nerves, residents around the region still trying to get through the bottom of the bang good evening i'm ukee washington. i'm jessica dean. residents from the shore, mount laurel and plenty have places in between heard that booming sound. "eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan went in search of answers and joins us live from north wildwood with the very latest, cleve. >> reporter: well, around 10:15, 20:20 people in south jersey felt something but it was very intense right here in north wildwood. today i found out why. >> applause. >> in between cheers all of the chatter of this cross country meet in north wildwood wednesday was about a loud boom. >> there was a great big boom. >> everyone had a they are bye mysterious sound that made homes, offices shake. >> i thought something felon top of the roof. >> somebody hit back of the building. >> yes. >> it was like somebody crashed. >> a crane had just dropped on to the beach. >> reporter: more than a dozen people in cape may county called 911 but there was no reported incident to

investigate. >> there were calls after it happened but, again, there was nothing, we didn't know anything about it. so no action was taken. >> reporter: some thought an earthquake happened and wasn't just at the shore, more than 80 miles away david ahorn felt the house shake two times in mount laurel. >> pretty distinct. >> reporter: what was it? u.s. geological survey national earthquake information center said there was no seismic activity but they detect a possible sonic boom 9 miles off the coast of north wildwood n other word it was probably a high speed jet. >> we see military planes flying up and down the coast all the time, year round, all sorts of different planes. so i'm assuming that is what we're talking about here. >> just the house felt like it was going like this. >> reporter: barbara ferguson who almost fell over, in her house said she doesn't want a repeat performance anytime soon. >> when i thought something seriously exploded, but, obviously it was nothing. >> reporter: one of the reasons boom carried so far

from the shore had to do with the weather, something those temperatures inversion. on a typical kay air temperature cools with height. so sound waves disperse when they go up in the atmosphere. with the temperature inversion there is a warm air, lid that sends the boom back down to earth and amplifies the sound. i reached out to the 177 fighter wing out of atlantic city. they say it was in the one of their jets. i have called about half dozen other military, jet operations in the region, no word, on what jet, cause that had boom. in north wildwood, cleve bryan , cbs-3 "eyewitness news" >> interesting stuff, cleve, thank you. a south philadelphia community is america loss of the teenagers killed after police say someone used a gun to settle an argument. our greg argos spoke to family and friends of the victim. he joins us now from police headquarters with the very latest information, greg? >> reporter: and ukee, good evening. right now police say they are following some active lead in this double homicide investigation, and although they have not yet made any

arrests they believe that the killer, himself, is a teenager three shots, fired, two teenagers killed, one community is in mourning. >> my god i will miss my friend. i will miss him so much. >> reporter: sixteen year-old sal dinubile, raid laid dying in the street shot twice in the chest. >> i ran outside and he was laying on the pavement, my best friend. >> reporter: near him laid caleer miller shot once and also fatally wounded. >> i just can't believe they are gone. it is not him no more. >> reporter: caleer's mother, said her son had a bright future, honor role student at mastery charter school who planned to go to college. >> he went to school. he didn't really like basketball. the plan was, to get him a scholarship and send him to college. >> reporter: investigators are still searching for shooter, they say contact legal and sal were part of the brawl around six teens 8:30 tuesday night

near 12th and ritner in south philadelphia. one of those teens pulled a 45 caliber handgun and then pulled the trigger three times >> just one of those tragic mixes when arguments happened. years ago it used to be fistfights and now guns are introduced in the mix. we have two tragedies. >> reporter: now two families with parents, preparing to bury their own children. >> the loyalty, undying loyal ty, give you shirt off his back. i loved him so much. >> i just hope that they find the killer or killers that did this to my son because he didn't deserve to die, at 16. >> reporter: as you can imagine this tragedy really affecting everyone in that south philadelphia community. tonight at 7:30 neighbors, friends, family members of the victims gathering there for a prayer and candle light vigil. we are live at police headquarters i'm greg argos for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> greg, thank you. investigators are looking in the cause of the fire that destroyed the popular bridget

foy restaurant on south street three fire fighters were injured, two dogs were killed, and flames engulfed the restaurant. fire started around 1:15 this morning and burned for hours. more than 100 fire fighters battled the fire, neighbors are saddened for the foy family, which own the restaurant. >> i i just hosted a fundraiser here two weeks ago and it breaks my heart that these kind people lost everything. >> i feel the way i felt the day my mom died and the day my dad died. i can't remember ever feeling as heart broken, as i feel right now. >> what remain of the restaurant was torn down this afternoon because of the danger of it possibly collaps ing. two political aid to bob brady have been indicted, they allegedly paid off congressman 's 2012 primary opponent who admitted to dropping out of that race in exchange for cash. joe holden is live at federal court in center city with more

, joe. >> reporter: jessica, both of these men were handcuffed once they entered the federal courthouse, both here surrendering to charges this afternoon, that they paid off a former political opponent of their boss. philadelphia political operative ken smuckletter with his lawyer and donald jones pleaded not guilty to federal conspiracy and campaign related charges. both men have worked for congressman robert brady, a grand jury indictment handed out tuesday alleged smuck letter and jones paid off brady's 2012 democratic primary rival in exchange that he would withdraw from the race. that rival former municipal court judge jimmy moore pleaded guilt think month to making false statements. brian mcmonigal says $90,000 in payments to moore were legitimate. >> the decision, to criminal ized this behavior is unfair, and it is untoward and quite frankly, somewhat demeaning. >> reporter: federal prosecutors claim that the

payments were disguised, covered up, concealed from campaign finance reports. attorney robert represent donald jones and said charge, over reach for an under statement. >> all of my client's business , the congressman, and with is in of his other clients, all of his business ace above board and completely legitimate. >> reporter: as for congressman braid any a phone interview with cbs-3 attorney jim eisenhower said brady had not been charged with any crime, he cooperated with the justice department, and he maintains he did nothing wrong going a step further, attorneys dismissed any suggestion that congressman was involved. >> the congressman has done nothing wrong, ken has done nothing wrong. >> before the judge agreed to release both men on $50,000 unsecured bail, each requested that they still be able to communicate with the congressman, and the judge allowed that request. reporting live outside federal court tonight in center city, i'm joe holden for cbs-3

"eyewitness news". thousands of job seekers from camden county turned out for one of the biggest job fares in the region. the board of freeholders hosted event at bb and t pavilion. "eyewitness news" in camden. job seekers had a chance to meet with 150 employers and they offered positionness a wide variety of fields, employers at the fair say the job market is hot. >> the manufacturing industry? jennies growing, so there is a lot of qualified people, lot of what we had people from other jobs, you know, because they are that good and they will not leave those, so it is very popular now days. >> freeholder board partnered with the camden county one stop resource center for today 's job fair. we first told but historic search, this past weekend and now on the healthwatch this evening we have an up died on the conjoined twines just separated. their historic surgery included a first of its kind procedure. >> health reporter stephanie stahl is here now with an update for us. >> reporter: this is very exciting news. i had a chance to interview

the neurosurgeon who led the team at chop, and we have learned for the first time some of the details of how conjoined twins were separated best news of all the little girls are doing well. this is the new picture of abby and erin drain any therapy their mom at chop three months after the, conjoined twins were separated >> the wrapped growth in these girls and what they are doing and they are saying dad, dad and sitting up, and it has really been remarkable. >> reporter: greg hoyer says they will need one more surgery to finish reconstructing their skulls. >> we will have to go back in there, and put some synthetic material in there to give them the shape of skull that we want them to and to be able little bit more protective as well. >> reporter: doctor hoyer has been taken caring of the twins and planning the operation since he was born 15 months ago at children's hospital which provided this video. the separation surgery june 6th, took 11 hours, and a hero ing time for parents, heather and riley delaney, who

live in north carolina. >> i put together got and bad, sill and awful, and happy and sad. >> reporter: before the big surgery doctor hoyer says that there were a series of smaller operations, first a cut where the head would be separated. >> externally we put a device on their skull, basically, pushing each twin up further's part. >> reporter: this is first time chop has used the external distraction device. >> you created this device just for them. >> right, this is custom built on a 3-d printer for them based on their scans. >> reporter: now twins recovered enough for mom to play dress up with doctors giving an optimistic prognosis >> there is such happy, content, little girls for what they have gone through. >> possibilities are still completely opened for them and they are going to turnout just perfect for them. >> reporter: abby's still getting therapy at the hospital, erin has been discharged and the plan now is for family to be home together for thanksgiving. >> wow.

ringing from ice cream trucks may soon becoming to an end in avalon. >> tonight boro council is considering an ordinance that would ban the sale of ice cream and other goods near the beach. there have been complete ice cream trucks, are noisy and create a safety hazard for pedestrians when they turn around. ordinance would strip push carts of bells and whistles used to get attention. well, halloween is less than a week away. plenty of people are already

down in the 50's now that the sun has set. fifty-eight in reading. fifty-seven in lancaster. but still 65 here in philadelphia. sun went down at 6:07 tonight but it will get earlier in just about a week or two. look at this by november 5th our sunset times 4:53 p.m., by december 5th, 4:35, that is the earliest it will get for us, and wilt stay 4:35 until the time of december 20th when we start winter and start to get longer every day. we are losing two and a half minute of daylight every single day. lets talk about the weekend, it starts off with high pressure, nice, warm on saturday with that southeasterly flow but this system overhead on sunday storm to the north, cold front comes through but new low will form off coast of the carolinas here and that will enhance rainfall sunday. look like an all day event, guys from sunday morning into sunday evening and the rain will be heavy at times. that will also knock temperatures right back down.
