sunday, police shoot a man suspected of terrorizing people with a gun over the past week. >> usually don't hear of this kind of thing at this mall. it is really well secured, and just shocking. around 3:45 p.m. police chief tom nolan said officers shot the man as he tried to speed out of the garage. >> he intentionally rammed two upper merion police cars, attempt to go run down officers from upper merion police on foot trying to take him into custody. >> suspected of robbing a woman at gunpoint around 3:30 p.m. saturday. investigators have also linked him to two other violent crime , in the wilmington, delaware area. >> the suspect was driving the same stolen vehicle from one of the carjackings in delaware at that time. that carjacking was also, carjacking, robbery, and kidnapping, in new castle county, delaware. >> chief mole and said police

live report coming up at 6:30. >> breitbart spot in yesterday 's rainy weather, eagles win again the 49ers. >> they kept it their most winning record in the nfl. cbs-3 "eyewitness news" reporter pat gallen here with more on the win and some take aways from the game. >> ugly day, but hey, a win is a win. we take t wasn't pretty but it was a victory, fairly convincing one at that. the eagles, continue their rain atop the nfl standings while the lowly 49ers remain just that, but let's start with the defense. who just beat up on an already wounded 49ers offense. actually let's, yes, start with the defense then instead. shall we? they've been pretty goo good. defense four times sacked tj, they were without several starters, rodney mcleod and jaylen mills right there pick him off. that one a pick six. the eagles defense, certainly dominating on the day.

also have to talk about carson wentz, over came early pressure, o line couldn't give him much time early on. it wasn't his best showing but he made it count when necessary. he connected when zach ertz, on a 1 yard touchdown pass. also, the big one, though, was the connection with alshon jeffrey. a 53-yard touchdown to him. went finished with 211 yards and two scores. even got to rest at the end. nick fultz ended up taking some snaps. finally how about the other stuff that happened? zach earth, gave a touchdown ball it the one and only mike trout. the angels outfielder and eagles uber fan has been seen at many fans over the last few years. i think phillies fans would love to see him. got to love the celebrations after long touchdown the eagles go with a baseball theme this time ertz after the score, charges the mound, you got to love it. these guys are having a ton of fun. next up, for the birds, denver broncos are in philadelphia, on sunday at 1:00.

back seat, it started get being, started rising, then i got in the back, then it started to flow out of the car >> yesterday's heavy rains caused down trees and power lines and flooded roads like this one all across the region >> well, high winds and torrential rains battered the big apple, as well. strong wind gusts brought down power lines in new york sparking flames and crushing cars. officials issued a high wind warning for winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour, and gusts up to 60 miles per hour. >> and, heavy rains and high winds also took a toll on rhode island, strong winds whip through buildings and swung doors wide open last night. the storm slammed the coast bringing wind gusts cents as strong as zero seven piles per hour, winds are expected to die down later this morning. >> katie, i was flying in yesterday at the airport, and the last half hour, it was like hold on, buckle your seatbelt, folks, we'll have bumpy landing. >> no kidding. glass you're back here safely. definitely very large system, impacting millions of people.

but they're feeling it at its worse, certainly, far off to the north into the new england area. but it is the same system. some of the rainfall that we've experienced here locally , it is impressive. so if there were any hint after drought, and there was at least a little bit of drier than average conditions across southeastern pa very quickly, i think, getting wiped away here. now these are rainfall amounts just so far. we've had impressive totals, ocean, burlington county, holmdale, howell township picked up over 4 inches every rain, four and a half though that's the highest total we've seen so far anyway. in philly, over 2 inches have already fallen with the system here it is. one more time. looking at the counter clockwise rotation, so it will be exiting from southwest to northeast, in our region, the rainfall moves out that way. but, we're stuck billion winds for the rest of the day, although starts to ease up, at its worse right now, but still notice the breeze the rest of the day. that has its benefits, however , in the form of almost like mother nature's hair dryer. because it will help dry out

another accident. another accident couple of them where the vehicle actually spun outlet g us know it is very slippery out there. northeast extension northbound past quakertown, left lane, block there, and another area where vehicle spun out, as well, northeast extension, southbound past lansdale. see if i can, actually, a construction sign on the road i believe, yes. here is the accident where we've got it on the pa turnpike, eastbound, before downingtown, that left lane, whenever we're starting to see vehicles spinning out like this, we know we have some hydroplaning action, because of how much rain is on the roadways, in fact, looking in some of the camera shots, you can literally see the pooling on the roadways and of course, that is splashing on the vehicles behind you. then we have another sign on the road, route three, west chester pike at route 352, more on this coming up in a little bit. jim, over to you. >> thank you shall meisha. it has been years years since superintendent err storm sandy hammered the northeast, second cogsly he is storm in us history devestated parts of new jersey and new york leaving more than $70 billion in damage. reporting, many are still

struggling. >> reporter: five years after hurricane sandy, resident in new york are still recovering, as their homes undergo extensive renovations, are being raised or rebuilt. in 2013, 20,000 flood victims in new york registered for assistance to rebuild or replace their homes. >> 250, 300 homes were elevating or rebuilding just in this community. >> reporter: amy peterson, says she can only helpless than half. >> as you know there has been criticism, though, the process has cents been cumbersome, it has been confusing, that early on there was lack every communication. what's your response to that? >> sandy was a dis no one had seen before. problems certainly at the start. 189 to 500 homes have been rebuilt, 370 out of eight ooh homes have been raised. it is five years later. what exactly is taking so long >> what happened was a lot of people were able to return home. but we still felt it was important to elevate their homes and make them safe.

about the specific targets of the investigation, and what anyone may be charged with. but sources tell cbs news that's exactly what we may finds out in a matter of hours cbs has learned a federal grand jury has approved charge , brought by special council, robert mueller, and details of the indictment could be unsealed later this morning. in advance of that moment, president donald trump launched a series of new tweets with a old message. he once again called the probe a witch hunt, saying there is so much guilt by democrats, and clinton, last week it did come to light democrats helped pay for some of the information in a does a of allegations against the president's election team. >> i certainly would have, you know, like to know who paid for it earlier. but nonetheless, that is just one factor to be considered. it doesn't answer the ultimate question which is how much of the work is accurate? how much of is it true. >> still unclear who might be charged and with what. but it is believed the investigation has zeroed in on the finances of the trump campaign and associates.

this happened in the mall's parking garage around 4:00 yesterday afternoon. police say the suspect tried to run down officers with his car, that is when police shot the suspect. paramedics then returned him to the hospital last night police confirm that he's the same man accused of robbing a woman at gunpoint, in the mall 's parking lot on saturday one we spoke with was shocked. >> part of our life, it is part of our lifestyle, in this day and age, don't expect to hear things that got so close to home. >> investigators say the suspect was inside stolen car, from an october 22 carjacking in new castle county. officials found a handgun inside that car. they believe the suspect is connected to two armed robberies in delaware. he's now recovering in the hospital. >> the search is on for gunman who shot and killed a man in north philadelphia. officers found the victim with a gunshot wounds to the head. this happened last night on the 2100 block of north hancock street. there is no word on the victim's identity. and no word on motive. >> the search also continues for suspect who stabbed two

teenagers in philadelphia. >> this happened yesterday morning at north park avenue in logan. both of the teenagers were taken to the hospital where one of them at last check was in critical condition. no word on what may have led up to the stabbing. >> well, the defense team in the briary trail of bob menendez and wealthy friends want why the to declare mistrial. attorney for the new jersey democrat and florida eye doctor, salmon melgin claim the judge hasn't let them introduce witnesses and evidence to adequately present their case. menendez is charged with excepting free flights on private jet, and other gifts from melgin in exchange for political influence, both deny the charges. >> meanwhile, two members of the navy seal team six are being investigated in the death after green beret. army staff sergeant logan j melger found dead in june. they say his death is being investigated as a homicide. melger was working in the african nation of mali in support of the us embasy. >> storm of controversy in puerto rico. has been more than a month

low to mid 40's, generally what we find found. i want to focus on one particular watcher report. comes in from marty out in chalfont. he has rain, important, too, his wind direction coming out of the southwest as is most of the wind. generally westerly winds flow. to up 11 miles per hour, but his weather station reported wind gust up to 45 miles per hour. not surprised by that at all. >> region wide, could gust as 45 miles per hour. could last until noontime. rainfall totals, just from yesterday. but, it is interesting, mount pocono ended with record daily rainfall, almost 2 inches, on the entire day. the old record, they crushed it, just about an inch and a half. it was set all the way back to 1972. so very, very soggy day there. pretty much everywhere else. here is the storm system, in question. some snow on it back edge, little too warm obviously for that here, but definately still getting hit with the very chilly rain, some incredibly heaviment look at
