win for houston and a former usa gets a proposal of a lifetime from her baseball beau. good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at cbs news headquarters here in new york. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. a manhunt is under way this morning in colorado for a gunman who opened fire at a denver area walmart, killing three people. police released a security photograph of the suspect. he's a white male. he started shooting last evening. witnesses say he started firing at random with a handgun. >> i turned around and people were falling down. >> i immediately froze because i didn't know what to think or what was going on. i heard two more shots and i hit the ground because i didn't know if there was going to be bullets flying. then i heard three more shots

and i got up and ran as fast as i could. >> two more were wounded. other witnesses ran or hid. witnesses say the suspect left in a red mitsubishi. now to the truck rampage that killed eight people. the suspect is facing terrorist charges. sayfullo saipov and he wanted to hang an isis flag in his hospital room. they're questioning a frejd of saipov's. hena doba is here with more. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. the fbi leased the name of the second person, mukhammadzoir kadirov. they believe he's a friend of

the suspect. they want to know if he played any role when the suspect crashed into the back of the school bus. ncc terrorist should get death penalty. that was a tweet by president trump. he appeared in court yesterday. >> we now have him charged with federal crimes of >> reporter: saipov was wheeled in a wheelchair into kourtd. >> a search of a bag carried cell phones released thousands of pages and videos. >> reporter: they found a note with is la mick references. sources say he bragged about his success. he chose halloween because he

believed more people would be out and about. law enforcement is trying to determine how he became radicalized. >> i think we've developed a level of con activity of him as well as others. >> reporter: saipov said had he not ran into a school bus, his plan was to get to the brooklyn bridge and get more there. he wanted to put isis flags on his truck but decide not to, believing it would cause too much attention. the new york city police officer who shot saipov is being hailed as a hero but he doesn't think so. he and his partner raced to the site and saw a man waving guns and yelling. nash told him to drop the weapon and then fired. >> although i feel we were just doing our job like thousands of

officers do every day, i understand the importance of yesterday's events and the role we played and i'm grateful for the recognition we have received. >> nash said this is why he became a police officer. saipov was actually carrying a pellet gun and paint ball gun and he was hollering god is great in arabic. saipov had been on the fbi's radar, but he's not someone investigators believe was capable of mass murder. authorities say he was inspired by isis videos and decided to use a trucks to carry out his attacks two months ago. h searched the internet for information on halloween in new york city and truck rentals. over the past few years isis has urged followers online to use vehicles to kill people. >> he appears to have followed almost exactly to a instructions on how to carry out

such an attack. >> prosecutors say saipov had hundreds of videos and also on his cell phone. we're also learning more about the victims in the attack. six of the killed were from overseas. michelle miller has more. >> reporter: cell phone video shows them on a care-free ride along the waterfront before they were mowed down. they were all successful businessmen, all graduates from 30 years ago. it was supposed to be the trip of the lifetime. the men wearing matching t-shirts with the word "libre"

we're getting a look at some of the facebook ads that russia used to interfere with the election. facebook has identified about 3,000 russia-connected ads. it comes after questioning on why they did not do more to stop russia from interfering with the election. >> what we're talking about is a major foreign power with the sophistication and ability to involve themselves in a presidential election. >> it's estimated 126 million americans were supposed to the russian content on facebook. a former college student could be charged with a hate crime, and the investigation into navy collisions. those are some of the headlines on the morning newsstand.

president trump is expected to announce jerome powell. here on wall street a mixed finish fir stocks. the dow gained 57 points. the s&p 500 finished 5 points higher and nasdaq finished 11 points higher. bitcoin prices have climbed roughly 550% year to date, but analysts warn investing in crypto-currency like bitcoin is highly speculative and the market is highly unregulated. some retail stores are getting a jump on the holidays. sears and kmart introduced a blowout sale. they claim it's to help shoppers avoid the black friday rush. the u.s. postal service is offering next day sunday deliveries this holiday season. the program is available in 20 major u.s. cities.
