>> rahel and jim, police estimate that the men involved in the heinous crime are in their teens and early 20's, some as young as 14, it happens right across the street here outside this luk oil gas station. victim was left for dead in the middle of the roadway until someone called for help, fortunately it was all caught on surveillance video. take a look this happened last friday around 11:00p near 58th and baltimore. a 56 year-old pizza delivery man had just made a delivery and walking back to his car when approached by five young men between age of 14 to 25. now you can see in the video one of the men pulled out and pointed at victim and then hits him from behind knocking him out cold. another member of the group then drives off in the victim 's chevy prism while man with the gun rifles through his pockets. >> it is horrifying to see kid at this age acting this way, for no reason at all.

it makes me wonder where these kid parents are at and what are they teaching these kid. these kid at that age should be doing something productive, reading books, playing sports, but not assaulting 56 year-old guys doing nothing but trying to make a few dollars for his family. >> paramedics rush the victim to penn presbyterian hospital with the severe head injury, in the coma for three days but has since recovered and is at home, anyone with any information is asked to call 215-686-tips and for now we are live in kingsessing i'm trang do, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". rahel and jim, back to you. search is on for serial cigarette thief in upper darby the suspect has burglarized some 14 businesses over a two month period. mess of the thefts lake this were caught on camera. authorities say thief has been picky one stealing newport and marlboro cigarettes. if you recognize this suspect police want to hear from you. in other news shooter

still on the loose after murder of two teenage boys in south philadelphia. hundreds of friends, community members attended a vigil at 12th and ritner where victims were shot tuesday night following an argument. one of the victims was 16 year-old sal dinubile, a junior at st. joes prep. it happened right outside his home. second victim was caleer miller a junior at mastery charter school. miller's mother says her son was not the type of child to get in trouble. >> i'm angry. i'm heart broken. it shouldn't have been, he didn't deserve it. >> this is just so sad. investigators still working on a motive. police have not made any arrest but they believe the shooter is a teenager. south street institution is no more as crews tear down bridget foy's rest tur rant following yesterday morning's devastating fire. neighbors and regulars watched as demolition crew went to work knocking down what was left of the corner of second

and south. again, fire broke out yesterday morning and burned for hours. three fire fighters were injured, two dogs were killed at a pet groomers and still in word what sparked that fire. happening today preliminary hearing for the man police say went on a deadly shooting spree last august, and then alluded police for a movement derek rollins was arrested in july and georgia. almost a month after shooting death of generally in haverford, so far police say they have no motive for violence. rollins is also accused of shooting at two men in overbrook an hour before lee's murder. those victims survived. also happening today u.s. district court moved argument to philadelphia's lawsuit against attorney general jeff sessions and sanctuary cities case. city claims sessions illegally added conditions to philadelphia's justice department grants in order to force city to turn over allege illegal immigrants in custody. groups representing various cities, counties and legal organizations have filed briefs in support of the philadelphia's case. president trump returns to

washington today while denying reports of the feuding within the republican party this comes after two g.o.p. senators critical of the president announced they will not seek reelection. they include arizona senator jeff flake who called president's behavior quote undignified, other is senator bob corker, from tennessee. it has been more than a month since hurricane maria tore through puerto rico. >> three-quarters of the island are without power and cbs news correspondent nicki batiste reports that questions are being asked about the company in charge with restoring electricity. >> reporter: mayor of san juan , puerto rico is engaged with the twitter battle awarded a in bid, 300 million-dollar contract to help rebuild the island's power grid. carmen cruz in an interview with yahoo news tuesday evening said she thinks that the deal with whitefish energy should be voided. whitefish is two years old, has two full-time employees and handful of ties to the trump administration. cruz described the company as inadequate, and said that the contract lacks due diligence.

welcome back, flames tore from a rooftop in los angeles one of the two blazes simultaneously near dodgers stadium during game two of the world series, helicopter was able to put this one out, a separate brush fire, started near edge of the stadium's parking lot, fire fighters quickly responded and got that blaze under control as well. by the way dodgers who to the astros last night, series tied now one appease. fire fighters in brazil, and, national park that park is home to rare species of wild life now threatened by growing fire. the blaze started last tuesday reports say the fire already burned about a quarter of the park, crews are on the ground, and using flames to get that fire under control, and officials believe that the fire was intention only, set. >> you hate to hear stories like that but men los angeles
