who they belong to. >> reporter: one a 1994 purdue ring with a bluestone engraved kathleen l bank croft other 1990 downingtown high school ring with three initials g-f-m. eventually they were packed

away and then nearly forgotten >> so thinks the college ring. small with the bluestone. >> reporter: recently during a move carroll found the rings again. her daughter emily carlisle, tried to find kathleen l bank croft. >> most of the people i found were teenagers. >> reporter: then she found a kathleen bankcroft in kentucky >> so my daughter said i will message her. >> reporter: emily asked kathleen if she went to purdue the answer, came back yes. did you lose your ring? i said yes. a long time ago. >> right away we got goose bumps thinking this must be her. >> reporter: picture confirmed it but that was only half of the mystery. >> how do we find, you know who this ring might belong to with just initials. >> i told her where they were found. she said she didn't go to downingtown high school but her husband did. we had seen her last name now began with a m and initials in this other ring, was g-f-m. i just looked at my mother and said this cannot be. >> we ended up getting pictures of them and sure enough there is no mistaking
